Loxy & Ink – Manifested Visions (Video)
“A real old-school hip-hop track exists in the world, hitting its depth and performance. Soulful lyrics coupled with excellent performance, give the artistic impression of genuine sincerity. Real talent of pronounced sensuality.”
“Есть ещё в мире настоящий old-school hip-hop поражающий своей глубиной и исполнением. Душевная лирика в купе с превосходным исполнением создают впечатление неподдельной искренности исполнителя. Настоящий талант выраженный чувственностью.”

Authenticity & Consistency, two key words that immediately come to mind when we’re talking about Loxy and Ink.
As music and creative culture at large hurtles towards an abyss of ‘likes’ as currency and vacuous validity, the job of musicians who stand for authenticity and consistency has become ever more important and it is at this juncture where Loxy and Ink become indispensable.
Two titans in UK breakbeat culture, Loxy & Ink were both present at the inception at the birth of UK dance music culture and continue to be torchbearers. One glance at the CV of both artists will show you everything you need to know. They were both residents & recording artists at three incredibly important clubs & record labels: Metalheadz at Blue Note, Speed at Mars Bar and Renegade Hardware at The End. These three clubs and associated labels are important to mention as they innovated, pushed and later came to define drum & bass culture. Loxy and Ink were, in part, responsible for that.
It’s not an accident that Loxy and Ink were linked to these behemoths. Between the aforementioned camps and our protagonists, there was a mutual understanding for the need to push the envelope and there was a shared love of reinterpreting musical genres- a free form approach to music that changed the landscape of what is possible creatively, Loxy & Ink have always implicitly understood this way of thinking and have exercised this thought process to this day via their own record labels, Cylon (Loxy) and Architecture (Ink).
Throughout their careers, as collaborators and individuals, Loxy & Ink continued to make and play music that connected with them on a deeper level rather than just for the sake of functionality, they both saw success as rappers and individually played and made music that stretched from dub techno to hip hop to house.
The journey outlined above, the understanding of cultural innovation and the pledge to authenticity & consistency as mentioned leads us to the Manifested Visions EP on R&S Records. A five-track release that traverses genres with ease, a release that speaks to Loxy & Ink’s love for collaboration- we’re presented with multiple vocal contributions from Tha Lion, Jody Lulati, Miriam Safo and Loxy & Ink themselves. Finnish producer Resound continues his long-standing production partnership with Loxy on ‘Give Me a Dubplate’. Genre wise we’re given hip hop, dubwise roots reggae and drum & bass.
R&S continues to show that it’s a force to be reckoned with by releasing this EP, a project that crosses countries as well as genres, a project from Loxy and Ink that feels like it was always going to come to pass since the pair found common ground way back when.
After considering all of this, it comes as no surprise that the EP is titled ‘Manifested Visions.’

Larissa Tandy – Sirens (Video)
“Musical accompaniment that is strongly stored and remains in memory for a long time. Guaranteed listening pleasure. Emotional lyrics, melancholic performance and rhyme firmly combined with life-affirming chorus.”
“Музыкальное сопровождение сильно запоминается и остаётся в памяти на долгие времена. Удовольствие от прослушивания гарантировано. Эмоциональная лирика, исполнение и меланхоличная рифма прочно сочетаются с жизнеутверждающим припевом.”
-Nagamag.com
Australian expatriate singer-songwriter Larissa Tandy now calls Vancouver home and after moving to the city 6 years ago, she tuned in to the sounds of her new neighbourhood to write her new single ‘Sirens’,which is out today on all digital streaming platforms.
“I wrote ‘Sirens’ while living on the Downtown Eastside during the opioid crisis with sirens constantly blaring around me,” says Larissa. “It’s in the key of E, which kinda works for most sirens in Vancouver and makes them a kind of background harmony. I started writing a lot about emergencies, drawing on my experiences with them back in my hometown in Australia. It has a population of 600 or so, a rural environment, so there’s a lot of what I think of as ‘natural drama’. As in, nobody seems to die peacefully in their sleep. It’s always some tragic, violent accident, or people just head out to work one day and don’t come home at night.”
‘Sirens’ is the first in a series of singles set for release in 2021, recorded during an extended stint of living and working in Nashville: “I recorded these songs at my friend’s studio, and we pulled the session together in less than 24 hours,” says Larissa. “I just wanted to get good, vibey players in a room together, and especially wanted a bass player and drummer who work together a lot, so we invited the Jons (Estes and Radford), then tapped Dan Knobler and Ryan Brewer for guitars and keys. We tracked the songs pretty much live.”
The following day, Tandy drove to Memphis and recorded Motown legend, Jack Ashford (Funk Brothers, Marvin Gaye), adding his iconic tambourine sound to the songs.
From her humble beginnings in rural Australia, raising herself on stolen Aretha and Patti Smith records, Larissa has mined her difficult life for potent stories and spun them into songs that made their way onto radio in America, the UK, and Canada where the CBC ordained them as “songs you need to hear”. Within a few short years, she has doggedly beat a path for herself, touring relentlessly across Canada, Australia, and the US, and playing official showcases at Kansas City’s Folk Alliance, and Nashville’s Americanafest.
Larissa’s debut album, The Grip, was released in 2017 and spent 4 months on the US Americana charts, reached #2 on the Canadian college radio chart, and attracted praise from almost every corner of the globe. Awards followed, namely the prestigious Nashville Songwriter Residency, which she used to carve out a place for herself in Nashville’s competitive writing scene. Tapped by artists for her tough affect and muscular writing, she jagged a number of cuts in her first year in the game, which secured chart positions in Australia and the UK.
Larissa Tandy’s new single ‘Sirens’ is available now on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, and other digital retailers and streaming services worldwide. For more info, please visit https://www.larissatandy.com/

Hold This – Rushil | Abi Sampa (Video)
“There are so many superb elements to this song that it’s difficult to know where to begin, or what to praise first. The multi-lingual vocals are tailored as finely as a Saville Row suite, Rushil’s lead vocal seamlessly blending with the sumptuous vocals of Abi Sampra and the orchestration. The piano and Indian percussion instruments also joining to reach the anthem-like crescendo and exotic fade out. ”
-Nagamag.com
Bursting back onto the scene in 2021 with an exquisitely addictive new single that expertly combines his empowered attitude, bold lyricism, and stunning vocals with an immaculately bright, catchy sound, Rushil is set to take over playlists worldwide with the release of his latest single ‘Hold This’ featuring Abi Sampa. Having recently signed a sync deal with Coca Cola Pakistan and featured on Nitin Sawhney’s new record, Rushil’s new single is as shocking as it is soulful; he’s never been one to hold back when it comes to his music, and ‘Hold This’ reveals the confident performer he’s become over the years.
It’s hard to place Rushil into a box. The London-based singer’s ability to sew subtle strands of his Indian heritage into the melancholic sincerity of his songwriting has set him apart and placed him in an entirely new category of writers.
After spending his early years in India, Rushil grew up in Cyprus where he signed his first record deal at 16. He then went on to study at the University of Oxford which is where he first encountered Indian Classical Music. It was here that Rushil began seeking a sound that could embrace the entirety of his heritage. Drawing on influences such as Bon Iver and Damien Rice, Rushil sought to expand upon their styles by including elements of Indian Classical and Sufi instrumentation.

Bryn Liedl – Underworld Ep | Inspired by ‘The Outlaw Ocean’ a book by Ian Urbina (Video)
“Unreal electronic mix with the power of Trance and the signature of “Bryn Liedl”. Just arrived in your sound collection in order to offer a unique ocean trip. A fairytale inspired by the sea nature. Feel the beat shaking your body while being breathless from those super melodies!”
-Nagamag.com
Underworld, the EP was inspired by Ian Urbina’s book, ‘The Outlaw Ocean’. Ian’s collaborative process involved sharing his library of sounds and video he’s taken across his career as a New York Times journalist covering the ocean
This sonic exploration into the ocean’s underworld mirrors Bryn’s personal journey of conscious growth. Collaborating with Ian opened up his frame of reference, allowing him to ask some difficult questions. How am I impacting the planet and more specifically the ocean? What effects do my everyday choices have on the sustainability of earth’s resources?

True Loves – “Sunday Afternoon” (Video)
“Captivating for the first second, True Loves know how to create a building up of groove layering, where the strong performances re-in forces as you step deeper. The lush harmonies and vibes here are hard to describe in words but overall sounds like a big party that you don’t want to be out of it. So press play and get lost on sound witchcraft of passionate professional musicians. ”
-Nagamag.com
“Seattle’s instrumental soul heavyweights, True Loves, will release a music video for the title track off of their sophomore album ‘Sunday Afternoon’ on Wednesday, May 19th. Produced by Wild Gravity and filmed at Seattle’s Rainier Valley Cultural Arts Center, the video for “Sunday Afternoon” depicts the band plotting to retrieve their master tapes stolen by greedy, corporate music executives.
The video offers a candid look at the corkboard where the band has devised their heist while capturing each member of the band’s A-team-esque roles in ‘The Crew,’ listing everyone’s essential role in the plot while donned in slick black suits. The band successfully breaks into the compound to get their masters and redistributes the earnings to local venues and independent artists. As crafty as their swaggering instrumental tune with bold fanfare horn lines and a hard-driving rhythm section, True Loves prevail and toast to sticking it to the man.
“We wanted to recognize what a difficult time this has been for musicians, venues, and their staffs while corporate greed continues and how artists are taken advantage of by those at the top who continue to prosper while others suffer—a modern Robinhood tale told through a heist video,” says bassist, Bryant Moore.
Watch the video here. https://youtu.be/NuIh6vcei_0
The “Sunday Afternoon” video comes out ahead of the group’s sophomore record out via Color Red (music discovery platform and record label founded by Eddie Roberts of The New Mastersounds) on May 28th. The powerhouse, all-star project features Jason Cressey (Odesza/Monophonics) on trombone, Greg Kramer (Macklemore) on trombone, Gordon Brown on tenor sax, Skerik (Mike Clark/Fred Wesley/Charlie Hunter/Garage a Trois) on baritone sax, Jimmy James (Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio), Bryant Moore on bass, David McGraw (Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio) on drums, and Iván Galvaz on percussion.
The group transpired in 2014 out of a Sunday jam session between James, Moore, and McGraw and has ricocheted into an act that has garnered millions of YouTube views and countless tracks with six-digit play counts on digital streaming platforms. Sunday Afternoon comes hot off the heels of their 2017 debut instrumental release Famous Last Words and finds the band beaming with the most synergetic energy of their careers.
“It’s a collaborative effort with all of us. What’s great about people having input is that then the band sounds more natural, more cohesive. The band sounds more together in that way and that’s the way it should be. Because if the band sounds comfortable and it sits on the groove, then it comes to life,” said guitarist Jimmy James in an interview with American Songwriter (December 2020) that premiered the audio for “Sunday Afternoon.”

Alega, Flackax – Brave (Official music video) (Video)
“There’s just something about this song that gets to you. It has that feel, finesse and polish associated with global musical icons like U2, Duran Duran and others of that calibre and era. The sound & subject is current too, with exceptional modern day production techniques and brilliantly performed. It should be a massive hit ”
-Nagamag.com
ABOUT THE ARTIST
It all started in January 2020 when Alega replied to a post that producer FlackAX shared on Facebook, looking for someone to collaborate with. The project was never planned. It developed naturally, without any pressure. “We still are going to produce and write for other artists. Right now we enjoy working together and helping each other develop as songwriters and producers”, says Alega. The collaboration has been very productive as they both have around 20 songs ready to be released.
In July 2020 Alega and FlackAX released their first collaborative single “Divina Requiem” which featured Signe Bødtker, a classically trained singer.
The next song in line was “You can leave my head now”, featuring the Swedish singer/songwriter Malin Simon. The song is in the genre of electro synth-pop dance, and was released in December 2020.
ABOUT THE SONG
BRAVE is about looking in the mirror and not seeing yourself, for who you really are. It’s about taking risks in life and believing in the power you have as a human being. It’s about taking a road trip with no destination. Discover something new about yourself and the world that surrounds us. Rising every time We fall.

Vocab Slick – Atonement (Video)
“Perhaps there is nothing that gives a sense of freedom, like the qualitative rhythms of hip-hop music. -Atonement- levitation is a real, pure euphoria. The very moment in everyone’s life, and for which the cost is worth living.”
“Пожалуй, ничто так не вселяет чувство свободы, как качественные ритмы хип-хоп музыки. -Atonement- это настоящая левитация, чистая эйфория. Те самые мгновения в жизни каждого человека, ради которых стоило и стоит жить. ”

Vocab Slick brings his blue-collar, working-man’s anthem to life in the cinematic new video for “Atonement,” which is also the latest single off his much anticipated next project, Language.
https://www.facebook.com/vocabslickofficial
With director Evan Croker behind the lens, the Bay Area emcee shows off his acting chops in these visuals that center on the story within the verses. It tells the story of a hard-working artist who only gets the opportunity to hone his craft and share his art with the world after a long day of work.

In both audio and visual form, “Atonement” serves an incredibly relatable and touching narrative, and it’s one that’s never been more pertinent than today. It also doesn’t hurt that Croker’s vision is such a perfect match for Vocab’s rhymes, which just seem to float over the melodic Chef Boyz production.

Atlanta-based Health and Fitness Pop trio 3D The Boss have announced their debut full-length album “Push It”, out on all platforms April 15, 2021. Stylistically, these seasoned musicians effortlessly combine their 70’s and 80’s funk and r&b inspirations with modern pop and electro elements for a potent signature sound.
https://www.instagram.com/3dtheboss/
Most pop, funk & r&b projects intend for their audiences to get moving, but with 3D The Boss it’s practically mandatory. Described by visionary Saint Day Adeogba as ‘music to raise your frequency to a higher level’, the music on “Push It” is not only energetic, but it’s infused with meaning and spirit as it encourages the listener to live a healthy lifestyle. Whether you’re working out with the band during one of their live performances or just listening to the album, the songs stand on their own, each with it’s own distinct groove. I.M.P’s recommendations are “BBGG”, “Push It”, “Go”, and the left field self-confidence anthem “Do My Dance”.
