Phillip LaRue – Colors

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , |

“A single of Phillip LaRue's upcomming release is now available, especially for the fans of Neoclassical sound. The artist has chosen string instruments in order to capture a strong feeling of love and finally share it with his audience. The result sounds pretty successful and the lyrics quite poignant.”

Nettwerk is happy to announce the signing of Nashville-based singer, songwriter, artist, and producer Phillip LaRue to its label roster. His new EP Colors is set for release September 16th. Today, he shares the title track, where elegant strings and delicate piano swell together with his vocals to ring out in a luminous release.

“The song itself is about a painful experience when I initially gave up on the idea of love,” Phillip admits. “I fell in love, and it was different from what I expected. ‘Colors’ tries to capture the moment of infatuation and falling. I’m totally lost in the feeling, but I’m found in it as well. It’s the memory when a sunset takes your breath away. It’s how I feel about my wife. I tried to bottle the emotion and put it into a song.”

Britt Daley – Come Clean

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“Like a breeze of cool air, the fresh release from "Britt Daley" brings joy and rest with its playful touch. Enveloping Synthpop sound, followed by one of the most melodic voices. Music packed with positive energy, which we noticed from the very start too.”

"Come Clean" is a sparkling pop anthem about laying everything out on the table and telling your significant other what's on your mind instead of 'cold shouldering' them. It's also a natural progression from my album, Daydreams & Movie Scenes, which the majority of was also written and produced with Kinsey Dulcet. http://brittdaley.com/

Liv Charette – Game Over

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“With strong self-esteem and personal style, Liv Charette makes an impressive appearance in the scene of Pop. Inspired by a relationship that is over, this single has captured the magic of old, retro-gaming sounds also reminding us that life is a game too!”

-Nagamag.com

“‘Game Over’ is about the point where you realize you are worth so much more than what someone has put you through. It is the perfect sequel to ‘Red Flags White’ which centers on staying casually in a bad relationship, despite all the red flags. ‘Game Over’ is the ultimate kiss off to anyone who has done you wrong! I’ve been a huge video game fan forever and I wanted to write a song about the end of a relationship as if it were the end of a video game.

‘Dance music to get your feels into’ (MTV)

Friday 13th May 2022, London: Following the enormous response to Daniel Blume’s already impressive portfolio of ‘sad songs that bang’, new single ‘On The Side’ is the first track to be released from his forthcoming new EP.

Marking a new era for the multi-instrumentalist, writer, vocalist and producer; the release of his EP will fully allow his voice to be heard, as he pushes his art to new heights and steps out as an unstoppable artist in his own right. His story-driven debut is forged out of an experience of heartbreak and challenging times and begins with the emotive club-ready single ‘On The Side’ out today.

Daniel Blume’s reputation as one of the most exciting breakout artists in his native home of Ireland is well-established. From the release of his own singles ‘Nights Like This’, ‘Catch Feelings’ & ‘Heartbreaker’, to his collaborations with the industry’s biggest names, including global smash with Cheat Codes ‘Who’s Got Your Love’ (which has racked over 90 million global streams, topping the US Billboard Dance charts), ‘Rapture’ with Brazilian superstar producer Alok (41 million streams), and ‘Out of Time’ with Manchester’s TCTS; Blume’s energetic production style and natural knack for a soaring pop chorus has earned him comparisons to Calvin Harris and The Chainsmokers, as well as accolades from the likes of MTV (‘One To Watch’), RTÉ and The Sunday Times.

With songwriting credits for Ella Henderson and an acclaimed remix of Dermot Kennedy’s hit single ‘Giants’ showcasing his versatility, it’s only a matter of time before his own shimmering, emotional bangers become chart fixtures.

Daniel says, “‘On The Side’ was born at a time I’d been going through an experience where I was being played and strung along by somebody, and I wanted to try and channel that emotion into a really condensed and snappy vocal hook. It sat on my laptop for 2 years because I didn’t know what to do with it and then fast forward to now, it ended up being one of the key pillars that led me to discovering my sound as an artist, so it had to be the song that led this new era of my career!”

Given his talent for creating modernist dance, Blume’s background may come as a surprise. His classical training began as a child, where he earned a place at the world-renowned Yehudi Menuhin School, studying guitar and piano all funded via a scholarship set up by The Rolling Stones. At the age of 15, Daniel won the BBC’s Young Composer of the Year Award, and a glittering career in the world of classical music seemed to be his destiny. But by that point, Blume was already enamoured by the world of electronic music, with Martin Garrix’s ‘Animals’ being the track that rewrote his future.

Lauren Balthrop – Piece of Shit

Categories: Rock, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“In this new single “Lauren Balthrop” puts in order some of her basic thoughts through a procedure of self evaluation. In many aspects of life we try hard to prove our value but -in fact- there’s no reason for all this effort. Music with attitude and lyrics of deep meaning.”

-Nagamag.com

Nashville-based folk-pop singer-songwriter Lauren Balthrop announced this morning the August 12 release of her sophomore album, Things Will Be Different via Olivia Records – [album presave]. With the news, she shares the first single, “Piece of Shit” with an accompanying animated lyric video

“Piece of Shit” was written at the beginning of the pandemic when Balthrop felt detached and uninspired. “It’s a very vulnerable song about low self-esteem,” she shared. “It’s about feeling like you have to prove your worth to everyone and at the same time knowing that that’s bullshit and it’s all in your head. The snarky first line, ‘why do I feel like a piece of shit all the time,’ encompasses the duel between self-rejection and self-acceptance.

A folk-pop singer-songwriter in the lineage of Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, and Carole King, Lauren Balthrop makes captivating, candid music propelled by her crystalline voice and has been acclaimed by Stereogum, Paste, Under The Radar, No Depression, and more. A continuation of the title of her debut solo album, THIS TIME AROUND, Things Will Be Different is a dynamic folk-pop collection of 11 songs that examines nostalgia in all its brutal and benignly beautiful forms. Featuring open tuning, haunting string arrangements, and delicate vocal melodies, the songs reflect the depths of love lost, revealing Balthrop’s growth as an artist along the way: “This is the first record that feels entirely, fully my own. It’s about anxiety and heartbreak, and the millions of little moments that make up both. It’s about being stuck in the present but fixated on the past… and moving through to the other side.”
