Her impressive dexterity as a rapper is not only distinguished through her lyrical content, but also her ability to seamlessly rap over a multitude of different sounds. ‘You Don’t Wanna’ showcases powerful articulation and control, similar to her 2021 debut ‘Cause A Scene’. However, she is also able to demonstrate a soulful conscious rapping style seen in ‘Worst Child’.

Following on from the soulful and more rhythmic method of rapping TrueMendous surprises fans with a sneak peek of ‘Y’, which is teased at the end of the ‘You Don’t Wanna’ music video. The juxtaposition between both tracks exemplifies TrueMendous as an artist and her eclectic sound. Heavily influenced by David Holmes, DJ Shadow, Beach House, Prince and Miles Davis (a.o) he released his debutalbum ‘[[]]” last november 2020, to critical acclaim Now he releases yet another project,inspired by beats Dutch drummer Mischa Porte posted to the internet during lockdown number 1, exactly one year ago on it’s release. For 70 days Mischa Porte played his lockdown blues away, for everyone to use freely. Marcel clinged on for more than 20 days and posted a track inspired by the beat of the day, everyday at 21:00h sharp. This EP is a selection of those tracks.

Jordi Forniés is a Spanish musician, composer, and visual artist based in Singapore. His works are characterised by a continuum between tender overarching refrains and defined sequences with increasing momentum.

Always contemplative and expansive in nature, his compositions draw on neoclassical and ambient electronic music. Forniés composes for piano, strings, and small ensembles, working with studio recordings alongside electronic elements.

His first album Loudly Quiet will be released in 2021 together with his forthcoming solo exhibition under the same name. The album is a hopeful and poignant collection of compositions for piano and strings which each focus around an individual story or transient moment.

He has often worked in collaboration with others including Bouvaque with photographer and filmmaker Han Sungpil for which Forniés’ created a piano and string quartet score. He has composed for films including Caroline Fink’s epic documentary about the receding of the largest glacier in Switzerland, Aletsch: Of Ice and Men, 2016, and made music for documentaries and video installations with Gitta Gsell. He also worked on Yan Wang Preston’s major project Mother River, which was exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2015.

A classically trained pianist since childhood, educated at Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Vila-seca in Spain, Forniés returned to music study in 2017 gaining an MFA in Music Composition and Orchestration at Chichester University in the UK. He is a member of the Composers Society of Singapore.

San Francisco based, Jazz singer/songwriter, Jacqui Naylor has a unique style all her own. Born and raised in Saratoga, CA, Naylor (jacquinaylor.com) initially entered college to study marketing, but after hearing the album Sarah Vaughan Sings George Gershwin in a music appreciation class, Naylor became seriously interested in vocal jazz, later studying with Faith Winthrop and Shirley Calloway. Naylor recorded her self-titled debut in 1998 and released it on her own independent label, Ruby Star Records, the following year. She went on to record ten more releases, which have been praised by the likes of Vogue, Wall Street Journal and New York Magazine, for her signature “acoustic smashing” technique, singing jazz standards over rock classics, and her original music. Davy Sage is a dance-pop and R&B recording artist and songwriter from Regina, SK Canada. His music achievements to date have been hard won and he’s primed for new successes to come.

Irish composer Brian Crosby makes his debut solo release with a stunning collection of 9 delicate instrumental pieces recorded on a prepared upright piano in his remote treehouse studio at the foot of the Wicklow mountains in Ireland.

“I wanted to write piano music that has a certain restraint and stillness to it. Pieces that lag behind the regular tempo of our routines, and melodies that resist following huge emotive curves. It comes from a place uninterrupted, an escape from the noise and stimuli of daily life”.

Brian’s minimal approach to piano playing and his attention to detail in capturing every sonic detail of the instrument results is a spacious collection of meditative, pared back recordings filled with hypnotic, recurring phrases and textural soundscapes recorded on a beautifully restored August Förster piano from the 1920’s which he brought back to Ireland after his time spent living and recording in Berlin.

Vancouver musician Nickolaj (pronounced Nickolai) is excited to announce the release of his new single ‘First Place’ out today on all digital platforms. The track is the lead single from Nickolaj’s debut EP Step Into The Light, which is set for release this summer.

Step Into The Light is produced by award-winning composer Adrian Emond and was recorded entirely by Nickolaj and Adrian in their respective home studios. Working remotely between Vancouver and Calgary, they were able to find ways to collaborate on the album virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic.
