Deftick – Defchord (Original Mix) (Video)

Categories: Psytrance, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“Deftick Psydub new delivery. Balanced pattern progression, which guarantee the satisfaction even of the most demanding listener. Characteristic leads, strong pads and airy effects can justify the success of “Defchord”. So raise the volume level and forget everything else for the following seven minutes.”

-Nagamag.com

DEFTICK is a Techno/Electro/Experimental project by Rafael Wiederkehr (Suncollector) and André Huwiler (DJ Dex) from Switzerland. With their combined skills, they drive us through a world of powerful-groovy soundscapes – always very well balanced to activate our mind and feet.

After playing at psytrance parties for more than 20 years and creating more and more songs in the studio that didn’t fit into the concept, they decided to start the side project DEFTICK.

This is where all the songs that have been created over the years find their place.

The result is a sound that doesn’t like to fit into concepts. From Techno over Electro up to Downtempo everything is represented.

Flo Gallop – Can’t Be Friends (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Our favourite "Flo Gallop" strikes again with "Can't Be Friends". Communicative way of singing, lyrics of meaning and the friendly sound is always present. You won't resist to listen more than once, especially if you're an Electro Pop addict.”

-Nagamag.com

You already know Flo Gallop. You’ve already heard her voice, it’s a pitch-perfect, beautiful, arm-around-the-shoulders version of the one in your head. Flo is the voice we all need, She’s the beat behind our breakdowns and the word-perfect poetry of our bounce-back pick-ups. South-east London born and bred, Flo was raised around music, her dad made songwriting feel like breathing. Without it she would choke. So, she sat, scribbling words, diarising an everyday life through the musicality and soul of a natural artist that would eventually emerge, fully formed, as a friend in your ears.

Flo doesn’t want to change the world, just get your attention. She lives to perform, yet she feels, writes and lives like an antidote to this world of filtered fakery and ‘pick me!’ poses. Honesty is the only policy here, even when it hurts.

The fun and flirtatious "Can't Be Friends" narrates falling for the wrong person and happily overlooking the consequences. The infectious song sparkles with colourful melodies, a move-inducing beat and Gallop's distinct vocal delivery. The songwriter shares, "This song came from another deluded boy crush and was based around the nerves of seeing someone when you know you shouldn’t and that they’re not good for you, but also knowing you really want to, attempting to make someone jealous and just generally being up to no good."

All of Flo’s music is food for the heart and words for the wise. This is a writer of depth, already a collaborator with established giants Tom Fuller and Will Thomson but, rather than stand on their shoulders, she has hands on the wheel.

Being a young woman in your 20s isn’t always easy today, but Flo only sees ‘good and great’ in her life and her work, and you will too. So, if you’re looking for Bad then head for Neverland, but if you want songs to fly, cry and die for then don’t just run with the herd- go with the Flo.

Julian Brown – Walls (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“The very fresh release of a young skillful artist is here. Soft guitar notes combined with the artist's silvery voice. Also noticeable are the dymanic changes in this fantastic mix that hold you there like a magnet. ”

-Nagamag.com

‘Walls’ embodies the feeling of loving someone paired with uncertainty and hope. It talks about when the timing isn’t right, although the person might be. And even though you’re not with that person at the time, there may be a moment in the future where the relationship makes more sense. Underlined by a catchy guitar riff, ‘Walls’ has an uplifting, almost euphoric arrangement, that creates contrast to its rather thoughtful lyrics and combines, the two controversial elements, hope and bitterness.

Elliot Fitch – The One (Spotify)

“A Techno candy for your playlist is "The one" from Elliot Fitch. Mix with rich percussion, beat and some vocal taste, which keep the dancing spirit alive. One of the best ways to welcome Spring and regain your lost optimism.”

-Nagamag.com

Because it’s all about the groove with Elliot Fitch, you instantly know that ‘The One’ could be just that when the Eindhoven producer’s glitterball begins its latest swing towards paradise. Glammed up and glorious, ‘The One’ is a filtered disco-house love-in, full of 24 karat strings, and a bassline that’s stern yet supportive and ultimately too damn funky. Lower down in the mix, a supporting cast of frisky horns and feelgood guitar twangs and keys, plus vocals happily swimming in the vibe, help the unifying feel of ‘The One’ looking out for each and every dancefloor diva and don

Chris Kelly is a Canadian artist and musician currently based in Vancouver, BC. An incredibly versatile and talented musician, he has been part of a number of bands and projects over the years, as well as pursuing a solo career.

For the last few years, Chris has been one half of Velavox, formerly Kelly and Gibson, an award-winning pop duo whose music has received more than one million streams and been featured on MTV.
