Categories: Rock, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“Scars are stories to be told!…and The Wandering Hearts with their new single Gold, delivering the next memorable hit song.
We receive and review daily new music in the nagamag music, picking what 100% align with our our personal taste. Yet we admit, quite few times we have goosebumps so hard, and this song is really gold! Starts ethereal with an obvious quality and deep story line, once the chorus starts, release out anything hidden inside you. There’s a light in the night and it’s breaking up the sky… Amazing!”

After shooting to the forefront of the UK folk/Americana scene with their debut album ‘Wild Silence’, The Wandering Heartsheaded to the genre’s spiritual home of Woodstock at the start of 2020 to work on a follow-up. The result is their forthcoming self-titled album, which will be released on July 30th, which they have today launched with the new single ‘Gold’. It represents their first release under a new deal with Cooking Vinyl. Listen HERE.

The Wandering Hearts headed deep into the Catskills, where producers Simone Felice and David Baron hosted experimental and spiritual sessions in a studio packed with vintage instruments. The album echoes the timeless songcraft of Fleetwood Mac and Simon & Garfunkel with the pure passion of Jade Bird and The Lumineers. It’s a record that celebrates life, new beginnings, and striving to shine through a darkening world.

The new single ‘Gold’ opens with the gritty, fervent soul of AJ Dean-Revington’s vocals, before the band’s patented harmonies surge to the fore, while thunderous drums and a euphoric hook escalate the song’s drama. It offers a timely reminder that challenging experiences will in time fade in favour of a better future.

The band, completed by Tara Wilcox and Chess Whiffin, commented: “‘Gold’ stemmed from the idea of something becoming more beautiful after being broken. We had chatted about the Japanese art form kintsugi, which repairs pottery with lacquer mixed with gold. This was the perfect imagery for what we were writing about. Our scars are a visual representation of our struggles and our stories of loss are stories of survival. ‘Gold’ feels even more connected and poignant now, after a year of so much loss and everyone just trying to survive.”

The single release is accompanied by the stunning official video. Directed and shot by Jackson Ducasse (Dua Lipa, JC Stewart), it was filmed in the Northampton countryside and sees The Wandering Hearts surrounded by beauty and nature, perfectly complementing the sentiment of the song. Watch HERE.

The album will also feature ‘Over Your Body’, https://thewanderinghearts.lnk.to/OYBPR/youtube and will be released on CD, LP, cassette and download and is available to pre-order HERE. https://wanderinghearts.lnk.to/TWH

The band’s Official Store also has exclusive signed bundles including T-shirts, limited cream LP and gold cassette.

‘Wild Silence’ propelled The Wandering Hearts upon a remarkable journey. After a personal invitation from the legendary Marty Stuart (who wrote and performed on the new song ‘Dreams’), they became the first British band to make their USdebut at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium and then play the Grand Ole Opry in the same week.

An early career highlight came at the UK Americana Awards, where they won the Bob Harris Emerging Artist Award and performed with Robert Plant, Mumford & Sons and Imelda May. Two years on the road followed, which included sold-out headline tours, opening for Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks at Hyde Park, and support slots for Lukas Nelson and Justin Townes Earle.

Deer Fellow – Let It Breathe (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“"Let it breathe" is the recent work of a known Folk duo. Feel the romantic air coming from the instrumental notes. Find the absolute balance in the charming singing of Alyssa Kelly.”

-Nagamag.com

“Let it Breathe” is an ode to repressed memories. Despite trying to push it away, the shame of the subject’s past choices still lingers. The regret of words unsaid can no longer be silenced. Set to guitar, piano, and violin, this is the last song of our debut EP, Words Unsaid.

https://instagram.com/deerfellow

Deer Fellow is an indie folk-pop duo with a “new wave soul twist.” Based out of Austin, bandmates Matt Salois (guitar, vocals) and Alyssa Kelly (violin, vocals, piano) met at an open mic and were quick to collaborate. Fast forward to present day and coupledom, the two have built a cross-genre sound that “pulls you in right away, stirring romance and broken hearts.”

The duo's vocal harmonies and unique guitar-violin blends have landed them features on KUTX 98.9 Radio, CBS Austin, and EASTside Magazine. Often compared to the likes of Andrew Bird and The Civil Wars, Deer Fellow's debut EP, Words Unsaid, presents a collection of authentic songwriting and soundscapes that “surround and warm the soul." From live showcases with Austin greats to virtual festivals alongside such artists as Grammy winner John Paul White, their style and substance have garnered attention within the indie music industry.

Fans describe their live performance as an experience that “gives that warm tingly feeling, like taking a bath with a glass of champagne.” The group currently plays all around Austin and plans to go on tour in the near future.

“If music has the potential to captivate and fascinate, then this song - Sunnyside- is the answer. The Indie-folk works of Nicholas Gunty and Brian Powers do wonders. We highly recommend the music of - Frances Luke Accord-.”

“Если музыка имеет способность очаровывать и завораживать, то это песня -Sunnyside-. Инди-фолк в исполнении Nicholas Gunty и Brian Powers творит чудеса и это чудо уже здесь. Настоятельно рекомендуем музыку -Frances Luke Accord-.”

-Nagamag.com

Chicago, IL (February 19, 2021) - Frances Luke Accord’s next body of work, the Sunnyside EP, will be available in all digital formats starting March 19, 2021. The title track, “Sunnyside,” is available now. Released on the band’s new label, Two-Dale Records, and written during the first months of the pandemic, the song is a rolling meditation on the social unrest in our country, personal depression as a result of COVID isolation, and collective hope. Among the most instrumentally-driven work Frances Luke Accord have released to date, the song features additional contributions from Katie Van Dusen (violin), Luke Jackson (electric guitar, drums), and Don Mitchell (harmonium, production assistance) of Darlingside.

When Nicholas Gunty and Brian Powers put their songs and their voices together, there is a delicate and powerful magic that commands the room to attention. The duo is known as Frances Luke Accord, and they are what NPR’s Mountain Stage calls “the definition of lean-in music.” Their soulful branch of indie-folk is orchestrated with spare and sophisticated acoustic threads woven into a lush backdrop for their intimate melodies. Rich, up-close tenor harmonies lend their timeless songwriting an urgency that honors the Simon & Garfunkel comparisons but pushes beyond into the world of Bon Iver, Jose Gonzalez, and progressive folk music.

Drew William – Man Makes His Borders (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Drew William delivers a new ep, called ROOM under MyRoomStudios imprint. We picked -Man Makes His Borders- as we attached quickly to the soft harmonica and nostalgic, yet freedom vibes it sets to the listener. A soulful song.”

-Nagamag.com

“These songs are all little views of this long drive of life.”

Words have never spoken as much truth for Drew William, a fairly new singer-songwriter that has a special talent of conveying cathartic emotion in every one of his tracks.

Taking this notion to heart, the opening track of William’s "Room" EP “Moonlight,” begins with the roar of an engine and an upbeat chord progression that quickly grabs the listener. Soon after William sings about finding a place away from all the noise of the world.

“That moment where everything feels like it’s on the back burner; wheels off the ground, floating toward that big white moon, all the world growing quiet behind,” William says.

The song is a feel-good anthem that offers lyrical content that is just reflective enough to feel raw and personal—the perfect opener to “Room.”

Next comes “Heal” another reflective tune about learning the lesson that healing comes in strange ways. The song quietly makes its appearance with a tasty finger-picked riff, having just the right amount of guitar effects to make the instrumentation seem all-encompassing, but intimate.

Looking back at this past year—rife with a pandemic and more political and ecological problems than ever imagined—”Heal” is a universal message that anyone can get behind.

“Accepting the hurt is a huge part, and making sure the wound is being cared for so healing can begin. I hope this song can remind us of that,” William adds.

To end is “Man Makes His Borders,” a track that sounds like an indie-pop Bob Dylan—featuring a beautiful harmonica and melody that bleeds feeling with its Americana folk flare. William muses about railroad tracks, fame—an aspect that William knows all too well from his CFL background—and the illusions of everyday life. It’s probably William’s most personal track to date and it and leaves you wanting more.

Drew William also known in the CFL Football world by his full name, Drew Wolitarsky, dived headfirst into music after his football career as a wide receiver for the Winnipeg Bluebombers was put on hold due to COVID-19.

While he was playing football, Drew played in restaurants and coffee shops—events that may seem unreal nowadays. He has been writing his entire life and with his newfound love for music, his creations have taken on a livelier body.

“Dog Has Its Day instantly painted our faces with smiles from the first lines of the song of the same name. Melody of independent folk music or simply and laconically Folk, this is freedom and independence in every note. TOLEDO is talent. And nothing else.”

“Dog Has Its Day мгновенно разукрасил наши лица улыбками с первым строк одноимённой композиции. Мелодичность независимой народной музыки или просто и лаконично Folk, это свобода и независимость в каждой нотке. TOLEDO - это талант. И никак иначе.”

Dog Has Its Day is about the lull after the initial chaos of a relationship breakup. It’s about the time where you play detective, trying to piece together exactly what it is that brought you here. Ultimately, it’s beyond the point, and you try to let things play out as they will.

Like a lot of the songs on the EP, we tracked drums first, and then spent a majority of the time adding background oo’s and ahh’s. The bridge section here is one of our favorite spots. Also, who doesn’t love dogs?!

Titi Woo – To All Who’s Out There (Video)

“Одно из самых необычных и трогательных произведений, которые нам удалось услышать. Эта песня своеобразный авторский реквием, которая была написана Девидом за несколько месяцев до его кончины. To All Who’s Out There навсегда останется в наших сердцах.”

-Nagamag.com

After releasing his debut album “Pollywogs”
which he wrote and recorded with his twin brother David.
Titi Woo returns with a brand new song – a farewell song
that’s been written by his twin brother – David and was recorded
and musically produced by Ori Shlezinger in Newtone studios.

David knew that he was terminally ill and felt the need to farewell
and say his final words.

This song is dedicated to all the people who exist on planet earth and
therefore comes the name : “To All Who’s Out There”.

Furthermore, he asked from his twin brother Jody that the lyrics
from the first verse of the song would be engraved on his gravestone
and so it was.

The animation for the music video was created by Anastasia Miasnikova
as it brings to life the paintings David created while staying at the hospital
prior to his death.

This is his voice and those are his final words.
