Hailing from France, Doolin’ are an eclectic Celtic ensemble whose mastery of traditional Irish music has earned them an international following. Named after an Irish fishing village and largely comprising two different families, Doolin’ mix a variety of traditional and contemporary Celtic styles with elements of French folk and rock music. The band consists of brothers Nicolas Besse (guitar) and Wilfried Besse (vocals, accordion) and their cousin Sébastien Saunié (bass), along with Guilhem Cavaillé (fiddle) and brothers Jacob (whistles) and Josselin Fournel (bodhran). Since forming in 2005, they have released three studio albums as well as the 2013 concert album Live in Lorient. After signing with Compass Records, they traveled to the U.S. to record their 2016 self-titled fourth LP in Nashville, incorporating American roots music into their already unique sound.

Their new single Circus Boy (march 18th, 2022) was recorded at legendary Studio Ferber in Paris, ft the Screaming Orphans on BGVs. The track depicts a man recalling nostalgically his childhood as Circus boy in a traveling show and misses that life made of friendship & solidarity values. By referring to the virtuality of social links, isolation and individualism of the modern world this story echoes the last two years of pandemia that kept Doolin’ as many other bands from being on the road & deprived them of the happiness of sharing their music.

Moody, hypnotic, and sneakily catchy, Nancy Mounir’s debut album Nozhet El Nofous—whose title means “Promenade of the Souls” in Arabic—explores microtonality, non-metered rhythms, and bold vulnerability through a musical dialogue between Mounir’s own arrangements and the sounds of archival recordings of once-famed singers from Egypt at the turn of the 20th century.

Adding her own ambient arrangements over voices haunted with passion and desire as she creates a sound that is warmly familiar but utterly new. The full spectrum of this ambitious approach can be heard on “Gannentini,” the latest hypnotic track from the upcoming album.

It’s out June 3rd via Simsara Records, with Nancy recently performing the album at the Alexandria Opera in Cairo with the a string orchestra.

San Francisco-based indie duo The Feelings Parade announce their debut album Let It Move You due August 19. Today, the songwriters share their next single and first track from the record, “The Tides.”

The captivating single vocalizes the discomfort we feel when the temporary homes we build, whether it be relationships, identities, or self-images are inevitably taken from us. The track opens the album with modular synth wave sounds created by synth legend Suzanne Ciani and a slow-burning growth of resonant strings and guitar, accompanied by a video.

In discussing the song, both singer-songwriters, Scott Ferreter and Morgan Bolender said, “In some ways, the song represents the mindset we both met in. In that way, there’s an honoring of a sort of spiritual queerness.”

Double A.B. (NYC) teams up with indie rap icons Breeze Brewin & Napoleon Da Legend to deliver “Rembrandt Death Chant,” an ode to the art of war, Sun Tzu style. The trio trade bars like weathered war generals over smooth soulful production provided by Parallel Thought. Occupy the streets with Deserto Parallax’ „Song of Fortune“

Gather on the streets, people! Let’s be confident!. Is the new song by Deserto Parallax (to be released on the 29. of April) an ode to positive thinking? The people who know the singer Maximilian Tzortzatos and his band, furthermore have seen them live, know the answer to that question.

A colorful and diverse bunch of people in a peaceful parade through the streets of the Lorraine-Quarter in Bern, including Adaya up front, plucking the mandolin. There are groups of kids, women, men, citizens, humans and even some actors and actresses that are known city-wide.

Glassio’s debut single “Try Much Harder” broke the Spotify Global Viral Charts in early 2016 (peaking at No. 9). A series of successful singles followed in 2017 and 2018, garnering over 5 million streams cumulatively on Spotify. The release of the singles “Morning House,” “Daydream” and “Back for More” brought Glassio to the top tier of up and coming electronic artists in NYC. His sophomore record See You Shine, a 17-song album that documents the exodus of a young adult out of a small town that shuns them for their beliefs and into the depths of the deserts of Arizona, looking for a new life in a distant city is out now. The record also addresses themes of resilience in the face of grief/loss – brought on by the pandemic – and is dedicated to his late father. The album’s sound marries Glassio’s passion for French and British electronic music with singer-songwriter tropes akin to Jackson Browne, or Wilco.
