A wonderful indie pop track with a depth!.
Let’s make this clear. somegirlnamedanna is not a brand. It is not an image. It is not an alter ego. Instead, it is the story of Anna, “a girl with a name like all of us are.” Born and raised in a remote area of Minnesota, her imagination flourished without television or social media. An antique grand piano in the living room called to her as she repeated melodies and jingles from the radio by ear as a young child. While painting in the kitchen, mom played classics by Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, and Tori Amos fueling her daughter’s love for music and the arts, in general. JohnSam – Time
(Spotify)

Artist said about this song: "Shortly before I started writing the song, I had just lost some people who meant the world to me. And in my grief, I tried to find someone to blame. I chose time itself and directly confront it in this song. "Why did you run?" "Was I too ungrateful growing up?". I am searching for answers on why I lost them and why their time had to end. But deep down I already know that I'm the one to blame for that. Because I should have spent and enjoyed more time with them as I had the chance. It took me too long to realise that Time is actually a friend of mine and did not appreciate it enough."
