Gifts From Crows – The Empty Mirror (Video)

Categories: Neoclassical, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“”The empty Mirror” is an artistic Cinematic piece with advanced choreography. Mainly based on string instruments, slow progression and mysterious atmosphere that invites every listener to explore the unknown past of this fascinating world. Are you ready for this trip?”

-Nagamag.com

This is the key piece for the forthcoming album ‘Stories in Slow Light. It was inspired by a photograph taken by Helena Whitten at Poltimore House in Devon which depicts a solitary figure in front of an oval frame where a mirror used to be.

The track evokes the memory of our ancestors and imagines all the living souls who have passed in front of the now long gone mirror. The protagonist appears to be channelling these spirits out of the ancient walls of the house, at times contorted by the energy flowing through her and then flowing with serenity.

The piece was recorded at Swallow Studios in Smallwood and features members of the string section of the Northern Film Orchestra. The strings shift from tight pizzicato motifs to sweeping legato passages building to a crescendo of ancient harmonies fought out between the cello, viola and violin performers. In the closing bars, a kind of peace is finally restored.

The video for was shot on location at Poltimore House but this time dancer and choreographer Kristine Berget reprises Helena’s role from the photograph and we follow her as she moves around the rooms and hallways of the crumbling mansion.

“Emotional R&B with a powerful lyrical part. The main reason for listening is its high-quality arrangement. Each sound is in its place, with bass and beat above all expectations. Very strong track!”

“Эмоциональный R&B, с мощной лирической составляющей. Главная причина для прослушивания — качественная аранжировка. Каждый звук находится на своём месте, а работа с басом и бочкой выше всяких похвал. Очень сильный трек!”

Growing up in the small town of Walterboro South Carolina, Chad Nathan known by his artist name “Chad!” would begin his music journey as early as 2015 at the age of 14. His first musical endeavor would be putting short clips of his freestyle raps on YouTube. After about 2 years of posting his raps he took a hiatus and never considered making music again….That is until 2019, with a new drive and motivation he would begin making beats, which was something he was inspired to do by his cousin and fellow artist Insvmniv. After posting his beats on SoundCloud with very little attention he would become discouraged and almost quit once again. After graduating from high school in 2020 Chad would begin working and living a simple life with creating music being the last thing on his mind, but over time he would become bored of the same old routines and would begin to explore his old passion once again. Inspired by soulful voices such as Bryson Tiller and Michael Jackson, as well as modern icons like Drake and Lil Baby, Chad finally found his lane as a producer and would begin collaborating with various up and coming artists. Chad considers his self more of an executive producer than anything, looking to push creative boundaries and put together artists and producers in the ways such as DJ Khaled has. Chad has a true passion for music and no matter how many times he’s tried to walk away from it his love for the game always brings him back, and he’s here to stay.

LA-based pop/R&B singer-songwriter and actress Erika Tham makes a fiery entrance this year with new single “Shhh” and premieres the coinciding Patrick Wilcox-directed video today. Co-written with GRAMMY-nominated producers Deion Gill (Kelly Rowland, Miguel, Playboi Carti, Usher) and Major Myjah (Chris Brown, J.Cole, Ty Dolla $ign), the tongue-in-cheek track demonstrates Erika’s lyrical wit and seductive flow as she puts every mansplaining fuckboy firmly in their place. Paying homage to the unapologetic female pop stars of the ‘90s, “Shhh” is a loose spin off Shania Twain’s 1997 megahit “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and laced with alluring Asian string instrumentation against a modern R&B production.

“‘Shhh’ came together off the back of a joke made during a writing session. I remember talking to Deion Gill and Major Myjah, and I said ‘you know when someone’s cute, until they open their mouth and ruin it?’” Erika Tham explains, “It’s a fun, feminine, and coquettish song that was equally as fun to make. When it came to writing the verses, I wanted to pay homage to the sassy, unapologetic pop stars of the ‘90s. The line ‘your daddy’s black card don’t impress me much’ was inspired by Shania Twain’s iconic ‘Don’t Impress Me Much’ but with a twist and subject matter that felt authentic and relatable to my real life and so many other women. The rest of the song is honestly just the result of three friends talking shit and gassing each other up.” On the video, she adds, “Patrick and I juxtaposed the fantasy and glamour of cabaret with somewhat of a horror backdrop. We felt the contrast fit the mood and mysterious energy of the song.”

This is the third track from Diane & her longtime GRAMMY-nominated composing and producing partner David Arkenstone on their new album, Avalon: Between Earth and Sky, releasing March 2022. "We both love Celtic history, myths and magic, which is why we wrote the first Avalon album. And this new album is the continuation of the first one but from the feminine point of view, as the feminine energy gains power and recognition in the world, and keeps Avalon alive. This track represents the Queen's place of solace, growth and deep thought where she shed her tears, grief and old life. As old energies are washed away by the Crystal Shores, she gains new energy, strength and empowerment, as she walks into her new life.” Diane's music has been featured on Amazon's Spa and Meditation channels for many years, and the original Avalon album has garnered millions of streams since release. This is a gorgeous fantasy album with full orchestration, live players, and vocalizations.

Feralman – Believe (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“"Believe" has captured the motivation that most of us need to chase our dreams in this life. Nothing is impossible and the artist here communicates the message via his calm Indie Folk sound. Featuring extra background vocals and supportive spirit too.”

Welsh/Australian Indie-Folk artist Feralman shares his captivating new single, ‘Believe’, out on all streaming platforms on 7th January. The track is the third single to be taken from his upcoming album ‘Allegories’ (which means a collection of metaphors), set for release later this year.

http://www.feralman.co.uk/

Following a tragic loss in his family and also being diagnosed with a brain tumour, Feralman felt inspired to write a collection of songs that really hammered home the fragility and rollercoaster of life. ‘Believe’ is about having the confidence and freedom to embrace life’ and to not listen to those who tell you that you can’t achieve all you want in life. Continuing that theme, his new album ‘Allegories’ is about really getting a hold of your own life and decisions, driving positive actions for yourself and for those you love.

https://www.instagram.com/feralman_music/

Naming Belle & Sebastian, Nick Drake and Fleet Foxes as some of his biggest inspirations, as well as drawing influence from the natural, emotional and spiritual world, Feralman incorporates elements of acoustic, electric and bass guitar, drums, percussion and strings - crafting a truly mesmerising Indie-Folk sound, complemented by the soothing backing vocals of Nashville folk singer Rochelle Feldkamp.

The track was mixed and mastered by acclaimed producer Sefi Carmel who has worked with iconic musicians including Bowie, Bruno Mars and Massive Attack, as well as on film scores for directors such as Ridley Scott, John Woo and Chris Columbus. His influence was significant in achieving the track's cinematic feel.

Speaking of the track, Feralman says, “With Believe, I wanted to write a track that was about self belief. Something that basically said, don’t worry about what other people say or think, the only thing that matters in terms of what you want to achieve, is that you believe in yourself. If you believe in yourself you can achieve pretty much whatever you want. When you make choices and decisions, do so positively rather than through fear of failure or of what others will think.”

Feralman’s debut album ‘Chapters 35-43’ was released last year and was an introspective album about big personal life events. On the new album ‘Allegories’, each track is told in the form of metaphorical stories. The album is much more externally focussed, with a bigger, more epic sound thanks to the additional orchestral components. Feralman hopes that this new album will project positivity to those who listen to it.

Following the birth of his daughter in January 2020, Feralman began singing and playing to her regularly. It was then he realised that a new collection of songs had organically formed and he made the decision to share his music with the world, prompting the release of his debut single ‘When All Is Almost Lost’ in November 2020.

“Full of emotion and charged with artistic energy. We dig the slowed down trap beat and the guitar right off the Iberian Peninsula. The French sure know how to transfer emotions into material things and this continues the legacy. ”

To love the other is to conceive of your happiness during every moment of your life, with or without yourself.

Do you still love me? is a hymn to the love challenge after a separation. It highlights the questions, doubts, trust and distrust that surrounds a breakup.

It immerses us in a form of paradox between the right choice, the ego, the guilt but also the vulnerability in which a confused being finds himself.

Listen Do you still love me? It is accepting to look yourself in the face. It is to recognize that we must succeed in accepting and loving ourselves as we are in order to detach ourselves from the idea that we have of the love that we give to others.
