111 – See You Again (Spotify)

Nadja, Singer & Songwriter of 111, wrote 'See you again' for her best friend who passed when she was 18 years old. At that time she had no emotional tools to deal with the overwhelming pain and it almost tore her apart. Because of all the pain, for a long time she wasn't really able to feel the deep, beyond-lifetime connection between him and her. Now she does feel it and from this exact place comes this song!

Few words about 111:

With 111, Nadja and her producer pick up the idea of 'healing music' with its scientifically proven benefits and translating it into a new sound aesthetic for a wider audience: No eso -cliché, but a fresh, organic ambient -electro-sound that gives the listener a feeling of relaxation and warmth. A lot of the songs are presented in 432 hz instead of the usual 440 hz pop-songs are presented in. Studies prove, that this frequency has more relaxing and empowering effects because it matches the natural vibration of the human body. 111 combines instruments from different musical traditions which are known for their touching and relaxing sounds, for example the monochord. The lyrics sometimes embed mantras from different religions which are known for their strengthening and healing effects, and are always positive and empowering.

With their new approach and understanding of ‚healing music‘, 111 brings together artists from all genres and all over the world, who also believe in the positive effects of rhythm, sound and voice! For example, for their song ‚protected‘ Nadja worked together with award-winning L.A.-based producer Robot Koch, with whom she also wrote the newest track 'See you again'. The successful Berlin-based producer-duo 'Dasmo & Mania' didi the production!

Marcus Arch – Carnivore (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , |

We all have things we fight against. Sometimes they’re just in our heads, and sometimes they’re really out there. Either way the fight is always real.

Carnivore came about while experimenting with various sounds and samples on Logic. The opening rhythmic hook laid down the foundation which then further evolved. The song revolves around the idea of fighting a shadowy figure, real or imagined. The animistic vocal hook represents the primal struggle that we face - against the worst part of the human nature, or against a real life predator out to get us. The first half of the song is more subdued, giving an impression of quiet resistance, that becomes a much bigger fight or struggle, that in the end finishes with a blow - did I kill the Carnivore? Or was I killed?

Few words about Marcus Arch:
Australian Indie-Rock Trio Marcus Arch took their folk beginnings and fused them with elements of electro-rock, synth-pop and thick harmonies, landing with a dynamic musical experience.

Thoughtful lyrical compositions and reflections delivered in punchy pop-choruses reflects the analogue/digital crossover that is the basis of Marcus Arch. Earthy, yet covered in the pizazz of the electro-age, Marcus Arch takes you back and forward through a musical escapade that indelibly disrupts.

Dahl – After Ours (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, Post|Tags: , , |

Before he was collaborating on EDM hits with Demi Lovato and Fetty Wap, Trevor Dahl was making music on his own terms. With the rapid rise of Cheat Codes with bandmates Kevin Ford and Matthew Russell, the trio has also made it a priority to focus on their own creative endeavors. Going by his surname "DAHL" this is a project to parallel Cheat Codes, but returning to his solo roots.

With a hybrid of influencers from electropop acts like Bazzi and Lauv, alongside the lyricism of John Mayer, Dahl reveals his talent for being a jack of all trades; he wrote and produced all of his music.

Signed to Atlantic Records at 17. For the next five years , he toured the country, even writing songs for other major label artists like One Direction. By 21, he left Atlantic Records to pursue electronic music, which lead him to Cheat Codes.

While DAHL will be a departure from Cheat Codes music, there will be hints of the acts sound embedded in his solo work, but this project is the most candid, the now 25 year old musician has ever gotten, detailing everything from him growing up, to his serious relationships, to dropping out of high school. "It's about letting people know everything about me on a level I've never open up on", he says. DAHL's music will blend genres from electro-pop and indie-rock to hip-hop.

Dance music superstar Don Diablo continues his prolific start to 2020 with new single ‘Thousand Faces’, a deeply personal record that taps into the heartache attached to losing a parent.

The single is out on Friday 19th June, with the official music video to follow on 21st June. The video was directed and produced by Don Diablo dropping on Father’s Day. It includes exclusive footage he filmed at the age of 13 with his first home video camera. Featuring Multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Andy Grammer, ‘Thousand Faces’ finds the sweet spot between modern dance music and acoustic genius, it’s a track destined to touch the hearts of music lovers worldwide.

Don explains: “Thousand Faces is definitely one of my most personal records that I have written so far. Almost seven years ago I lost the most important man in my life: my father. Since that day my vision on life has changed drastically, not long after that I started achieving all the things I dreamed of most of my life. His passing fuelled me with so much passion and dedication which, looking back on it, gave me an unprecedented amount of energy and drive to work harder than ever to make the most out of my life. During these last years I have often wondered what my Dad would have thought if he could see me now.

“Things got so much bigger than both of us could have even imagined from the last conversations we had.Sometimes when I am performing in front of thousands of fans it feels like I can see him standing in the crowd, nodding his head, giving me his approval. I know my story isn’t unique, eventually we all go through similar experiences, it’s the lessons we learn from these experiences and the way we handle it that sets us apart. I know Andy lost his Mom ten years ago which also made a huge impact on his life, so on top of his incredible vocal talent he felt like the perfect person to tell my story and by doing so, also making it his story and at the end of the day the universal story for all of us.

“Having both lost our parents (his father and my mother) before we reached success, this was a really special song to put out together” Andy adds.

The track follows on from Don Diablo’s March single ‘Bad’, featuring Moroccan-English artist Zak Abel, a floorfilling club smash that has racked up over 20 million hits across Spotify and YouTube in only two months.

One of the most recognisable figures from the world of dance music, Don Diablo recently clocked in at #6 in the coveted DJ Mag ‘Top 100’ list. Recent highlights from his extensive back catalogue include ‘Survive’, a collaborative single with Emeli Sande and Gucci Mane, heartfelt single ‘Brave’ with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Jessie J, as well as high profile remixes for Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, Coldplay, Mark Ronson & Miley Cyrus and more recently Anne-Marie.

Andy Grammer has taken the pop world by storm over the past few years. His fourth full-length album Naive (S-Curve Records/BMG) quickly rose to the #1 pop album the day of its release and features gold-certified single ‘Don’t Give Up On Me’, marking his seventh certified song to date. It was featured in the big screen drama Five Feet Apart and clocked 18 million Spotify streams in three weeks. Over the last few months, Grammer has released several collaborations including ‘I Found You’ with Cash Cash and ‘Best of You’ with Elle King.

Don adds: “I hope this song gives people hope and the strength to turn something very painful into something very positive, deep down inside I feel my dad is watching over me and I will continue to work as hard as I can to make him as proud as I can.”

Bellsavvy – Queen of My Mind (Video)

Bellsavvy – Queen of My Mind
(Video)

Bellsavvy is a pop singer/songwriter with a strong attitude and musical identity. Based in London and raised in Brazil, the artist knows how to combine her latin roots and European influences to create a unique sound unlike any other. Encouraged by her mother who was a well-known pop artist in the 80’s, Bellsavvy always knew music ran deep through her veins. Even during her time as an actress and professional model, she couldn’t deny the undeniable connection she had to songwriting and performing and eventually took a leap of faith into exploring her true calling as a solo artist. With strong vocals, catchy toplines and a powerful edgy-pop style, Bellsavvy has a lot to say in her art.

Starting her career with MTV Brazil singing on the show “Studio Acesso Girls MTV”, Bellsavvy won over the hearts of over 1.8 million live viewers who all voted for her performance. Following her time on MTV, she was catapulted into the limelight, landing roles in movies, musicals and numerous musical projects around Europe.

Her debut single under the name Bellsavvy, narrates her own life experiences with the modelling industry and the devastating effect it can have on your mind and body. Following a successful modelling career, Bellsavvy’s body began to change and she suddenly started being rejected over and over again by casting agents. They would shame her for her change in weight and appearance and the constant denials quickly took its toll on the singer, brainwashing her into believing that her body was no longer good enough. These negative thoughts resulted in a loss of self-confidence and self-love and Bellsavvy soon had a mental breakdown. No longer recognizing herself in the mirror, she turned to songwriting to help her pull through. “Queen of My Mind” is her uplifting and self-empowering anthem about overcoming these inner battles, realising who you are, accepting it and understanding it, in order to truly be at one with yourself. She confides, “Queen of My Mind is a very personal, deep and emotional song. I wrote it about three years ago after a mental breakdown I had at the very end of my modeling career. I want others to feel the power we have when we love ourselves. Self-esteem, self-love and self-acceptance are the most powerful things we can have in us. It changes everything.” The songwriter has successfully crafted a song to show others that even when you hit rock bottom, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and with a bit of time and healing we can become the queen of our minds.

Produced by Billboard HOT 100 producer David Lei Brandt (Lady Gaga), the compelling pop song is all about self-confidence, self-love and ultimately about becoming the “queen of your own mind”. The bold new single features confident vocals, determined beats and courageous lyrics, while soaking up influences from other fearless female pop artists such as Lady Gaga, Brittney Spears and Demi Lovato. Along with elements of 80’s pop, such as Depeche Mode, Bellsavvy is able to concoct an infectious sound, putting her distinct stamp on it.

The dramatic visuals for “Queen of my Mind” give a deeper insight into Bellsavvy’s experiences, while delivering it through a more playful and fantastical representation. Beginning with the singer receiving negative texts from her modelling agents, we see her go through all the emotions that come in hand with a mental breakdown. From the sadness, confusion and anger to ultimately ending up blossoming and becoming stronger than she’s ever been before and evolving into the queen of her mind. Every detail of the video holds meaning, with Bellsavvy paying tribute to her latin roots, both through costume and set design, while the choreography is crafted to symbolise different emotions. The high energy video shows the damage that body shaming can cause, but it also signifies the importance of discovering your true self and feeling confident in your own body. Emphasising how the female body isn’t universal, we see the dancers dressed in haute couture for curvy women, shining light on finding your inner warrior and being proud of who you are.

Bellsavvy hopes to use her inspiring story to help people in need, using honest and authentic lyrics to tell her story and connect with listeners on a deeper level. Her music has been hugely supported by LGBTQ+ communities around the world – a community who can empathise with the discriminations that she has endured. With the goal to encourage others to feel strong, beautiful and uplifted, no matter what anyone else tells you, Bellsavvy is on a mission and no one can get in her way.

Party Nails – Eden
(Spotify)

Party Nails (née Elana Belle Carroll) joined choir at 8, picked up the viola at 10, and the guitar at 11. By 12 she was playing original songs at open mics around her hometown of Chatham, New York, and at 17 picked up production. After moving to Los Angeles in October of 2014, Party Nails waitressed, made music and didn’t do much else. A year later Neon Gold premiered Party Nails’ first single “Break” which was followed by “No Pressure” and “Better” in 2016, and finally her first music videos and EP in 2017, the same year PVRIS took her on their North American tour (along with Canadian artist Lights). In 2018 she self-released her debut album, Past Lives and Paychecks, and in 2019 scored a few short films and continued to tour, supporting Bad Bad Hats, Eve 6, MitiS, and co-headling with PRXZM and Cannons. A frequent collaborator, she has written and provided vocals for Battle Tapes, Getter, MitiS and produces and engineers other artists between tours. She supported Australian artist Donny Benét at the top of 2020 and will be headlining a US run later this year in support of her sophomore album You Don’t Have To Go Home But You Can’t Stay Here.

Her first album was about love and money. This one is about booze, family and night-time. The title, You Don’t Have To Go Home But You Can’t Stay Here, comes from what they say after last call at a bar or a party, at the end of the night. Party Nails confides, "I was drinking a lot, and eventually quit, so a lot of the lyrics are about a state of inebriation and time of night, the positive, negative and in between. Other songs touch more on feeling connected or disconnected from people you love. There is a lot of masking of the truth going on in the world today, and this permeated my music during the making of the album." The majority of the album is co-produced with Benjamin Greenspan and mixed by Ryan Nasci, while the first single "Take Me Somewhere" was a collaboration with producer Summer Heart.

Party Nails' sophomore album You Don’t Have To Go Home But You Can’t Stay Here is currently available worldwide.
