A peaceful soft piano composition. It tells us about the rural life of our grandparents...

https://www.instagram.com/andrea.sertori/

Andrea Sertori is an Italian pianist and composer of instrumental music. He started his first classical piano studies when he was 9 years old and his first keyboard experiences when he was 15. He had the opportunity to play in different rock bands and at the same time to continue studying piano in order to improve his piano technique and sensitivity as much as possible. Beyond the piano he has the great passion of synthesizers. The study of synthesizers allowed him to learn how to combine classical piano music with electronic music. His first solo work was 'Mosaic Room' (2017), a 5 track EP where piano and synthesizers overlap. From this moment on, in succession, he released a series of tracks that are characterized by a fusion between neo-classical and electronic music.

Saijan, DOCTOR TROLLER – Bang (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“Saijan and DOCTOR TROLLER released with their new afrobeats single Bang. Through minimal sounds assets which are brilliant mixed to give the right wide space for the hookiest soulful vocal performances. A song that quickly becomes addictive.”

-Nagamag.com

'Bang' is the latest offering from Saijan - and showcases a new sound that Saijan himself calls ‘Afro-Garage’ - it’s a track that’s full of uplifting, Afrobeat energy, with an old school garage vibe at it's heart.

Recorded and co-written with his producer, Sokari, at The Chocolate Factory Studios in London - this was the first time that the pair were able to work together in person, after months of communicating virtually. Initially planning to rework an old release, the focus of the session shifted and they ended up creating ‘Bang’.

Saijan wanted to experiment with his sound on this track after listening to a lot of old 90’s garage - and after listening to some garage drumlines he decided to add his own afro twist to the track. Sokari worked his magic and added some dril-style drum lines to add some extra sauce - and ‘Bang!’ was born.

Maceo Frost – Failing to Meditate (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Feel what you have inside. Feel the waves of goose bumps and a lump in your throat. This new composition Failing to Meditate, now it is within you. Music of Maceo Frost is not just a part of your soul, it is its whole now.”

“Почувствуйте, что у вас внутри. Почувствуйте волны мурашек и ком в вашем горле. Чувствуете? Это новая композиция Failing to Meditate, теперь она внутри вас. Музыка Maceo Frost не часть вашей души, она её целое.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist shared with us few words behind this song:

The first time I tried meditation I felt panic. My mind, couldn’t find peace. I didn’t get it. I was bummed I signed up for a 3-day meditation course because now I had to commit. After 3 days I managed to hack the system by shutting my brain off. Basically falling asleep without anyone in the Yoga shala noticing. I felt thankful like: I'm so lucky I’m not a snorer.

However, I remember landing a kickflip down a curb first try while skateboarding home from the last day. Wow! Somehow I had more balance and control. Second attempt, I flicked the board effortlessly and catched it as if it was nothing.

I could hear the catch of the board gripping my shoes mid-air. Only to realise I catched it sideways, landing, a little bit too fast. Effortlessly giving blood to concrete basically.

When given the chance to slow down, why do I still look for loopholes and distractions to avoid feeling what's going on inside?

It was around this time I started playing piano.

It started off as a kind of challenge to see if I could learn something I thought I had no talent for. Maybe if I could prove myself wrong I’d realize that anything is possible. After about a year, playing became less focused on improvement and naturally became a sort of meditation to help me process life. Songs started coming to me as if from a magical place, often with deep insight, goosebumps and tears. They helped keep my mind sane during my tireless quest to prove myself as a film director to the world, whether it was an airport piano or a hotel lobby piano on my next film gig, or home, in my kitchen with the lights dimmed. It helped bring me back when I was burned out and depressed from selling too much of my soul to the commercial world.

From now on I promise to share this music with you. Hoping that just maybe... it will help you connect to yourself as these songs did to me. They all came to me at certain times in my life, helping me get through wherever I was at the time.

”Failing to Meditate” is my first piano single, A homage to these moments of escapism, Reminding me to stay humble when preaching about mental health.

Now on all streaming platforms.

Ivory Layne – Lonely Hearts [Official Music Video] (Video)

“Ivory Layne unfolds her creativity in this gorgeous song. With her clear and heart-warming voice goes beyond the basics and affects the listener in a very positive way. For an overall experience, consider watching the video too.”

London, UK: 18th February 2021 – Rising Nashville-based singer songwriter Ivory Layne releases her debut EP ‘Confetti’ today, alongside focus track ‘Lonely Hearts’.

A collection of powerfully emotive songs that shows the breadth of and scope of Layne’s talents, the ‘Confetti’ EP includes critically acclaimed singles ‘December’, a surging rush of modern day soul pop, and Layne’s rousing feminist anthem ‘God Save The Queens’.

Meanwhile, the heart-crushing title track outlines just why Billboard tipped her to become “the new Adele”, while ‘Lonely Hearts’ is a sublime combination of classic songwriting and widescreen production that places her in the sphere of contemporary pop polymaths like Maggie Rogers.

Produced by Nick Atkinson and Edd Holloway aka The Barn Productions (Lewis Capaldi, Gabrielle Aplin, Dean Lewis) Jimmy Robbins (Keith Urban, Maren Morris, Miranda Lambert) and Ivory herself, the Confetti EP is Ivory’s first UK release since signing with Justin Timberlake’s development company Villa 40 and showcases the unique voice and masterful songwriting that caused Timberlake to sit up and take notice of Ivory’s talents.

Layne says; ‘In a world constantly asking “what do you believe?”, I see the Confetti EP as my answer. It’s been my musical collection of lessons learned over the last seven years, touching on themes of personal growth, heartbreak, love, mental health, and letting go. I began this EP having barely co-written, never been in a relationship, still new to Nashville, and with one academic trip abroad under my belt. I finished writing it last year in London, having visited so many times it felt like home, crafting songs about dates gone wrong for the right reasons and the beauty found in every season when you take the time to look. I’m still writing as I’m living, it’s the nature of art itself, but the Confetti EP will always hold a special place as the diary of my early twenties, where I’ve been and where I want to go.”

Tipped for stardom by the likes of Billboard, V Magazine and Live Nation’s Ones To Watch, Layne’s remarkable talent has garnered critical acclaim as well as attracting a wealth of stellar collaborators.

In just a few years, she’s worked with Grammy award-winning producer Ed Cash (Dolly Parton, Amy Grant) on her debut EP; collaborated with Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness and Needtobreathe; written for other artists alongside co-writes with some of Nashville’s finest including Jimmy Robbins, Shane McAnally and Lori McKenna. Layne’s sharpness in the writer’s room has also landed her two global ad campaigns, one for prestigious jewellery house Swarovski and another for cable giant, HBO.

The Confetti EP is primed to cement Layne’s reputation as one of the world’s finest, rising female talents.

Corona King by Dawn Drake Directed by Olivier Kay (Video)

Categories: The Latest, Video, World Music|Tags: , , , , , |

“Dawn Drake please us with a way atmospheric new song called -The Corona King-. Good mood vibes that if you listen in the morning when you start your day will boost you with good energy to fulfill your goals. With a soulful vocal performance and the beautiful sync of instrumentalist performers will light your atmosphere, and even if you don’t want to do nothing today is OK, laid back and enjoy a beautiful day! ”

-Nagamag.com

“Corona King” by Dawn Drake (Feb 12, 2021 on PMX Records) chronicles a pandemic romance that is already barely hanging by a thread on Zoom. The relationship finally succumbs to a lack of actual human connection that many of us have experienced in 2020.

Imagine if your computer screen is actually a bad dream come true? Many singles in lockdown all over the world went for months without actually being in the presence of other human beings. Social media and video chats have been the only human connection we have had during the pandemic- and Zoom, Facetime and Skype have become some of the only potential romantic connections we’ve had as well. This bad dream for Ms. Drake tells a somewhat autobiographical tale of being in quarantine already cutoff from all social ties; the final straw is when that special someone catches coronavirus and is never heard from again. S/He becomes the “Corona King” for whom the song is named.

In Dawn’s signature fashion of accompanying her darker lyrics with grooves that light up the dance floor, the video for “Corona King” sheds a sunny light on the subject matter as the protagonist prevails. Dancing and singing into the post-lockdown summer and fall, she makes lemonade out of the tale, converting it into a passion-filled dance number that is at once New Wave Pop and Cuban Timba (Salsa Cubana) with some dashes of Afro-Cuban folkloric references that conjure up images of Changó, the Orisha of male virility, and Ochún, the Orisha of love and sweet waters. “Corona King” shows us that all is not lost in the world and that even when the floor is shaking… you can still dance!

Dawn Drake & her band of over a decade, ZapOte (a luscious tropical fruit) are beautifully filmed by Okay Motion in a lush Brooklyn backdrop that features the signature Colamari Horns (Jackie Coleman and Lynn Ligammari of Durand Jones, Antibalas and Red Baraat), the sounds of the tres guitar played by Benjamin Lapidus, as well as Drake’s own bass, vocals and percussion. The tight rhythm section featuring Rosa Avila (Summer on Broadway, Broadway Bounty Hunter) on drums and Mara Rosenbloom on keys makes you want to get up and groove all the way into post-pandemic land!

While you’re grooving you’ll be in good company with choreography by Hansell Vaillant of La Habana, Cuba accompanied by Ms. Drake and Brooklyn dancer Michele Drysdale. Cameo appearances by Brittany Anjou of BiTyrant and Eliane Amherd from the voice of Switzerland make it all in the family. A motion filled piece from beginning to end, the moves in “Corona King” will give you the energy you need to shake off the Corona King you may have in your own life.

Who is the “Corona King” in the video premiere? We may never find out, as the plot is purposefully gender-non-specific. One is left to guess who the actual Corona King really is. In the end, the takeaway is that perhaps there is hope for singles even in and beyond a global pandemic!

Mark Sutton – Childhood Dreams (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“The composer and performer Mark Sutton has a wonderful album Crest of a Wave, which has 12 wonderful creations, but a special place in our heart has taken his work Childhood Dreams. So many feelings inherent in just three minutes, but it is enough to close your eyes and feel the waves of heat all over the body.”

“У композитора и исполнителя Mark Sutton есть чудесный альбом Crest of a Wave, в котором есть 12 чудных творений, но особое место в нашем сердце заняла его работа Childhood Dreams. Столько чувств заложено всего в трёх минутах, но этого вполне достаточно, чтобы закрыть глаза и почувствовать волны тепла по всему телу.”

-Nagamag.com

From the album "Crest of a Wave", a beautiful solo piano piece.

https://www.instagram.com/pianoman_mark/

Mark Sutton is a composer and musician who creates background and theme music with a reflective and nostalgic appeal from his studio in Dorset. His masterful approach to digital orchestration gifts him the ability to compose to brief or to picture. For his non-commissioned work, Mark doesn’t set out with a mission to create a particular piece; instead, he arrives at his pieces, guided by his fingers and directed by his soul.

Since an early age, Mark has been a master of his piano and takes inspiration from an eclectic mix of modern and classical composers and artists, from Chopin to Coldplay, there’s something there for Mark to source from.

Mark’s work combines orchestrated and pure piano tunes, it’s the perfect ’study’ music, and guides the mind, body and soul towards feelings of contentment and peace during the times you wish to relax and unwind.

His 2016 album Quest of The Spirit, offers up 12 tracks of discovery, tracks that chart the evolution of the soul’s journey, an internal voyage everyone takes. Every note, every rise and fall in the music, maps out the way ahead as the sounds escort you on your quest to the very heart of your soul.

Mark Sutton’s music takes listeners on a journey, directed by a man who has masterful control over music and a deep, innate understanding of the human condition.
