Kat explains; ‘Unfortunately, the ‘checkmate’ music video is based on a real story of an unhealthy love, suffocating 2 people who don’t know how to leave. Being able to bring this to life and work on such an intimate level with a wondering team was extremely empowering and I’m really grateful to have the opportunity to create something like this.’

Born in Devon, raised in Perth, Australia, and now based in Brighton, Kat has been hard at work writing and developing her nostalgic, but fresh sound. Blending relatable lyrics with Pop, R&B and soulful influences, her music is a unique melting pot of sensibility and sass.

Fostering a community of loyal fans and tastemaker support through her single releases last year Kat is on the rise and introduced her debut EP to the world in February this year. While none of us need reminding of the hellscape of lockdown, Kat’s tongue-in-cheek lyricism offers candid, witty insights into what life was like during that time. "So Right" is a song that teases the emotions of “love at first sight” and the butterflies that come with those feelings. Shaun was in charge of the overall production, composition, and arrangement of the track. Yuna also participated in the composition, while coming up with the lyrics and narrative to drive this production home.

Asia's leading artist Shaun and Yuna met last October in a studio in LA and started their musical exchanges. Since then, they have continued to communicate steadily from their respective countries and today have released their joining masterpiece.

Shaun’s voice is strongly depicted through sensuous beats and deep sounds complemented with the snare, finger snaps, and kicks. In addition, Yuna's soft vocals captivate listeners on top of the fascinating guitar sound, completing the sensibility of "So Right." Cydney is a graduate of Shelton High School and Education Center for the Arts in New Haven. Grace Like Fire was written, recorded, and filmed during the pandemic. The song discusses the cyclical nature of life- how one will burn things down to make way for something new- all to a dance pop beat.
