The Leeds-based dream-folk duo, Sunflower Thieves have shared their latest stunning track, ‘Lichtenberg Figures’. The track is released with a brand new visual featuring the duo.
The new track takes its name from the branch-like scars or patterns which form after either the human body or the ground are struck by lightning. Like their previous two singles from their upcoming EP (‘Sirens’ and ‘I Don’t Know Why’), ‘Lichtenberg Figures’ is a track warmly wrapped in personal experience and authenticity as the duo address finding strength and life-changing experiences from moments of adversity and vulnerability.
Accompanying the release is a new video, directed by Olivia Sofia Ferrara which captures the duo’s close friendship as they are seen performing the track as they playfully spread coloured paint on each other and around a studio in shapes reminiscent of Lichtenberg figures.
Speaking on ‘Lichtenberg Figures’, Sunflower Thieves said, “We were fascinated by Lichtenberg figures because of how they can look beautiful whilst coming from something so intensely dangerous and powerful as lightning. The song is about going through something traumatic and coming out the other side stronger, proving to yourself and others that you’re unbeatable.”

Formed in Switzerland 2001 by Donovan John Szypura, Aleksandra Mirjana Crossan, and Andre Ledergerber. Earthphish later converted to a duo – Choreographer and Singer Aleksandra Mirjana Crossan and Composer and Producer Donovan John Szypura became a symbiosis of music and dance. They produced numerous award-winning contemporary dance pieces between 2001 and 2005. Their demo CD ‘Metropolis’ was produced in 2001, followed by their debut CD ‘Soft Green Exit’ in 2003. The last EP ‘Earthphish’ was released in 2006.
Earthphish fell into hibernation. They appeared in Australia in 2012 and are now based in Tasmania. Earthphish awakened in 2020 and released the single ‘Raincoat’ and ‘Rite Of Life’. Earthphish announced to release a set of singles before releasing the album called ‘Turtles All The Way Down’ in November 2020.
Lee Scratch Perry, the grandmaster of Reggae and Dub will be featured on the song ‘Deadlock’.

Bios:
FR3SH TrX is the German producer, guitarist and KHB Music label owner Sven Hessel. Already with his debut single ‘Tonight in Los Angeles‘ he was able to achieve almost 300k streams on Spotify, 1.1 million streams on Tik Tok as well as various chart positions and worldwide airplay. He was able to celebrate similar success with the follow-ups ‘It Burns Me‘ and ‘Still Dream About You‘ as well as various collabs.
O’Neal’s real name is Thomas Brueggmann and he’s been stirring up the music scene since 2011. He has already charted on Dance-Charts.de and Music-Worx. He is also known as part of the ‘The North Works‘ project, or as a remixer, e.g. for Tosch, ‘der Kofler‘ and others. He is also active in the areas of mastering and audio engineering. After the success with the track ‘Love‘ by the North Works, he has started his first own project ‘O’Neal‘.

PKAY wrote her debut album alone in a car somewhere on California’s Highway 99. Driving back and forth from the studio in Los Angeles, the 21-year-old indie-pop artist would open her iPhone’s Voice Memos app and start singing; Letters from the 99 was the result. Evoking Taylor Swift and Nina Nesbitt, it’s a haunting collection of heart-on-sleeve stories, recounted by an instantly recognizable vocalist with a clear ear for pop melodies.
Carried by broken chords on keys and slowly building strings, "pls call me" never adds percussion, but there’s a rhythm and a relatability to the chorus that give the song a haunting quality. It may be the strongest work of storytelling on the album – and on an album filled with raw stories, that’s saying something.
