Jane Jensen – Tikkun Olam (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, The Latest, World Music|Tags: , , , |

“From the Album ‘Enchant’ by Jane Jenson ‘Tikkun Olam’ is a Hebrew phrase meaning “Repair the World.” Delivered with an almost therapeutic repetition in a middle-eastern style, the vocals are soothing, engaging.and somewhat addictive. The experience is intended to reduce anxiety and heal the mind & body. A gem of a track from a deeply spiritual album.”

The new album is titled Enchant. It is a pure audio fantasy. It is intended to be a brain massage and a break from reality. It is for deep chilling and escape. Mostly, it is the repetition of a few words in either Aramaic, Sanskrit, Tamil or Hebrew - languages that have no distracting emotional baggage - it's more about having a therapeutic experience, healing from injury, staving off anxiety and the ever-lurking, waiting in the wings, depression.

Will Wallace & Laurel Smith – GIRLS MONEY CARS (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , , |

“Will Wallace & Laurel Smith appear with this Electro super track. Ecstatic and dynamic sound. Wicked bass and lead loops mixed with a breathless voice that immediately stimulates your ears.”

-Nagamag.com

LONDON – DJ and producer Will Wallace and singer- songwriter Laurel Smith unleash a dark-pop club anthem and music video for ‘Girls, Money, Cars’.

A phenomenal new release from Preston’s rising new name in music production, Will Wallace emerges with slick sound and visuals, and Laurel Smith brings the kind of bad-B energy you’d look for in North London’s emerging music scene. The pair have been quietly working on a smash dark-pop meets future bass single.

This collaboration is nothing short of perfect, a cocktail of the work of two seemingly disparate artists, surprising their respective fanbases after the successful release of Will’s upbeat electronic hit ‘Greenlight’ and Laurel’s far moodier ‘Out the Cage’ hit the air waves.

Will’s evolving sound proves he can’t be pinned to one genre – ‘Girls, Money, Cars’ is complex, both pop and trap-heavy yet impressively spacey, hypnotic and rounded. Dripping with unapologetic badass attitude, Laurel commands her breathy controlled vocals over sharp, incisive lyrics that she wrote for this track, pointing to the music industry’s subjugation of women that keeps them trapped in a male-gaze public image.

Dark and delicious,‘Girls, Money, Cars’ illuminates the warped, disorienting reality of entertainment, through an ecstatic, highly-produced mix that seriously ups-the-anti on new wave revenge-anthems.

The creative approach in the video is stellar, immediately hooking us with the nostalgic visuals of Y2K house parties, ironically placed over Laurel’s intimidating vocals, only to take an immaculate left-turn into a climaxing bassline from Will. We anticipate Will’s return to the stage with this creative ensemble, after his roster list of shows played pre-lockdown, including the notorious Don’t Let Daddy Know at the O2 Victoria Warehouse. Be ready to hear Will Wallace’s exhilarating drops on this banger across the clubs this summer, and watch Laurel’s dead-pan, covergirl—bound face on your screen in awe.

Hold This – Rushil | Abi Sampa (Video)

Categories: Rock, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“There are so many superb elements to this song that it’s difficult to know where to begin, or what to praise first. The multi-lingual vocals are tailored as finely as a Saville Row suite, Rushil’s lead vocal seamlessly blending with the sumptuous vocals of Abi Sampra and the orchestration. The piano and Indian percussion instruments also joining to reach the anthem-like crescendo and exotic fade out. ”

-Nagamag.com

Bursting back onto the scene in 2021 with an exquisitely addictive new single that expertly combines his empowered attitude, bold lyricism, and stunning vocals with an immaculately bright, catchy sound, Rushil is set to take over playlists worldwide with the release of his latest single ‘Hold This’ featuring Abi Sampa. Having recently signed a sync deal with Coca Cola Pakistan and featured on Nitin Sawhney’s new record, Rushil’s new single is as shocking as it is soulful; he’s never been one to hold back when it comes to his music, and ‘Hold This’ reveals the confident performer he’s become over the years.

It’s hard to place Rushil into a box. The London-based singer’s ability to sew subtle strands of his Indian heritage into the melancholic sincerity of his songwriting has set him apart and placed him in an entirely new category of writers.

After spending his early years in India, Rushil grew up in Cyprus where he signed his first record deal at 16. He then went on to study at the University of Oxford which is where he first encountered Indian Classical Music. It was here that Rushil began seeking a sound that could embrace the entirety of his heritage. Drawing on influences such as Bon Iver and Damien Rice, Rushil sought to expand upon their styles by including elements of Indian Classical and Sufi instrumentation.

“Unreal electronic mix with the power of Trance and the signature of “Bryn Liedl”. Just arrived in your sound collection in order to offer a unique ocean trip. A fairytale inspired by the sea nature. Feel the beat shaking your body while being breathless from those super melodies!”

-Nagamag.com

Underworld, the EP was inspired by Ian Urbina’s book, ‘The Outlaw Ocean’. Ian’s collaborative process involved sharing his library of sounds and video he’s taken across his career as a New York Times journalist covering the ocean

This sonic exploration into the ocean’s underworld mirrors Bryn’s personal journey of conscious growth. Collaborating with Ian opened up his frame of reference, allowing him to ask some difficult questions. How am I impacting the planet and more specifically the ocean? What effects do my everyday choices have on the sustainability of earth’s resources?

Jickow – The Nemesis of Love (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, House, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“Cool like a breeze of fresh air "The Nemesis of Love" has just arrived in the House music scene. Get ready for an absolute sound experience that can promise the unexpected. Perfectly organized electronic elements presented with unique flow and gradual progression. Do you consider yourself a demanding listener? Then, this was made for you!”

-Nagamag.com

Jickow is back with a brand-new release on the DHB imprint, a consistent EP called ‘The Nemesis Of Love’ with featuring remixes from renowned producers like the German talent Mark De Pulse with over 400 releases spanning his career and Da Fresh hailing from France with accompanying iconic releases like ‘Goosebumps’ and ‘Aquila’. With an unstoppable work ethic backed by a string of impressive releases, Jickow is definitely cementing his place in the industry especially with this new release which would prove a shame to miss out on.

Jickow’s take on ‘The Nemesis Of Love kicks off with a clean, pulsing kick drum combined with sharp and punchy snares and hi hats that fill the upper end of the spectrum to establish that iconic groove. This is shorty followed by a series of dark and entrancing sound FX that wrap around from the edges of the speaker and engulfs the soundscape to give it an ominous and mysterious vibe we can all get behind. Between the excitement of the main body of the song, the implementation of the breakdowns switch up the atmosphere and the spine-tingling vocals commence, perfectly bringing every aspect of the song together. Da Fresh’s remix remains consistent with the original all while adding his unique flare to it by implementing off beat clicks combined with a lower cutting bassline to give it zestier feel, while Marc De Pulse offers a more electrifying and grounded vibe with melodies paying homage to that iconic ‘80s synth-wave era.

With a reputation proceeding him for the production of top-quality produced music, Jickow has really stepped up his game with this one. With plenty more exciting releases on the way, Jickow is rising as one of the most talented producers in the ever-growing pool of rising artists in the Dance music industry and is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

‘The Nemesis Of Love’ is out now and available on all good streaming services and digital music stores.
