James Blake – Life Is Not The Same (Official Lyric Video) (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“-Life Is Not The Same- one of those compositions that you just need to feel with all your gut. The amazing process of expressing the feelings and emotions of the author with the help of instruments and vocals. Unique rhythm and almost extraterrestrial melody. When the music speaks more than words.”

“-Life Is Not The Same- из тех композиций, которую нужно просто почувствовать всем своим нутром. Удивительный процесс излияния чувств и эмоций автора с помощью инструментов и голоса. Необычный ритм и практически внеземная мелодия. -Life Is Not The Same- тот самый случай, когда музыка всё скажет сама за себя.”

Today, Mercury Music Prize and GRAMMY® Award winning UK singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer James Blake has released new single “Life Is Not The Same”.

A collaboration with hit producer duo Take A Daytrip , (who notably co-produced the Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow track, “Industry Baby,” with Kanye West), “Life Is Not The Same” is the second track to be lifted from James’ forthcoming fifth studio album, Friends That Break Your Heart (out 10th September 2021).

Showing the scope that his body of work will span, “Life Is Not The Same” gives a larger view of what’s to come on the album. Featuring introspective lyrics and a dreamlike melody, the track proves Blake’s masterful range and bold vulnerability. It follows the album’s critically acclaimed first single, “Say What You Will” – which saw The Fader laud Blake for “locking into fragile melodies and bold compositional swings with ease”. The accompanying official music video was directed by Bear Damen and features a guest appearance from Finneas.

Friends That Break Your Heart follows the Covers EP – a collection of Blake’s favourite covers, including his cover of Frank Ocean’s “Godspeed” (which generated over 5 million views on TikTok) – and his 2019 released, GRAMMY® nominated album Assume Form which was his highest charting album in both the UK and US to date.

More recently James worked with Dave on his no. 1 second studio album We’re All Alone In This Together and featured on Slowthai’s chart topping album TYRON.

James Blake’s first new full-length album in two years, Friends That Break Your Heart, will feature collaborations from JID & SwaVay, Monica Martin and SZA. James worked closely with British artist Miles Johnston to design a cover reflective of the album. The result is a visual encapsulation of the emotions brought forth throughout the body of work.

JAMES BLAKE’S “LIFE IS NOT THE SAME”, RELEASED VIA POLYDOR RECORDS IN THE UK, IS AVAILABLE ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS NOW:

David Lindmer – Omen feat. Johanson (Video)

Categories: Electronica, Electronica Features, Features, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“In this gentle, easy listening track, you will discover the world of wonderful harmonies and unexpected musical worlds. Melodic Techno & House, with inclusions of excellent vocals and crystal sound. The dense atmosphere is replaced by an unexpected pressure, and ends smoothly. Great job!”

“В этом нежном, лёгком треке, вы откроете для себя мир чудесных гармоний и неожиданных музыкальных решений. -Omen- сочетает в себе мелодию и ритм Techno & House, с вкраплениями отличного вокала и кристального звучания. Плотная атмосфера сменяется неожиданным напором, а затем так же плавно завершается. Отличная работа!”

Label boss David Lindmer returns to Running Clouds for a very special release. A very personal piece written during the lockdown, Omen is a collaboration with Berlin based vocalist Johanson and lands alongside a stunning music video created by director DRUST.

David Lindmer is a UK born artist based out of New York. It was in 2018 David really found his signature sound characterized by driving, powerful techno that is rich in melody and cinematic drama. Having worked within the VFX industry for many years, David’s passion for sound design and cinematic scores also led him to explore the relationship between audio and the visual arts.

David is also the co-owner of Melodic Techno label Running Clouds founded in 2018 and the Chromia Sound collective. With recent high profile support from the likes of Tale of Us, Mind Against, and many more, David continues to develop as an artist and push the boundaries of immersive audio.

With Omen, David delivers his signature driving melodic techno, rich with emotion and charged with a melancholic atmosphere while maintaining enough low-end punch to absolutely work on the dancefloor. Luscious pads grace the breakdown and create a comforting blanket, wrapping around Johanson’s evocative vocals before resolving into a highly distinctive, synth-heavy, 80’s influenced finale.

Omen is accompanied by a stunning music video created by DRUST, a director raised between Paris & London with a European sensibility to filmmaking. The starting point for the Omen video was to explore the theme of doomed relationships and witness the nuanced moments where things take a wrong turn.

“Bringing emotion to the forefront of the viewers’ experience was key to the storytelling. David was a fantastic artist to engage with because of his openness to the collaborative effort of the whole piece. Early on we decided that the images shouldn’t feel like they’d just been tacked onto the track, but that pictures enhance the music and vice versa. This feeling of both being fully bedded together was of primary importance to us.” DRUST

Black Caviar – Collect Check (feat. EMIDA) [Lyric Video] (Video)

Categories: House, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“A well-produced classic house sound with a bright overtone. The words are as meant for a love affair, but with finances. Clever Idea with good breakdowns melodically. ”

Black Caviar puts a cheeky spin on hustling for money with his new track “Collect Check” on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak. Featuring smooth, velvety vocals by EMIDA, this house gem opens with groovy melodies that gently meld into a deep, minimal bassline that feels right at home both on the dance floor or when listening at home. It was inspired by a relationship with financial instability, something that many people faced during the global pandemic, and the desire for success. “Collect Check” is Black Caviar’s second release on Dim Mak, after 2019’s “Alright Alright, Okay / Zonin'” EP, who has also gained industry attention with releases on Atlantic Records, Universal Music, Casablanca Records, and more. Read on below for the full story behind “Collect Check”:

“When I first heard EMIDA’s smooth vocals, I was blown away. Her style, tone, and delivery reminded me of Sade. I wanted to make sure the production sat in the right place that would compliment her vocal.” – Black Caviar

“The songwriting process was spurred from a period of financial instability. It led me to write about wanting to hustle out of that situation and aspire to a more opulent lifestyle. The lyrics’ collect cheque – run it back’ are about getting paid but still wanting more because It’s never enough. Ending with ‘run it forward’ – straight to the bank. It was a fun song to write because money can be quite a taboo subject. But with this track, I wanted to make it cheeky, sassy and cool.” – EMIDA

Amassing over 300M Spotify streams, New York City’s Black Caviar has been solidified in the dance music world with genre-bending music to fans across the globe. Since the release of the 2017 hit single “Coco,” which has totaled over 18M plays on Spotify alone, the trajectory has only gone up from there. Originals, including “El Camino” and “What’s Up Danger” with Blackway, which was the lead track on the “Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse” soundtrack, found massive success in the form of a Gold Record Certification along with a Grammy Nomination. Coming off the heels of a momentous soundtrack accomplishment, Black Caviar was chosen to produce the official remix of the “Charlie’s Angels” theme song to be used in the 2019 update of the classic film. In addition to originals, Black Caviar’s extensive track catalog includes a momentum-driven house twist on Dillon Francis’ “DFR,” fresh rendition of Louis The Child and Foster The People’s “Every Color,” and a popular vibrant rework of the Modjo’s classic “Lady (Hear Me Tonight),” to name a few. Other high profile artists, including Lizzo, Tiesto, R3HAB, Jason Derulo, and more, have recruited Black Caviar to remix their tracks, and his catchy sound has also touched the commercials of Apple, eBay, McDonald’s, Victoria’s Secret, as well as various movies, Netflix, and TV series. Keep an eye out for more new music and live show announcements coming soon!

Jeshua Marshall – ‘Shoot the Moon’ Feat. Fredo Ortiz (Video)

Categories: Rock, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“-Shoot The Moon- gives us a strong semantic load and energy promise, communicating with metamorphoses and images in the text. Such songs want to listen with eyes closed in full solitude, which will help feel all their ease in the confusion of modern realities.”

“-Shoot the Moon- дарит нам сильную смысловую нагрузку и энергетический посыл, общаясь метаморфозами и образами в тексте. Подобные песни хочется слушать с закрытыми глазами в полном одиночестве, что поможет ощутить всю их лёгкость в суматохе современных реалий.”

Often – Palm Trees (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , , |

“The mood is warm fuzzy blankets on a beach wile a sunset is happening. The lyrics are deep and very well filtered with a bit of recording magic. Slow steady tempo sets the tone. ”

-Nagamag.com

Artist said about this song:

“I had a best friend that I would refer to as my longest relationship. We spent our 20’s partying and weeping all over New York’s lesbian dance floors. It was exactly how your 20’s should go, including how abruptly it all seems to end. There was so much buried beneath our friendship, so when I moved away and started to know and see myself more clearly I really couldn’t avoid our disjointed roots. Last year was particularly hard, as it was for literally everyone, but it also gave me a lot of time to sit and stew and work things out and be mad in ways I never gave myself the grace to be. One night when I got near the end of that rope it was about 2 in the morning and I just needed to do something with all the energy. I started playing these very simple chords and this sweet melody formed and turned into “Palm Trees”. There’s kind of a knot in the song, a lump in your throat of all the things left unsaid, but it’s ultimately a simple goodbye. An acknowledgement of what was and the peace of knowing when it’s time to turn the page.”

Born in the flat plains of Ohio, Often (they/she) hunts for what can carve her out. A natural wanderer, they shifted their perspectives in the Arizona desert, the mountains of France, and the crowded streets of New York. After achieving early dreams of being a working photographer, Often began slowly sinking deeper into their infatuation with the transformational nature of sound. First fitting themselves into an electronic chill pop duo called DIMES, they played small shows in Brooklyn dives until they escaped to and ultimately transformed from life in Atlanta, Georgia.

Often has been discovered on several Spotify Editorial Playlists, was featured on the series finale of Showtime’s Golden Globe winning show “The Affair,” and has a genuine investment in making connection with her audience, hosting a Weekly Reground each Wednesday evening offering a safe space to center themselves and others. Often aims to provide the calm, euphoric experience of healing within her music. Little spells to release our truest selves.

GRAMMY Award-winning vocalist Mitch Grassi today reveals “Angels Pray,” the latest piece of original music from his new solo project, Messer.

Messer is about freedom in identity, independence, confidence, queerness, the theatrical, and living your fantasy and romanticizing your life. Basking in beautiful solitude, embracing the darkness we carry within ourselves, as well as celebrating the moments of bliss, humanization, empathy, self-awareness, and global awareness.

“‘Angels Pray’ came from a place of longing, specifically longing for an escape. it’s that inexplicable desire to run out the nearest exit and leave everything behind in search of your higher personal truth. it’s the need for a bird’s eye view. When we find ourselves in the midst of chaos, it is often very difficult to view our circumstances from a larger perspective. The narrator of this song is searching for solace, perhaps in a new place, or perhaps in another person,” Grassi says.

Be on the lookout for additional Messer original music releases over the coming months.
