Max Prime – Damage to Love (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“"Damage to Love" with its cool feeling and slow pace could be one of your first playlist choices. Adult Contemporary mood, ideal to end a busy day, or just start your free time activities with. What else do you need to entertain yourself?”

-Nagamag.com

A bit slower and more introvert than other Max Prime tracks. This one's about the repercussions of a bad relationship and the expectations of a brighter way forward in life.

Always striving for best possible feeling and sound quality, Max has again and again delivered fresh, out of the box, contemporary music productions – both for internal Beatlife acts such as Dada Dada DJ as well as for external customers. Credited for writing songs for artists all over the world like Sweden’s Jill Johnson, South Korea’s Bin, Brazil’s Rouge, Fabienne Louves from Switzerland and so on. Relentless in his search for optimum beats and mixes he’s as merciless as when he sweeps by everyone on the racing track, out running.

Breagh Isabel – Girlfriends (Video)

“There was no limit to our enjoyment when we heard this track. In less than three minutes’ time you are poured with many bright and unusual sound elements, which immediately attract every attention. -Girlfriends- is a quite romantic track, which we safely recommend for daily listening.”

“Нашей феерии восторга не было предела, когда мы услышали этот трек. Все неполные три минуты на вас выливаются много ярких и необычных звуковых элементов, которые сразу привлекают к себе своё внимание. -Girlfriends- приподнятый, сдержанный, и очень романтичный трек, который можно смело рекомендовать для ежедневного прослушивания.”

-Nagamag.com

Breagh Isabel – the Halifax-based and Cape Breton Island-born recording artist, songwriter and producer – has released her debut single today, “Girlfriends,” along with the official video . The song helps usher in her new recording contract with Warner Music Canada.

https://breaghisabel.com/

“Girlfriends” is a pop-leaning, coming-of-age story about a very specific type of heartbreak; the kind that comes from being a lovesick teenager in less welcoming times. The song emerged from a session with one of her Canadian songwriting crushes, Simon Wilcox (Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez, Lennon Stella). Isabel offered up the lyrics, “maybe we were homophobic” and like an astute therapist, Wilcox instantly started peeling back the layers, unravelling a closely kept story that needed to be told, and thus “Girlfriends” was born.

“I had no firm intention of delving into a solo artist project when I wrote ‘Girlfriends,’ but the song easily became the most honest thing I had ever written. I started to feel like I had something to say that might resonate,” says Isabel. “The song is about little – and sometimes big – moments and thoughts I didn’t know what to do with at the time, but now realize were just expressions of me figuring out who I am.”

The theme of heartbreak is vivid in the accompanying music video, filmed in both Vancouver and Halifax. The video follows two high school students (played by Carolyn Yu and Cassidy Foley) as they explore burgeoning feelings, echoing the lyrics of Isabel’s song. The video was funded in part by the MVP Project, produced by Shelby Manton of Boldly and directed by Tamara Black.

Sonically, “Girlfriends” pairs thought-provoking, emotive storytelling with dynamic percussion and bouncy electric guitar that counterintuitively make the song feel catchy and calming all at once. Airy vocal swells and synths off the top of the track set the stage for the song’s dream-like reflection. In her signature smoky timbre, Isabel sings, “I wanted to be girlfriends, but we were just girl friends,” revealing the painful standstill of confusion and loss that comes from love unrequited.

“It’s a bit of a sad song wrapped up in a happy-sounding package. The lyrics don’t really tell a hopeful story,” Isabel spills. “The resolution comes from the fact that I can own the experience and re-tell it from a place of happiness.”

Though Girlfriends signals the start of her own solo career, Breagh Isabel’s creative handiwork will likely already be familiar to music audiences. Isabel has written for and been featured on the records of artists like Classified, Ria Mae, Donovan Woods and BANNERS. While the world was in lockdown, she cut her teeth in production and signed a publishing deal with Concord Music. Her tracks have already been featured on the megahit show Grey’s Anatomy and the superhero series Batwoman. She also toured throughout Canada and Europe and gained international recognition during her time as a member of the band Port Cities. Mostly writing for others, she would often tuck little ideas away that seemed overly personal, but with “Girlfriends, Breagh Isabel is now ready to begin a new chapter all her own.

Hannah Wilhelm & FATCAT – Oh Welt | WeLive on Tour – Live in der Sternenberghalle | Episode I (Video)

Categories: Jazz, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“Exceptionally balanced instrumental mix from “FATCAT” & “Hannah Wilhelm”. Find your favourite acoustic sound in this collaborative Funk gem and feed your ears with its elegant vibrations. We really liked the vocal duo, which acts in strict synchronization with all the rest.”

The teaser from the first episode of the concert film series “WeLive on Tour” is here and comes up with a highly exciting combination: The concert film combines the singer Hannah Wilhelm from Lahr and the already well-known funk band FATCAT – singer-songwriter meets funk. The live video for “Oh Welt”, written by Hannah Wilhelm and arranged by FATCAT, released on 8 June, offers a first taste. German lyrics meet funky brass interludes and great voices.

“It’s totally amazing to see the result for the first time,” Hannah Willhelm said happily after the release. Even on stage, she didn’t notice exactly what was happening around her, “because I just had so much fun. What FATCAT has done with the song is unbelievable. And also what the WeLive team did with the song is unbelievable. I’m just ultra happy happy happy” about the result, says the singer.

FATCAT frontman Kenny Joyner is also satisfied with the film, shot in the Sternenberghalle Friesenheim. Because of Corona, they couldn’t rehearse as usual before a gig, so they had to make do via digital rehearsals. “It was something new for all of us. But it was a lot of fun,” says Joyner.

Hannah Wilhelm achieved nationwide fame in 2020 through her participation in the German casting show “The Voice of Germany”. The funk band FATCAT from Freiburg, on the other hand, is no longer a newcomer and has even been on the main stage of the Montreux Jazz Festival. The concert film series “WeLive on Tour” will release their first joint concert film with titles by Hannah Wilhelm and FATCAT on 20 June 2021, so you can look forward to it!

Show “The Voice of Germany” bundesweite Bekanntheit. Juni 2021. Man darf also gespannt sein!

“-LMK (If You Wanna See Me)- can snatch a heart from its own body. Take off above the clouds, recharge from the rays of the sun and return. Music felt as if wrapping you into an imaginary blanket and in this cozy atmosphere you are able to forget about everything. Are you ready to dive in the song, as if in the bottomless ocean?”

“Припев в – lmk (if you wanna see me)- способен вырвать сердце из собственного тела; взлететь выше облаков, зарядиться лучами солнца и вернуться. Музыка словно заворачивает вас в воображаемое одеяло и в этой уютной атмосфере вы способны забыть обо всём. Вы готовы утонуть в песне, словно в бездонном океане? ”

Michael Taylor – Fighting Gravity (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Undeniably, ‘Fighting Gravity’ by Michael Taylor is a Nashville influenced tragic love anthem that is not entirely obvious. (The Nashville influence that is) Michael’s instinct for melody shines through the song giving it a highly charged emotional feel. The song also has an Americana, Folk-Rock flavour. Think Tom Petty meets Keith Urban. A great debut from an artist we will be hearing a lot more from.”

-Nagamag.com

Fighting Gravity is a pop anthem breakup song about the tragic premonition that a relationship is unsalvageable- that all your efforts to save it just show it can't work. It's the moment you pull the eject lever instead of crashing in a doomed attempt to fly...

Heartbeat drums punctuate heartbreak in reflective verses, searching piano riffs echo with desperate hope, and the anthemic chorus explodes like nosediving plane in a mayday call.

"We're only fighting gravity... Some people weren't made to fly."

https://instagram.com/michaeltaylorofficialmusic

If truth is a hard to-come-by commodity, singer/songwriter Michael Taylor has an antidote. The southern native's honest voice is at the very core of his music. Southern born, mid-west raised and now Nashville-bound, this musical storyteller proudly wears his heart on his sleeve. His songs weave human emotion through a transcendent voice and a stunning instinct for melody.

Working with Australian wunderkind producer Andrew Furze, he spent months crafting his debut EP, collaborating closely with pop luminary Hayley Warner (Katy Perry, Tori Kelly). The result is a stunning debut that blends sharp pop sensibilities with the finest tradition of Americana folk and rock. Petty-ish grooves, Hozier-like gospel influences and a Shawn Mendes-esque pop smarts - it’s a compelling combination.

Born in the heart of southern Virginia, raised in Minnesota and now plying his trade in Nashville, Michael Taylor is an exciting new talent who’s journey in some ways is just beginning.
