JPson – Breathe

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“A special song, which eventually came out of a painful experience. The artist communicates his feelings from a serious accident and states the great importance of help offered from others in such difficult moments. Thumbs up for the soft guitar chords and lyrics of deep meaning.”

Artist said about this song:

“On the 30.01.2022 we arrived in Lauchernalp, Switzerland with the aim to shoot a music video for this song over the next 4 days. We had been planning this video for the last 2 months and had everything organised and set to start filming at sunrise the following morning. The night before we checked the weather report and saw that we had some bad weather coming in over the following 4 days which unfortunately would affect our shooting plan. We noticed that there was a small window the next morning which we could use to get some of the snowboarding shots we had scheduled in and therefore we all agreed to use this window of opportunity effectively (so we thought)

We got up that morning before sunrise as planned to capture some timelapse’s and to get ready to make the first lift up the mountain. After 2 hours we finally made our way up to the top of the mountain to find ourselves snowboarding and filming in pretty cloudy weather but good enough visibility to make our way down the mountain a few times so I could get some shots boarding my brother. It was about time for lunch when we decided that we would do our last run down as the weather was getting worse minute by minute, making it very difficult for us to see. As we made our way down filming the last run, we got hit by a serious snowstorm that literally came faster than we could ever imagine with wind speeds and thick snow coming down that I have yet to experience in my 23 years of snowboarding.

In split seconds I completely lost control due to the lack of sight and howling winds and found myself flying down the slope with full speed into a solid wooden pole about 2 metres long and 15cm wide located on the side of the slope. I had collided leg first into this pole with such force that I knocked it completely out of its placement, throwing me on my back about 10 meters away from the impact zone. I was in such shock that I immediately tried to get up and that’s when I felt the bones in my right leg directly below my knee slide and scrape away from each other like two freshly broken branches from a autumn tree. In that moment I thought to myself “oh fuck, I think I just broke my leg”

My brother called the mountain rescue team but because of the snowstorm they were unable to fly a helicopter to pick me up and therefore had no choice but to pick me up with a rescuer sledge, strap me in and ski me down to the cable car. In this moment all I remember my brother saying was “breathe JP, breathe”

After getting X-rays taken down at the mountain station, they discovered that I had broken both my Tibia and Fibula bones meaning that I would need to be rushed to hospital for an immediate operation which would be my first time to hospital and first time having an operation.

While I found myself in a complete daze between drugs and pain, everyone around me was telling me “breathe in, breathe out, everything will be ok”

What blows my mind is that the name of the song which we were shooting a music video for that morning while this all happened is “Breathe” ”

UK born Avro Arvo, is a Melbourne based artist and producer who became inspired by the coastline and beaches of Australia, alongside its way of life. Originally part of indie-pop duo Fool Child, he decided to move towards electronic sounds combined with delicate guitar licks, and funky basslines undertoned by synths. Over the span of 2 years, this became somewhat of a passion project - to create a chilled and inspired soundscape reflective of his new Australian life.

The music is best suited to complimenting your roadtrip - or to relax to by the beach - attributing musical influence from Phoenix, Polo & Pan, Foals and HONNE,

Avro's debut single, 'Thrill Seeker', is out 21st August and depicts a previous relationship that lacked meaning and purpose, to the point in which he had to end it. 'Thrill Seeker' was realised from the epiphanous (this might not actually be a word, but you get it) desire to find a real connection with someone, in contrast to meaningless partying and settling for someone who can only spare a fraction of their week with you.

Yana – Don’t Want Your Love

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Influenced by her post-breakup feelings, the talented "Yana" sings with bold sentimental mood and cannot leave you unaffected. Also the quality Lo-fi Pop background of sounds perfectly matches with the lyrics and create a hooking effect.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist said about this song:

"I wrote "Don't Want Your Love" after the end of an unfulfilling relationship I had at 20. I shared the idea with Instagram, uploading a video of myself playing the song on piano in my bedroom. To my surprise, tons of people related to it and asked for the full song. I recorded it with producers Franco Reid and Jon Joseph later that year in Los Angeles. "

Born in Varna, Bulgaria and raised in Long Beach, California, 23 year-old Yana captures the intimacy of poignant pop lyricism and ear-wormy melody to create the dream-pop of tomorrow with her smooth and sultry vocal tone. After emigrating with her family from a post-socialist Slavic Europe and finding refuge in the United States, Yana fell in love with the creative freedom that music provided and dedicated the majority of her growing years to developing her sonic style. In early 2019, she teamed up writer/producer Franco Reid to begin writing her EP “Hindsight.” The newest single from the project, “Don’t Want Your Love” describes the unfulfilling end of a relationship, the kind that leaves you only with questions. Yana is able to encapsulate the feeling of post-breakup confusion and yearning with a hooking melody you won’t be able to forget.

Najad – Ruccine

Categories: The Latest, Video, World Music|Tags: , , , |

“In “Ruccine”, selected drum loops are decorated with melodic strings to form a wide atmosphere. The vocals are simple and have an hypnotic repetition. Suitable sound for all fans of Folktronica & Trip-Hop with a strong eastern taste.”

-Nagamag.com

Najad’s new single “Ruccine” has various meanings, most importantly the one the listener decides to give it.

“Ruccine” describes a fictitious word – sung and played backwards, it invites you to immerse yourself in your own world of thoughts and perhaps raises or even resolves some questions: “Am I only hearing what I want to hear? Do you hear something different? What’s the truth? Is there even a single truth or perhaps a deeper understanding our brain can’t quite grasp?” The soft, female vocals at the end play into this idea even more, since only imagination could make out the initial message.

No matter from which facet you want to look at the song, there are both mindfulness and a feeling of calmness to Najad’s sound, shaping it so significantly that you won’t get around it. Once again, Najad takes us on a journey from which we can take whatever we need- even if it’s just a sudden craving for some really good Indian food.
