“The minimalist of the sound, in which, every sound element in its place, the Dream Pop rhythm section fascinates with its airy atmosphere, and the vocals take off our solar system. The sound is very high quality, and the main thing is the positive and correct atmosphere, which in the aggregate is awakening exclusively positive emotions!”

“Минималистичность звучания, в котором каждый звуковой элемент на своём месте, ритм-секция Dream Pop очаровывает своей воздушностью, а вокал уносит за пределы нашей солнечной системы. Звук очень качественный, а главное позитивная и правильная атмосфера, что в совокупности пробуждает исключительно положительные эмоции!”

Paula Jivén makes spellbindingly original pop music, each song sparked from her radiant imagination. At just 17-years-old, she’s already cultivated a truly singular voice as an artist, one that defies all expectations in favor of following her most playful and daring instincts. With a self-described mission of “disrupting the comfortable and comforting the disrupted”, Jivén is set to deliver a debut body of work revealing her supreme gifts as a storyteller and the tremendous power of her captivating voice. October 1st saw the release of her debut single “What Are You Hungry For?”.

Paula Jivén about the track:

“WAYHF? is a song about self-sabotage and self-doubt, but also covering growth and self-love. I wrote it to a close friend who was going through a personal crisis. I wanted to bring comfort and love to her distress, give her a sense of peace but also reflect on the big questions, if you see what I mean? That's where the question comes in. What Are You Hungry For? What brings meaning and joy, and - you name it - to your life? That's the question that I want to ask you. Because I want to know! <3" https://twitter.com/PaulaJiven

“-Bylja- managed to catch the most memorable, clinging moments and convey them at each listener. -Nord- can be easily compared with a swinging boat, where Melodic Techno & House rhythms are performed as a wave, which take you far beyond the horizon. Very harmonious work and real candy for your ears.”

“-BYLJA- удалось уловить самые запоминающиеся, цепляющие моменты и донести их до своего слушателя. Трек можно легко сравнить с покачивающейся лодкой, где в качестве волн выступают ритмы Melodic Techno & House, которые уносят тебя далеко за горизонт. Очень гармоничная работа, настоящий кайф для ваших ушей.”

Electronica duo BYLJA is releasing their debut EP Sojourn on the 24th of September via Springstoff. On the EP, listeners will find ‘Unity & Division’ as well as the previously released singles, ‘Rings Of Eradication’ and ‘Another State Of Matter (featuring Rumpistol)’. For the old-school listeners, the EP will also be released on vinyl. With their chilled sound, the duo have received support from several unique publications including Comeherefloyd, VENTS Magazine, Rock & Pop and Bands Of Tomorrow. The duo have made themselves at home on stage, appearing at several of Denmark’s biggest festivals including

Spot Festival, Uhørt Festival, Smukfest, and Stella Polaris, as well as sharing a stage with well-known acts such as Maribou State and Lydmor. Offstage, the duo have also provided official remixes for German duo KIDSØ and Czech duo teepee.

Born and based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Marchel Mørk and Emil Aagaard met each other at a school musical and bonded over their love of cheese and synthesizers. They formed BYLJA in 2018, where they would explore the inspiring sounds of Jon Hopkins, Christian Löffler and Boards of Canada in their music. The Sojourn EP sits closely to these influences, drawing parallels to the works of Kiasmos, Rival Consoles and Bonobo.

Building a futuristic universe with their atmospheric tones, the listener is drawn into the vast, awe-inspiring chasms of space and sound created by BYLJA. It’s within this melancholic tinged world that we find Sojourn, delicately hanging in the balance and providing a light, escapist cheer to the soundscapes. Be prepared to be lulled into a deep reverie as the mesmerizing forward-moving beats keep all entranced in their wake.

“Wide open landscapes and emotions are evident in this well composed creation. S if through rosy colored, glasses the slow beat and drawn out guitar are superb. ”

The dream is to go back. The nightmare is that we never can.

During quarantine, I had to make a trip to the grocery store. I met an elderly man
who struck up a conversation with me. We almost seemed to be kindred spirits.
He began the conversation with “Life is hard when you outlive all the ones
you love.”

https://www.facebook.com/NathanielPaulHoff

It seemed like a bit of a quick start to a conversation, but I could tell he
just needed someone to talk to. After talking for a while, I felt this sense that he had
that the world at large had forgotten about him. But, he had created a plan to travel
the world on a train he had read about. He could work on the train and it would
take him across the world. He was amidst planning his way out.

“songbird” was a direct inspiration from that moment. This idea of life after all that you
love and care for is gone. His story resonated with me in the way that I feel from COVID
taking away so many small businesses – so many dreams from all of us.

But what do we do now? Where do we go from here?

“songbird” hopes to take you to a place of hope amidst a looming dark shadow cast over the world.

“Juicy modern mix, angelic voice and pleasant warm atmosphere. Sound elements equally occupy a music space and seems to whisper on the ear, I'm with you, I'm near. Casting melodic work!”

“Сочная, современная аранжировка, ангельский голос вокалистки и приятная, ламповая атмосфера. Музыка обволакивает, равноправно занимают музыкальное пространство и словно шепчет на ухо, - я с тобой, я рядом. Цепляющее мелодичное произведение!”

Runae shared few words behind this song inspiration with Nagamag:

"I wrote this song myself this summer in my bedroom and home studio in Hundested in Denmark where I live. The song is about feeling attracted to the wild and tells the story about being in love with this wild person who is unpredictable but at the same time has a power over you. I am inspired by nature and like to use elements from nature in both my lyrics and visuals.

The song has a romantic soft pop mood."

Anton Commissaris Interview on Nagamag

.

Nagamag:
Which are the genres that describe your music style better?

Anton Commissaris:
Jazz - vocal, with notes of blues, soul, rhythm and blues, and gospel styles.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Anton Commissaris:
I am a Jazz composer, pianist, and vocalist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I released my first EP - On A Bright Note - in February 2021. I have a new single - Lonely Bay - released on September 24, 2021, and a second EP - Out of the Blue - coming out in October 2021.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Anton Commissaris:
I had heard music on the radio but the first time I felt a true connection was when at about 9 years old, I listened to an album by Joe Cocker - With a Little Help from My Friends. Cocker's voice was raw, bluesy, and powerfully emotional. It struck a chord with me. Intrigued, I began to play the record over and over. Two songs, in particular, stood out for me - the title track - With a Little Help from My Friends - and - She Came in Through the Bathroom Window. I didn't realize it at the time, but these were both Lennon-McCartney covers. I would later become a huge Beatles fan, impressed particularly by the fact that they composed, played, and sung their own music.

Nagamag:
How did you become a fan of Jazz music?

Anton Commissaris:
My mother was into Jazz music and she played a lot of records that I picked up on when I was young. When I was learning the piano at an early age, she also had Jazz sheet music laying around that I would learn how to play. I remember, in particular, being impressed by - Smoke Gets in Your Eyes. During my college years, I picked up on Frank Sinatra and many of the other great singers of the American Song Book. As an alternative to all the other standard pop music of the day, we would play this at parties and have a lot of fun, while others were somewhat confused by our retro tastes. Then after, playing classical piano for a number of years, I drifted back into Jazz and fell in love with that style of music all over again.

Nagamag:
Many artists listen to genres that they are not producing music for. Which track is your favorite that is NOT similar to yours?

Anton Commissaris:
The Beatles "For No One"

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which is the track from a similar artist you admire?

Anton Commissaris:
Sarah Vaughan "Misty"
