“Wasn’t Love” is the latest single from Los Angeles based singer-songwriter, Specific Coast. His debut single “Home” found success having been prominently featured in the hit Netflix series, Ginny & Georgia. With over 5k playlist adds, 10k Shazam’s, and his first airplay on BBC Scotland’s The Roddy Hart Show under his belt, Specific Coast returns with his melancholic single, “Wasn’t Love.”

Specific Coast is singer-songwriter, Matt Dunne. Dunne picked up the guitar at the age of 13 and soon after began teaching himself how to sing. Drawing comparisons to bands like The Lumineers and The Head and the Heart, Specific Coast often mixes finger-picking acoustic guitars with heartfelt lyrics.

“‘Wasn’t Love’ might be my most relatable song I’ve written. Everyone has experienced a relationship ending too soon. Maybe it’s bad timing. Maybe it’s a childish fight or a miscommunication. Either way, someone gets hurt. The song itself feels ancient to me. I wrote it in 2016 when I was struggling with relationships, both platonic and romantic.” - Matt Dunne

A veteran of the music industry, Dunne has held positions in concert promotion, artist management, music publishing, and label management. After multiple peers in the industry had come to him for guidance, Dunne created Cactus Coast, a community where artists, songwriters, engineers, and producers could help each other achieve their goals. Dunne began hosting backyard concerts at his home in Silver Lake, providing a unique, intimate setting for artists like Royal & the Serpent to perform. Dunne used this safe space to test out new material for his own project, Specific Coast. Eventually the house shows turned into networking events, which turned into writing sessions, which turned into songs, which turned into several placements in a Netflix series. After years of helping others transform their dreams into realities, Specific Coast returns with his second single of 2021, “Wasn’t Love.”

Mirabai Ceiba and Markéta Irglová – Take On a Thousand Forms [Official Music Video] (Video)

Categories: Rock, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“This composition for a moment hugs the listener with fragile shoulders and makes it clear that won’t let him go. It turned out burning so beautifully, that without listening, it would have been a big mistake. Beautiful acoustic work with an incredible vocal strength.”

“Эта композиция в мгновение обнимает своего слушателя за хрупкие плечи и даёт понять, что уже не отпустит. Получилось настолько прекрасно, животрепещуще, что не послушав её, было бы большой ошибкой. Прекрасное акустическое произведение с невероятным по силе своей вокалом.”

The serene beauty of duo Mirabai Ceiba’s upcoming album The Quiet Hour is a timely antidote, set for an August 27th release on Spirit Voyage. Mastered by Martyn Heyne (7K!), gently plucked strings and beckoning textures lead the listener on an inward journey of calm centeredness. Angelika Baumbach’s voice wells up like an undulating stream, blossoming forth with sublime poetry.

The deep, loving bond between Baumbach and her musical life partner—multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Markus Sieber (Aukai)—is palpable, as their instruments and voices intertwine on Mirabai Ceiba’s most intimate and meditative album to date.

“Take On A Thousand Forms” is the stunning new collaboration with Czech singer-songwriter Markéta Irglová (best known for her role in 2007’s Once and its Oscar winning song “Falling Slowly”). The song was created for a poem by Johann Wolfgang Goethe, and is out today. It embraces calm acoustics, an inward pulse, and the defining quality of silence.

“A beautiful, sad instrumental that features a fingerpicked acoustic guitar. So crisp and melodic, the guitar strings ring out and fill you with a sense of yearning. Speaking of strings the undercurrent of mellow, way back in the mix string instruments, really add to the melancholic ambience. For those that have played an acoustic guitar it’s that tune you had in your head that didn’t quite materialise. ”

Gawain and The Green Knight – Fingers (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Very smooth quality song and original music that you like listening with great interest, again and again. It reserves an unusual experience for those who first come in contact with that kind of music. Magic... not otherwise.”

“Очень ровная по качеству материала и весьма оригинальная музыка, которую слушаешь с большим интересом вновь и вновь. -Fingers- оставляет необычные впечатления для тех слушателей, которые впервые соприкоснулись с подобной музыкой. Магия, не иначе.”

-Nagamag.com

Leading up to the June 11th release of their new EP, A Sleeping Place, Gawain and the Green Knight have released the single, “Fingers.” Filled with allegory and inspired by literature and mythology, the duo calls their sound, “folk for people who like to listen to music while pacing mournfully yet poignantly through the streets, pretending they’re the protagonist in a very beautiful film.” Listen to “Fingers” HERE.

http://smarturl.it/FingersbyGawain

“Fingers” is “a love song for my soon-to-be husband [bandmate Mike O’Malley], simple as that,” says singer/guitarist Alexia Antoniou, and one of her only auto-biographical songs. She found inspiration in an unusual place - on an airplane, when they were unable to get seats together. “I had been reading Madeline Miller’s Song of Achilles and finished it mid-flight and was just completely emotionally devastated. I wasn’t just teary-eyed, I was outright weeping- so much so that the woman next to me took one look at me and started turning up the volume on her little headrest TV,” Antoniou recalls. “I managed to make meaningful eye contact with Mike across the aisle, and with a few gestures of the head, he agreed to meet me near the airplane toilets so I could cry some more on him. ‘Fingers’ was inspired by that whispered conversation.”

O’Malley produced the song with that same intimate, hushed atmosphere. “I wanted to ride the line of all-the-way-in-love and all-the-way-scared. And I wanted Alexia to sound like she was alone in the dark with a torch,” he says. “Sparseness and reverb seemed the order of things - a little Rhodes piano here, a little bowed bass there.”

Inspired by the etymology of the Greek word for cemetery, which simply means “a sleeping place,” the EP sits comfortably in the deep, sometimes dark, parts of the subconscious, arranged in such a way that you remember why life can be so joyful in the first place, its tempo anything but sad. “I think of this EP as a love letter, full of desperate affection, to anyone who has ever been alive and been scared to die,” Antoniou states.

“Death is loud, but it doesn’t mean you were never heard.”

A Sleeping Place will be released on June 11, 2021.

Gaining massive momentum for his single ‘Moments’ Blaise surprises fans with the acoustic stripped back version of his 2021 release, which premiered exclusively via Wonderland. The tastemaker publication praises the depth of the single: ‘Leaving behind the dance floor-ready Balearic tones on the original, the acoustic version captures the true meaning behind the single, letting us hone in on every powerful lyric and tonal change.’

The acoustic video follows off the back of his floorfiller, ‘Moments’, which has to date earned a wide range of support from Radio 1 by Rickie, Melvin and Charlie, as well as DJ Pioneer and Joel Corry on KISS FM.

Possessing a cantering bassline, Balearic tones and an exceptional drop that climaxes on every hook, the marriage of BLAISE’s production with Poppy Baskcomb’s powerful, soul driven lyrics is one of sheer dancefloor heaven. Reaching into the emotions stirred by the current world situation, the lyrics for ‘Moments’ allows the mind to escape and enjoy the feeling of good vibes and freedom.

BLAISE explains “This song for me is one of my personal favourites to date. The words reflect the moment of the current world situation. With Poppy’s soulful voice, catchy vocals and melody, I’m very excited about this release.”

The British DJ and producer, who relocated to the world’s most elite party destination to take up 2 DJ residency’s last year, is already a major name on the club circuit. Having previously toured the world as a DJ for the home of dance music, Ministry of Sound, he has also featured extensively across radio, including Kiss FM, with his exclusive guest mixes. With a sound that is classic and infectious, his previous productions have released on renowned dance labels including DVINE Sounds, Stashed & Todd Terry’s Inhouse Records and garnered extensive support across Radio 1’s Dance Anthems and the Kiss network. Prior to his current collaboration with 22-year-old Poppy Baskcomb, BLAISE has also teamed up with Alex Mills, Karen Harding & Azello, and is under the management of music mogul & hit record writer Jin Jin (Jax Jones, Jess Glynne, David Guetta)

Adding her incredible musical flair and a powerful dimension to BLAISE’s production on ‘Moments’, singer/songwriter Poppy Baskcomb perfectly twins powerful melodic ideas with inventive lyrical concepts. “This song is about those moments where you stop in the crowd and take in the euphoria around you. Moments I’m sure we all miss currently.” says Poppy about the track, before continuing, “Hopefully you’ll enjoy this song, as much as we enjoyed making it. I’ll see you all soon with a drink in hand and we can dance to this, when clubs reopen.”

Since signing to TaP Music Publishing in 2018, she’s been writing in the UK, Sweden and Norway with recent collaborations including Punctual, Nathan Dawe, Ella Henderson, Mel C, Dimension, Conor Maynard, KALM and Eli Brown.

A track destined for virality and sound systems the world over, BLAISE and Poppy Baskcomb deliver us ‘Moments’ not to be missed.

Matt Woosey Band – Let It Flow | WeLive Festival | Live im Schlachthof | Corona Concert (Video)

Categories: Jazz, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“A WeLive Festival release, ‘Let It Flow’ by the Matt Woosey band is a brilliant, energetic live performance by a very talented multi-piece band. Bluesy, Funky, Jazzy & at times laid back. The verse has a Doobie Brothers (Long Train Running) vibe. The guitars are superb as are the gritty solo, & soulful harmony vocals. This is a great band in ‘Full Flow.’”

WeLive Festival releases concert film with Matt Woosey Band

https://www.mattwoosey.co.uk/

The German concert film series “WeLive Festival” will release its eighth episode on May 23. A first part of the movie – the video to the song “Let It Flow” – is now released. The protagonist of the approximately 45-minute film is the musician Matt Woosey, who has already been nominated three times for the British Blues Award, with his eight-piece blues/folk formation “Matt Woosey Band.”

“It was a very special opportunity for the Matt Woosey Band to come together during Corona to do something creative and just play together again”, Matt Woosey explained after the filming. Due to the Corona pandemic, the band had not performed together on stage for over a year. Due to sanitation measures to protect against the Corona virus, the filming took place in private and without an audience in front of ten cameras. “Playing without an audience is a strange thing, but the whole team and everyone from Rockwerkstatt Lahr came together to make it a fantastic day,” Woosey thanked the organizers. “Thanks to everyone involved and the guys in the band.”

The WeLive Festival has already been releasing high-quality concert film productions featuring artists from a wide range of genres since May 2020. For example, progressive rock band Dead Venus, classical pianist Pervez Mody, singer-songwriter Dominik Büchele and heavy metal band OIL have already performed in front of the 10 to 15 cameras of the production company punchline studio. In 2020, the concert film series was awarded the German Rock&Pop Prize for the promotion of music culture. Currently, “WeLive” is also nominated for the prestigious nationwide “alternative media award”.

“Imagine yourself relaxing on a yacht, dangling your legs into the relaxingly warm sea. You are somewhere in the South of France and it feels like the late 60’s or early 70’s. Is that Bardot beside you, peering at you from under her sunglasses & sipping a long cool drink as you both listen to ‘Alba’ singing ‘Tralalas’ on the radio? The sun beats down, the wonderfully azure water gently laps around your ankles & all is good with the world. Mmm so soothing.”
