Skripture – Journey (Video)

Categories: Hip-Hop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“In track -Journey- you discover emotion, melodies, and, most importantly, the right vocal harmonies. All that gives makes music soulful. Very powerful vocals in the tradition of old-school hip-hop artists for a bright screen that hides a kind soul.”

“В -Journey- есть эмоция, мелодика и, что самое важное, вокальные гармонии. Всё это придаёт музыке душевность. Очень мощный вокал, в лучших традициях старой школы hip-hop исполнителей, за яркой ширмой которых прячется добрая душа.”

Skripture Re-Emerges Releasing His Highly Anticipated Music Video

https://www.skripture.co.uk/

The South West London Rapper/Producer Is Back on The Rap Scene With More Creativity and Drive

Skripture is dropping his first music video today, “Journey” to kick start the campaign on his latest EP Bally. With 2 EP releases already this year, Multi-talented Skripture gives us his first visuals to his thought-provoking single.

“Journey” is produced, written and mixed and mastered by Skripture. The song contains poignant lyrics revealing the vicious cycle of life when coming from the inner city of London, the bad and ugly and the long-lasting impacts it has on the heart, mind and soul. How you have to keep moving forward, even if you’re afraid, things aren’t fair or you don’t know where you’re gonna end up.

“It was inspired by the surroundings I grew up in and how they affected my decision making in situations that could have ended up with me paying a heavy price. Even though I knew better I still put myself in those situations. It’s a very personal track, hopefully people will see the message I was trying to portray with the concept.”

“Tearing all conceivable patterns vocal passages, the general dynamics and energetic pace easily sneaks up ants. Quality R & B at its best manifestation.”

“Разрывающие все мыслимые и немыслимые шаблоны вокальные пассажи, общая динамика и энергичный темп с лёгкостью пробирает до мурашек. Качественное R&B в лучшем его проявление.”

Elvis Vierbergen (ThisIsLema) is an international DJ/Producer born in Congo in 1993. At the age of 2, Elvis got adopted by a Dutch family and has lived in The Netherlands ever since. The name ThisIsLema has an important background story for Elvis which is also the reason he decided to use this as his artist name. As Elvis got adopted, together with his sister, she (at the age of 2) kept saying ‘’Lema’’ after the adoption. As his adoption parents assumed, he then must have been named Lema. However, at a later age they found out Lema was actually the name of their father and Elvis was his real name. As a respect to his ancestry he quickly decided that ThisIsLema would be the name to go by.

Bad Habits – Love Me/Hate Me – Acoustic (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“The vocals in -Love Me / Hate Me - are a veritable lyrical volcano that erupts up to crimson skies. Singing somewhere in the upper atmosphere, squeezes the chest in the most vulnerable place. And your heart skips a beat. Bravo! -Bad Habits- hit the sweet spot.”

“Вокал в -Love Me/Hate Me- настоящий лирический вулкан, который извергается до багровых небес. Поющий где-то в верхних слоях атмосферы, он сдавливает грудь в самом уязвимом месте. И ваше сердце замирает. Браво! -Bad Habits- попали в точку.”

-Nagamag.com

“Love Me/Hate Me” is a song about trying to love someone while suffering from BPD (borderline personality disorder). A daily ongoing struggle, trying to convince yourself that all the lies your mind creates aren't real...

https://www.instagram.com/whatisrocknroll

Bad Habits is a collective of Jo (vocals), Ellie (vocals/bass), Severin (lead guitar), Spiros (guitar), and Apostol (drums) based in Athens, Greece. The band’s eclectic style pulls diverse elements of classic and punk rock for a unique, modern sound with a kick of 70s nostalgia.

The culmination of a decade-and-a-half’s worth of collaboration and experimentation, including ventures into acoustic pop, hardcore punk, and beyond, Bad Habits was established in the fall of 2018. Though initially intended to be a cover band, it wasn’t long before the project took on a life of its own. Drawing on diverse rock influences, the group took to the studio to show off their full potential (and distinctive style).

Now fresh off the heels of their debut single, “California,” Bad Habits are gaining serious traction in the alternative music scene. Rooted in uncompromising authenticity, they serve as a beacon for relatable self-expression and the obliteration of senseless stereotyping with their sharp Rock & Roll edge.

With 15 more songs slated for release, the band is looking forward to a continued upward trajectory through 2021.

Luminem, IKSRE – Mind Stroll (feat. IKSRE) (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Sometimes, the music takes you by the hand and leads you away from the surrounding bustle. It helps reflect the endless barrage of fire in the bustling streets of cities. In this case -Mind Stroll- is a great opportunity to build at least for a moment, a high barrier and allow yourself to let go of everything.”

“Бывает, музыка берёт тебя за руку и уводит прочь от окружающей суеты. Помогает отразить шквал бесконечного огня шумных улиц городов. В таком случае -Mind Stroll- это прекрасная возможность возвести хотя бы на мгновение высокий барьер и позволить себе отпустить всё и вся. ”

-Nagamag.com

Luminem’s third release Mind Stroll is quite a departure from her first two releases. With a more sombre undertone, Mind Stroll is an exploration through the recesses of one’s mind.

The left hand plays a steady ostinato throughout, giving some sense of stability, while the right hand moves from melancholic to a more urgent, slightly eery expression.

Featuring Phoebe Dubar aka IKSRE on violas which bring an added depth of emotion, there is an unresolved tension that carries throughout the piece.

Mind Stroll is the third single from Luminem's debut EP set to release mid 2021.

.

Nagamag:
Which are the genres that describe your music style better?

Chafa:
Piano-led, cinematic, & ambient contemporary classical music.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Chafa:
I began teaching myself piano when I was twelve years old, but I always loved music. Growing up in the Bay Area (California), I was introduced to several different cultures and styles of music.
It wasn't long before I felt the need to express my own thoughts and feelings through art, and piano was the instrument I felt the most connected to.

Before the pandemic, I would perform locally, but after spending time recording and releasing my music during this last year, I have my eyes set on creating music for film and potentially collaborating with other composers and orchestras.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Chafa:
Seeing performers on the street as a kid really inspired me. Watching their music move people to dance, smile, laugh, or cry was inspiring. I wouldn't learn an instrument for several more years, but my love for music continued to grow until I felt the urge one day to sit down and play some of the songs I loved so much.

Nagamag:
Many artists listen to genres that they are not producing music for. Which track is your favorite that is NOT similar to yours?

Chafa:
Beirut "Elephant Gun"

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which is the track from a similar artist you admire?

Chafa:
Max Richter "Written on the Sky"

Tom Moriarty – Hurricane (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Drawn by deep and recognizable elements of rock art, multifaceted arrangement, elegant and lively acoustic guitar. Lulling romantic image, a mirage uncontrollable vortex of fire and elegant dance sound modulations.”

“Глубоко прочерченные и узнаваемые элементы арт-рока, многогранная аранжировка, изящная и живая акустическая гитара. Убаюкивающие романтическими образы, мираж неконтролируемых вихрей огня и изящный танец звуковых переливов.”

Artist shared with Nagamag his story behind this song inspiration:

" To be honest I wrote this song about a homeless girl. It's not one I know but it's her story. When I wrote this song I saw her, going from place to place, the arguments, the sorrow. There are those that can not see how people can become homeless, that sometimes there are people that will have no where to go. We are all closer than we like to think. I found this photo below that to me represented that girl. She's trying to make things better but really she's on the run. Sometimes she's running from people and other times she's running from things in the past, things within her. It's often that people might not see the reasons, or know how to deal with them. So I write this line "You've been running for so long, but do you really know what you're running from". For me homelessness in the 21st century is totally unacceptable. People are so prejudice. I met this person once who honestly said, "homeless people want to be homelesss". And I'm like what the fuck. The point is that when you have people like that in power then you have people like this homeless girl on the streets. Things gotta change. Anyway, here's the song about her called "Hurricane.

JODOQ – Hunch (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“We found a promising work from a new young artist. "Hunch" is not the typical music single, but moves some steps away. By binding Trip-Hop with Classical waves of sound, occurs a mix with dynamic and vibrating progression... surely remarkable and worthy.”

-Nagamag.com

„Hunch“ is about the pain and heartache that comes from desperately craving for someones love and affection, who just can’t quite return these feelings. Attached, unable to get closer or to let go, trapped by your own emotions.

Deep synth-bass, drunk drumbeats and a beautiful string arrangement combined with creative sounddesign and background choirs gently hug JODOQ's voice in a complex but still catchy, dark and dreamy popsong.

Zurich's JODOQ kicks off his career with a blast. The experts at M4music, which took place last week, are so convinced by his song „Hunch“ that they voted the track the most promising Swiss pop song of the year.

Solar Powered Moon Town – I’m a Monster, Can’t You See? (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Electronica, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“Rich in the sonic palette and slightly psychedelic -I'm a Monster, Can not You See -? Is a living example of a creative incorruptible man. Captivates its integrity and self-sufficiency. Love to experiment and tube sound synthpop captured in every note.”

“Богатая на звуковую палитру и немного психоделическая -I'm a Monster, Can't You See?- живой пример творчески нетленного человека. Подкупает своей цельностью и самодостаточностью. Любовь к экспериментам и ламповому звучанию synthpop улавливается в каждой ноте.”

-Nagamag.com

"I'm a monster, can't you see?" is a song about the beauty of emotions, about vegetables, radical honesty and about the wild, animalic creature of love. It's a passionate rebellion against the manner of locking the creature in cages out of fear that it might disappear eventually.

Artist Quote:

"I'm a monster, can't you see?" is a song, that I wrote reflecting back on my marriage and different relationship struggles I experienced. Relationships always felt like cages to me and breaking out of that cage always made me feel like the villain, as if it was a crime to commit. I am wondering if I can ever be honest with myself in a relationship. And I'm wondering if I can ever really be myself in there.

There is a beauty in love and the rush of emotions. I can relate to the need of locking that wild, animalic creature into a cage. But I'm not a friend of zoos apparently."

Nelson Elle – Smile (Spotify)

“In the world, there are many musical works of varying quality. The single -Smile- carefully preserved the great sound of musical parts, melodic solos, and magnificent vocals by -Nelson Elle-.”

“В мире существует множество музыкальных творений самого разного качества. В сингле -Smile- бережно сохранено отличное звучание всех музыкальных партий, мелодичные соло и умопомрачительный вокал -Nelson Elle-.”

-Nagamag.com

Writing to understand yourself better. Singing to give your own context a voice. Developing as a person in and from your own music. For Nelson Elle, this takes the form of powerful, emotional and melodic pop. Firmly grounded in jazz, blues and soul, she is – in her mother’s words – “a bright soul who’s not afraid of the dark, a multifaceted artist who spreads joy with masked sorrow.”

Smile is haunting radio pop, in the best possible way. One of those songs that make you happy while still bringing tears to your eyes. You want to dance and break free, but you’re also on the verge of a breakdown. One of those songs that you want to continue forever.
