With elements of traditional Irish Folk music, tells the story of many people carrying the love for Ireland even being away. It’s a song for all the emigrants and for all that have the opportunity to live there. Featuring Chanele McGuinness.”

“Elements of Electro & Synth Pop are clearly intertwined in the track, and all the parts do not try to seize the initiative, but only complement each other, creating a perfectly balanced composition. -Lydia Mel- did a really bright and energetic job that will leave a mark on your memory!”

“В треке отчётливо переплетаются элементы Electro & Synth Pop и все партии не пытаются перехватить инициативу, а лишь дополняют друг друга создавая отлично сбалансированную композицию. -Lydia Mel- проделала по-настоящему яркую и энергичную работу, которая оставит след в вашей памяти!”

Sometimes you're waiting for something a long time, & then it happens in a moment you expected it the least - in a different way than you thought it was gonna take place. This midtempo electro-pop song invites the listeners on a journey where catchy melodies build on each other, surprising with both intimate & powerful passages - also implying that sometimes the journey is as important as the destination & waiting sth rather active than passive. “The melody evenly fills the volleys, telling your story in the silence of the bay, circling in the silent and boundless spaces of fantasies. Monumentality in every note, symphonic passages and an inexhaustible source of good mood and peace of mind.”

“Мелодия равномерно накатывает волнами, раскачивая вашу лодку в объятия тихого залива, погружая в уютные и безграничные просторы фантазии. Монументальность в каждой ноте, симфонические пассажи и неиссякаемый источник хорошего настроения и умиротворённого душевного покоя.”

Chafa is an emerging pianist, producer, and composer based out of Los Angeles. He is currently preparing to launch onto the global music scene with his first two singles ready to drop imminently.

Chada said about this new track "I wrote the melody of "Luminescence" during the height of the lockdown period - it's meant to mimic the feeling of unfamiliarity with people and places you love dearly, but due to current circumstances, you must maintain a level of distance and caution with them. "

Dylan Cox- The Comet (Video)

Categories: Rock, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“A mysterious work filled with melancholy and light nostalgia. Conceptual, deeply meaningful work in the Folk genre, with a wide field for thought, thoughtful text and a strong emotional message.”

“Загадочное, наполненное меланхолией и лёгкой ностальгией произведение. Концептуальная, насыщенная глубоким смыслом работа в жанре Folk, с широким полем для размышлений, вдумчивым текстом и сильным эмоциональным посылом. ”

-Nagamag.com

“The Comet” is home as a moving object: the love we have for another or a place and how it moves, how it changes. What the song confronts and achingly accepts is the built-in loss that comes with loving, the fact that we will in some way or another lose whom or what we love, or we as loved people will be lost by another. A comet briefly occupies the sky as a rare passing, it leaves, and in that departure promises a return in some impossible and inhuman time form. What’s “too easy” in the chorus is to let the anticipatory grief of loss outshine the miracle of finding home in another, in finding family, in the first place. The song is a declaration of love, but also a deeply autobiographical reflection on Dylan’s life, who was adopted by a different family in his teens.

The song was written in one of the byzantine-art-deco tiled bathrooms that adjoin the palatial rooms of La Villa Magnan, in the southwest of France. Dylan often performed there to experiment with the enormous acoustic sounds of singing in big rooms. Part of the bigness of the vocals and the string-like melodies of the post-choruses, in this song and others, comes from these spaces, as well as the giant “orangerie” of the villa, a room originally built to nurse orange trees in the cold of winter. Dylan trained his voice and rehearsed there for over two years.

The music video, co-directed by Dylan and photographer Melvin Israel, is another experimentation with metaphors. Dylan created a 40 meter long piece of fabric and dyed it yellow to mimic a scarf of his that was a gift from a close friend. In the mythological looking landscape of the Spanish coastline, dancers Hortense de Gromard and Pierre Lamour choreograph a means of approaching each other. They hold each end of the fabric, slowly tracing a path towards a comet-like center where they finally meet.

de ROCHE – 1k lbs (Spotify)

“The multi-artist Liz DeRoche offers her impressive single, with Rock taste, rich percussion patterns and expressive vocals. Don't skip this fascinating crystal sound packed with positive energy.”

-Nagamag.com

A lover of adventurous and voracious pop, de ROCHE mines emotional depths for rock-solid songs that range from soulful electronica to hot folk. A new solo project from drummer, keyboardist, and singer Liz DeRoche, it's the culmination of two decades in the music industry as a band member (The Pushovers, Cane & The Sticks), producer, studio musician, teaching artist, and record label manager.

As de ROCHE, Liz mixes synthy smoothness with a raw emotionality to create an idiosyncratic style that she bravely embraces. With 2021’s release of Big Let Down, she serves up tender yet strong songs based on real heartache and other revelations from a wanderlustful life.

“It’s the emotional impact I’m looking for," says Liz. “I want to make meaningful music that people will take very personally.”

Husko – Feel The Heat (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, House, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“New dancefloor dynamite, out now from "Husko". Realize the power of this House vibe which can raise the temperature in hot levels. Steady beat, funky melody and uplifting vocals. What else do you need to start the dance?”

-Nagamag.com

If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen – but if you’re fly enough to ‘Feel The Heat’, you’ve got a hot one on your hands. Husko hits a summer house home run slash disco slam dunk, opening with a punkish bassline and then introducing a killer double act that cements the track’s status as absolutely boogiesome. Diva wisdom on vocals - keeping matters pushin’ on but never a pushover - and a gloriously glam Rhodes groove stuffed on soul food, get Husko’s beats cooking, the results earning chef’s kisses all round.

A conqueror of the local scene and now with global gains stacking up nicely, including hundreds of thousands of Spotify streams, Maltese producer Husko has worked his way into the record boxes and onto the hard drives of Amine Edge and DANCE, Dennis Sulta and Annie Mac, who gave strong backing to Husko’s ‘One Night Stand’ on her weekend-starting BBC Radio 1 show. Husko’s hold on house has seen him open live for the likes of Patrick Topping, Mark Knight and Mella Dee, and serve up club essentials for Toolroom Records, Glasgow Underground and CUFF.

Earlier this year Husko released ‘Love Can’ on Be Yourself Music, a pure piece of uplifting house showing his commitment to keeping core dance music values alive. Such attention to the groove means Malta’s main man is guaranteed a warm reception wherever he goes.

The Haze & Dacey Collective – Jezebel’s (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Jazz, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“A filigree track that is so detailed and honed to shine that it makes you fall in love from the very first seconds. Deep female vocals, professional acoustic work with a measured rhythm, and imperceptible, but very beautiful piano notes.”

“Филигранный трек, который настолько детально проработан и отточен до блеска, что влюбляет в себя с самых первых секунд. Глубокий женский вокал, профессиональная акустическая работа с размеренным ритмом и незаметными, но очень красивыми фортепианными нотками.”

-Nagamag.com

In February of 2021, the band masked up and headed into the warehouse that served as the temporary home of the Sound of Music Studio in Richmond, Virginia. In the capable hands of recording and mixing engineer John Morand, they brought Haze’s musical vision to life. The process took several months, with recording and mixing sessions interrupted by everyone’s day jobs and “other annoying adult obligations”.

https://hazyshadeproductions.com/band

On the album, Haze handles lead and some backing vocals, acoustic guitar, and piano, while Dacey holds down the low end with both upright and electric bass as well as backing vocals. The Collective fleshes out the sound with drums (Blee Child), electric guitar (Leslie Williams), mandolin (Doug Austin), saxophone (Allen Burris), and additional vocals (Jolie Harrison, Megan Rollins, and Doug Hewitt).

The album as a whole defies categorization into a single genre. Straightforward roots-rock, alt-country/indie-folk, speakeasy swing, a lullaby, and a piano ballad that shifts into something like gospel, all coexist on an album that concludes with a piece that would be right at home on a musical theater stage. The common thread is the stories of people hanging on to love, hope, courage, and humanity, while trying to survive the dystopian nightmare that is Gilead.

John William Richard – Song for a Ghost (Video)

Categories: Neoclassical, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“-John William Richard- wrote a real fairy tale story, like Alice in Wonderland, immerse yourself in the rabbit Nora. Melodic piano, so calm and meditative, soothes and beautifies. Beautiful, warm and a little melancholic, dive into a beautiful story created by the author.”

“-John William Richard- написал настоящую сказку, слушая которую ты, словно Алиса из Страны Чудес, погружаешься в кроличью нору. Мелодия пиано, такая спокойная и медитативная, манит тебя, успокаивает и убаюкивает. Прекрасное, доброе и немного меланхоличное погружение в красивую историю созданную автором.”

-Nagamag.com

Drawing influences from the likes of Olafur Arnalds, Erased Tapes and Erland Cooper as well indie artists such as Wolf Alice and War On Drugs, John William Richards unveils his final single ahead of his debut album release, with a stunningly animated video from Rachael Olga Lloyd.

https://johnwilliamrichard.bandcamp.com/

“When John and I first talked about making the video he told me he had based the whole album on his beautiful old collection of photos. I used this for inspiration, recreating the items from the photos like the chairs, gramophone, boat and headphones.” explains Rachel, “I wanted the whole video to feel like you were chasing these memories from the photos in an attempt to connect with the people there in the past. But the memories like the rooms start to break down and we can sadly never truly connect with the people in them as they are just out of reach. If you watch carefully you can catch these ghosts disappearing into the shadows of the rooms!”

https://twitter.com/JohnWilliamRic3

Often things come full circle. As a child John William Richard’s love affair with music began as a classically trained musician, with hours spent studying both the piano and cello. However a lifetime has been spent elsewhere, from, amongst other things, fronting a new romantic group, managing artists, starting a label and running a nightclub. With the release of his debut album, Song for a Ghost, this November, John William Richard returns to the rigour of the Classical tradition, mixing that with flashes of contemporary electronica, creating something that is both intimate and breathtakingly cinematic.

https://www.facebook.com/John-William-Richard-101107908430561

“I think in film images when I write and as the world comes into focus the scene emerges and the internal director takes over. But really it was not until the tracks started coming that I got more confident in how it might work out. The title track, Song For A Ghost, however gave me the key to unlock the vision of an album based on memories from various childhoods mixed with a cinematic imagining of their performance. As the recording developed, the more focussed these all became”

https://www.instagram.com/john_william_richard/

Much of the recording was done in his home studio in Bath, but from early on one of his main concerns was to breathe some organic life into. To get the piano sound he wanted he decamped to the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales.

“I set off to Rockfield in search of the grand piano sound to replace some of the main piano parts. This proved a success but a challenge musically as by then I had managed to get some great cello and trumpet parts played by Michelle Packman in LA and Ryan Svendesen in San Francisco respectively. Playing to a grid is fine but I do like the music to move fractionally and almost stumble where needed, so to reproduce that after the fact so to speak is fun to say the least!”

With over 20 compositions recorded and ready to go, and a growing list of collaborators, both home and abroad, including the introduction of Bruno Ellingham (Massive Attack, UNKLE) to mix the record, John William Richard’s return to his musical roots is taking on a new life of its own.
