Artist said about this song:

"I wrote 'Do You Remember' after I had a strange dream about my high school sweetheart. It made me think about lost memories like that time we watched the Joy Division movie Control and I cried my eyes out, or how we always smoked cigarettes in his bed. Or how small I felt when we talked about me wanting to be a musician. It felt kinda liberating writing a song about him. Anyhow - it made me wonder if he remembers these things too."

Do You Remember is a lovely, low-key indie song about a teenage love. Penny’s vocals have an emotional intensity to it that’s unparalleled in the pop industry today, like she’s directly addressing you - making you feel your listening to your own memories. The acoustic guitar provides the driving force behind the song - played with a steady beat and layered multiple times on top of the mix, giving the whole thing a mystical and dreamy side, perfect for late night reminiscing on a hot summer night. Paul Demer – Joy in Limitation

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Who needs such songs that do not cause sincere feelings, mental resonance and do not fill your body with positive energy? A new acoustic composition from -Paul Demer is able to wake your cooling heart so that it begins to beat stronger than the previous one.” (Automatically Translated with Google Translate)

“Кому нужны такие песни, которые не вызывают искренних чувств, душевного резонанса и не наполняют ваше тело положительной энергетикой? Новая акустическая композиция от -Paul Demer- способна разбудить ваше остывающее сердце, чтобы оно начало биться сильнее прежнего.”

A song about Holy Matrimony, and cheap dates, and browsing guitars on reverb.com, and that elderly woman who walks to the memory care facility every afternoon to sit with her husband who can’t remember her name. There’s a joy in limitation.

Catatron – Dreamcatcher

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“This sweet and such delicate melody of Indie Folk can be compared with an ancient fairy tale, which for the night of many of us in childhood sang a cool wind outside the window. On the other side of sleep, we were afraid of gray wolves and monsters, but each time, falling asleep, fell into beautiful and kind dreams. The charming vocals of a no less charming story.” (Automatically Translated with Google Translate)

“Этом милую и такую нежную мелодию Indie Folk можно сравнить с древней сказкой, которую на ночь многим из нас в детстве пел прохладный ветер за окном. По ту сторону сна мы боялись серых волков и монстров, но каждый раз, засыпая, проваливались в прекрасные и добрые сновидения. Очаровательный вокал повествующий не менее очаровательную историю.”

Miller Roberts is the moniker of 25 year old songwriter Millie Robertson from Newcastle, Australia. The daughter of a travelling preacher and one of five children, Roberts grew up regularly performing impromptu musical numbers and sing-alongs with her siblings.

Heavily influenced by her parents’ love for James Taylor and Carole King, Roberts has always had an affection for folk music. In recent years, artists like Justin Vernon, Sufjan Stevens, The Paper Kites and Lucy Rose have become a key inspiration behind her work. Collaborating with local producer Jackson Barclay, the two have created a sound that is the perfect blend of acoustic folk and alternative pop. Five years in the making and in many ways a slow burn, this project is the unearthing of a hidden creative process. With soft, lilting melodies and painfully honest lyrics, Roberts’ carefully crafted brand is more than enough to put her on the map as one of Australia’s most exciting new talents.

Melanie MacLaren – Orion

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Sometimes I really want to leave our planet at least for a moment in order to admire the stars that are distant and beckoning us with their dazzling light. And it is at such moments that the atmosphere of Indie Folk helps, and the new composition from -Mlanie Maclaren- will help you fulfill your cherished dream.” (Automatically Translated with Google Translate)

“Иногда так хочется покинуть нашу планету хотя бы на мгновение, чтобы полюбоваться далёкими и манящими нас к себе своим ослепительным светом звёздами. И именно в такие минуты помогает атмосфера indie folk, а новая композиция от -Melanie MacLaren- поможет вам осуществить вашу заветную мечту.”

-Nagamag.com

Orion is a dreamy indie-folk ballad with flashes of classic Americana sensibilities. The sentimental cynicism of the lyrics are reminiscent of today’s indie-folk powerhouses like Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, but the urgency of the lyrics reflect a self-destructive desire to make up for lost time in a post-pandemic world in a way that hasn’t yet been articulated musically. This urgency, however, is soothed by the song’s production as ethereal synth arpeggios and whirling pedal steel wrap the lyrics in a sense of comfort—making Orion a shimmering and bittersweet ode to memorable nights and the hold they have on us. This single follows Melanie MacLaren's debut EP Kill My Time, which was released in February of this year.

Xavier Collins – Homeward Bound

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“I would like to listen to such songs with my eyes closed in a cadillac with a raised top, which rushes in the night in a empty highway. The wind walks in your hair, the motor is buzzing, and the new indie folk track -xavier collins- sounds from music columns. And let the whole world stake up at least for a moment ...” (Automatically Translated with Google Translate)

“Такие песни хочется слушать с закрытыми глазами в кадиллаке с откинутым верхом, который мчится в ночи по-пустому шоссе. Ветер гуляет в ваших волосах, гудит мотор, а из музыкальных колонок звучит новый indie folk трек -Xavier Collins-. И пусть весь мир замрёт хотя бы на мгновение...”

Taken from new 'Coastlines' EP out now

London based singer-songwriter Xavier Collins returns with a brand new track 'Coastlines', released today. Produced by electronic production duo Wayward (seen in Mixmag, DJ Mag, The Ransom Note), it is lifted from the debut 'Coastlines' EP out now.

Following on from his recent singles 'Coastlines', 'Gone' and 'Elegy, 'Homeward Bound' sees Xavier carry on the emotive, introspective approach to his music. He says: "I wrote homeward bound whilst up in the highlands of Scotland on a writing trip. It’s a more up beat (pop) track from the EP and the title is inspired by one of my favourite childhood movies."

Bio:

Xavier is a singer/songwriter born in London. He grew up in France, New Zealand and Australia spending a lot of his childhood on the move. He’s spent most of his adult life as an entrepreneur - In his early 20’s he left Australia starting his first business and couch surfing his way across the US. He went on to become an early employee of Deliveroo (first 30) where he was a major part of growing the UK business as a general manager. He left Deliveroo to launch a business called Turo (a US unicorn) in the UK and run their international business.

At age 30 he rediscovered his love of music and passion for song writing. This coincided with lockdowns and the ability to focus on writing his first EP. He’s teamed up with the producers Wayward to release Coastlines. This first EP is inspired by music influences such as Dylan, Radiohead, Bon Iver and Vance Joy and is a reflection on a challenging period of his life. The EP maps a relationship breakdown between him and his best friend who told him she was in love with him a week after getting married. Coastlines reflects the toxic descent of this relationship into chaos, heartbreak and lockdown and the ensuing escape through travelling the world. Coastlines is the opening and closing of this chapter in his life.
