The piece surrounds the topic of dementia and a soft performed emotive neoclassical track.

Neo-Classical composer Ben Fitzgerald is set to release ‘Ode to John’ on the 1st of June. His composition is both a social and personal commentary on his relationship with Dementia. It looks to represent the relationship with his Granddad, the symptoms of the Illness itself and our respective views on mental health as a whole.

Ben has previously played at the Lit & Phil to raise money for CALM and at Cobalt Studios in January 2020. He has now been accepted into Summer studios- a creative investment project ran and funded by the SAGE Gateshead and is turning the commission into a short animated film by collaborating with a local animator, which is due next year.

Starla Edney – Queen of Hearts (by Monoir)
(Video)

Travelling at the speed of sound is something Thrace Music is really good at. This and the passion for discovering cultural connections between countries separated by long distances have built upon the Romanian record label for quite a few years now. And its latest release comes to strengthen this feeling.

Starla Edney took her native island vibe to a wider audience with a handful of songs. Yet the collaboration started with Monoir, translated into Devil Eye, brought her the well deserved international fandom.

Queen Of Hearts connects the sensual tones from Starla Edney’s voice, born on the tiny island of Guam in the middle of the Pacific ocean, with Thrace’s unmistakable sound signature. The soft tropical beats and subtle Indian allusions emphasize on a broken love story that has never sounded so nostalgic. The hot summer days never seemed so close.

Starla Edney is an international singer and song-writer from the island of Guam. Signed with Thrace Music in Europe, she’s becoming the next European sensation. She has lived in many countries all over the world, and currently resides in Italy.

B’Elle – El Mundo Baila
(Spotify)

‘El Mundo Baila’ which translates to English as ‘The World Dances’ is perhaps exactly the ethos the world needs to hear and adopt at this time! Through this brilliant debut single, B’Elle emits an energy which demands the coming together of people as a community and to be as one in the celebration of life; and B’Elle’s one true love, House Music.

A soaring, carefree slice of pure house joy, ‘El Mundo Baila’ provides an infectious groove with the beaming vocals of Emy Perez throughout. Isabelle Horen (a.k.a B’Elle) imagined the song to life with talented Spanish Producer Julio Navas. With a collection of evenings reminiscing about the White Isle (Ibiza) and speaking of their passions for House Music and its culture, ‘El Mundo Baila’ was born.

Through what has been a troubling time for everyone, B’Elle’s ‘El Mundo Baila’ serves as a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel that represents unity and togetherness; the values that underpin House Music!

ImButcher – Drift Away
(Video)

Driving with an unstoppable air of integrity and artistry combined, Vancouver’s ImButcher is set to to kick off 2020 with a brand new album of beautifully immersive, profoundly engaging songs.

Bringing together a plethora of original tracks crafted throughout the past twelve months, the album ‘Rewind’ showcases ImButcher’s incomparable creativity alongside an unwavering professionalism. His finely tuned skill for sound design meets with a clear passion for music, fusing elements of electro pop with deep house in a seamless, hypnotic fashion. The 18-strong collection proves as entrancing as it is exotic, nostalgic, and brilliantly refreshing.

An innovator in his field by all accounts, ImButcher has put together a playlist fit for the late night festival stages as much so as the all-night private gatherings and even the long commute. From pristine audio craftsmanship, to thoughtful, deeply human subject matter, with captivating melodies and stunning build-ups, the album’s use of contrast allows each and every track to offer its own compelling drop into euphoric intensity.

Offering subtle hints of influence from a broad range of big names, ImButcher’s love for the likes of Depeche Mode, New Order contrasts powerfully with his connection to contemporary rock acts like Muse. Faultlessly uniting unusual chord patterns with satisfying melodic developments, introducing a number of sincere and memorable vocalists, each composition on the project works hard to deliver its own moment of utter escapism for the listener.

Ever unique in his process, ‘Rewind’ highlights an eclectic yet clearly heartfelt and emotive way with songwriting. From the production details to structural and lyrical choices, every moment adds soulful intention to the sound, effectively elevating ImButcher above the vast majority of his peers. There’s an intricate and considerate method of artistry to his work, and for all of these reasons, the new album seeks to boldly transcend that which came before.
