LukHash returns with a darkly atmospheric, retro synth track featuring the ethereal vocals of LA-based artist, Meredith Bull. ‘Dying Breath’ is the final single released from, ‘We Are Stardust’, the new album from LukHash, forthcoming April 9th on influential, retro synth label NRW Records. The classically trained musician from Poland, now Edinburgh-based, is making waves with his innovative blend of modern electronic music production, 80’s nostalgia, dystopian cyberpunk and retro arcade gaming culture. His fanbase is global and growing fast with his last two albums topping the electronic sales charts on Bandcamp (with ‘Transient Offworld’ hitting #8 in the overall Bandcamp sales chart). His music has broken the 10 million streams barrier on Spotify, while videos of his experimentation with custom-modified Commodore 64 computers and hacked, original Nintendo Gameboys went viral on YouTube (and more recently TikTok). LukHash embraced the nostalgia of the 8-bit and 16-bit machine-generated sounds of the old Commodore 64’s and Nintendo Gameboys that he grew up listening to. Together with the 80’s pop and rock his parents loved, these influences became a significant part of his music as he began to fuse them with his contemporary productions. He became fascinated with the classic computer sound chips and shared videos of his ideas to his YouTube channel which took on a life of their own, as retro synth fans, ‘chiptune’ fanatics gamers and electronic music lovers across the world joined him in his obsession. With his skills honed LukHash now has a unique sound which he sometimes describes as ‘Chipwave’ – a fusion of synthwave, chiptune and modern electronic music.

Meredith Bull is a hugely talented artist, going viral on her own accord thanks to a creative and amusing TikTok presence, where she has now reached over 2.5m likes for her creations. She has collaborated with artists including Elijah Kelley, LSDream, and Taylor Kade. She first joined forces with LukHash last year on ‘Big In Japan’, a cover of the 80’s Alphaville classic, which was so well received that the duo have been working on more collaborations, starting with ‘Dying Breath’ – watch this space!

‘Dying Breath’ pulls the listener into a futuristic world with big chords, a jagged synth bass and acid riff creating a sense of flying through the unknown. The retro electronic beats drive things forwards while Meredith Bull’s angelic, almost dreamlike vocals add to a deeply emotive track. The chorus keeps building with the strength of a classic power ballad adding to the dystopian imagery, but somehow the track is still infused with hope for the future.

‘We Are Stardust’ will be LukHash’s ninth album underlining how prolific this artist is. NewRetroWave is recognised as the key driving force behind the burgeoning retro synth scene and NRW Records is the ideal label for LukHash. NewRetroWave has provided a platform for every significant artist creating this sound at some point as its YouTube channel has grown to over 1.13 million followers.

LukHash’s musicality is undeniable but his desire to create something new while so clearly enjoying his influences makes him an artist who stands out. ‘Lovely Girl’ takes you on a romantic journey that is perfect for pop fans and Top 40 listeners. With this song, I wanted to match my LA-style pop sound with descriptive and passionate lyrics. Without the ability to tour in 2020, I spent my time in Nashville preparing a dozen releases and collabs for this year.

New pop artist, Drew Schueler is a master at creating unique yet familiar songs full of vibrant vocals and melodies, electro-pop synth textures, electric guitar and programmed beats, similar to Lauv, Justin Bieber, and LANY.

Drew cut his teeth in Cincinnati and Nashville fronting and producing alternative pop bands but is now breaking into the pop mold. He not only wrote his entire debut EP (New Perspective), but also played all the instruments, produced and mixed the entire project himself.

“I have always been fascinated by all aspects of creating music,” Drew said. “As with any kind of art, every tiny detail matters and I love knowing everything that goes into my music.”

Along with his growing artist career, Schueler is a thriving songwriter, instrumentalist and producer, working out of his studio in Nashville.

Her impressive dexterity as a rapper is not only distinguished through her lyrical content, but also her ability to seamlessly rap over a multitude of different sounds. ‘You Don’t Wanna’ showcases powerful articulation and control, similar to her 2021 debut ‘Cause A Scene’. The juxtaposition between both tracks exemplifies TrueMendous as an artist and her eclectic sound. Chris Kelly is a Canadian artist and musician currently based in Vancouver, BC. An incredibly versatile and talented musician, he has been part of a number of bands and projects over the years, as well as pursuing a solo career.

For the last few years, Chris has been one half of Velavox, formerly Kelly and Gibson, an award-winning pop duo whose music has received more than one million streams and been featured on MTV. Songs off of Velavox’s latest EP have resulted in the pair being semi-finalists at the 2020 Unsigned Only and the 2019 International Songwriting Competition. The group also has a successful YouTube channel, with over a million views, where Chris and his partner, Nicole Gibson, post original music along with covers of popular songs.

Before moving to Vancouver, Chris was part of a Montreal-based Linkin Park cover band called Projekt Revolution. As the lead vocalist, he was tasked with singing the extraordinarily talented Chester Bennington’s parts. His time with Projekt Revolution pushed Chris and his vocal abilities and allowed him to explore a part of his voice he never knew existed. As a multi-instrumentalist, Chris has also had the opportunity to work with French artists such as Emile Bilodeau (whom he also produced his first EP) as well as with other punk and rock bands.

Chris released his debut single as a solo artist in 2020 and has released several more over the last year and his most recent single, Bittersweet, was produced by Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. Additionally, Chris streams on Twitch regularly, sharing his process for creating music with his followers.

Up and coming talent SVNF8 is here with his new EP ‘Fall Free’, and he is on a mission to change the way people perceive Electronic music. The enigmatic Producer and DJ made his first appearance in 2019, as he introduced us to his work through his track ‘Facing Reality’ on Mau5trap's ‘We Are Friends, Vol. 9' compilation. He has since been working with the Mau5trap label founded by ground-breaking Electronic music producer deadmau5, a renowned bastion for trailblazing and genre-defying artists. SVNF8 proves to be in good hands considering Mau5trap has curated success for huge names in the industry which includes Skrillex, Zedd, Noisia, Chris Lake, and Madeon.

SVNF8’s latest release is a powerful culmination of dark, forceful Techno combined with complex electro sounds that make up the 4-track EP, which will definitely have Techno fans rejoicing. The second tune is called ‘Sayin Nothin’, which starts off with an entrancing lead that develops into an intense drop where the main body of the song kicks out into an explosion of blood-pumping bass which kicks off the tune as choppy percussion fills the gaps. Just when you thought ‘Sayin Nothin’ had delivered its full potential, a vocal break resets the pace, making room for another spinetingling build-up and vigorous drop that delivers pure techno brilliance. The third tune on the EP is titled ‘Sector K’, where SVNF8 manages to ramp up the pace with thumping snares and a driving bass, overall emanating a more manic feel to it.

The star of the EP, and 1st track,  called ‘Fall Free’. It takes a slightly slower but deeper approach, which sends all of your senses into a frenzy and in turn hypnotizes you in the best way possible, leaving you totally consumed in the wildness of the music. Easing us into a solid beat with abstract synth work paired with vocal sounds, the song then erupts into a deep and dark frenzy of driving bass that instantly ramps up the pace, demonstrating that he definitely means business. The track then drops out into an aggressive bassline that proves to be infectious, accompanied by a string of industrialized sounds that layer another symphony of Techno excellence as SVNF8 once again shows off his incredible talents.

Last but not least, SVNF8 ensures the EP goes out with a bang as it finishes with ‘Won’t Go’. This speaker-splitting track features a dark, punching bassline that proves irresistible to move to as it transcends into an insatiable, hard-hitting groove that leaves you wanting to press replay as soon as it finishes. With an inimitable knack for music production, we can’t wait to see the huge impact SVNF8 has on the Techno scene, so be sure to mark your calendars in time for his next release.

[]]togethermachine is the studio outfit for drummer Marcel van As (Coparck/Spinvis) making tracks since the 2000's but until now only for his own listening enjoyment in his car. Heavily influenced by David Holmes, DJ Shadow, Beach House, Prince and Miles Davis (a.o) he released his debutalbum ‘[[]]” last november 2020, to critical acclaim Now he releases yet another project,inspired by beats Dutch drummer Mischa Porte posted to the internet during lockdown number 1, exactly one year ago on it’s release. For 70 days Mischa Porte played his lockdown blues away, for everyone to use freely. Marcel clinged on for more than 20 days and posted a track inspired by the beat of the day, everyday at 21:00h sharp. This EP is a selection of those tracks.
