Blue Light Bandits, Ricky Duran – She’s Not The One (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Whether looking for something to express inner thoughts or just please your ears "She's Not The One" may be the right choice! The single that came to stay in your music list for a long time. Rock influenced style and dominating guitar chords that we loved from the first seconds.”

-Nagamag.com

“She’s Not The One” is our fourth single and it’s a co-write with former band member, Ricky Duran. Ricky moved to Austin, TX to chase the blues, and shortly after became the runner-up winner on Season 17 of NBC’s The Voice. The three verses are lead by each writer/singer as personalized accounts of frivolous relationships and the emotional aftermath. As expected, this collaboration comes with a catchy group chorus, rich vocal harmonies, and a soaring guitar solo to finish.

Monelise – Silver Lake (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“Monelise knows very well how to attract and captivate your mind. Different sound styles have been used to produce something unique and "Silver Lake" is the final result. The artist's epic voice and the clarity of mixing, are basic elements of success. Good job!”

-Nagamag.com

Shapeshifting, genre-bending and aesthetically captivating artist Monelise releases ‘Silver Lake’, the latest product of her evocative mission to bring a new, refreshing and mystical quality to the world of experimental dream pop. ‘Silver Lake’ follows the release of ‘Sliding Worlds’ in February. Monelise’s music has gained over 250,000 streams in less than 9 months, and she is becoming known for entrancing audiences with her mysterious audio-visual live shows - both in person and online.

Speaking on the track, Monelise quotes: “Silver Lake is a mythical story as old as time itself; yet woven into a shimmering, kaleidoscopic soundscape that occupies a world of its own. When writing I was inspired by the song ‘Mysteries of Love’ from David Lynch’s Blue Velvet. I wanted to create something transcendent, celestial and unlike anything else out there. A soundscape that blends all of life’s most intense and moving experiences - life, death, love, loss - into one, ultimately beautiful and complete whole. Lyrically, Silver Lake tells the story of a woman who, upon losing her lover, discovers his spirit floating above the mystical silver lake. Their worlds momentarily collide in this liminal space and they manage to touch one last time before she is able to ‘release him’. Yet, we are left with a cliffhanger - during the song’s last moments, does she follow him into the afterlife or accept the fact she can now ‘find’ him only at Silver Lake?

Monelise forges a unique blend of nostalgia and futurism in her work. It is as though she stands at the gateway of past and future as her music weaves an uncanny yet beautiful dance between the two. She proudly defies singular categorisation, having been compared in equal measure to Kate Bush, David Lynch and Sevdaliza. Recently, she began to release a series of singles that mirror the zeitgeist of 2020 -2021 in creative and unprecedented ways. “Clockwork Heart”, “Insane” and “Sliding Worlds” echo the signature hypnotic quality of Hauntology (2019) yet surprises listeners with industrially inspired beats, kaleidoscopic sound mixing and more prominent, cinematic strings.

Cait – Forgetful (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Fabulus song with irresistible warming effect. Pure sound that touches the heart and the charming singing voice of "Cait" can immediately take away all the day's weight. Your acoustic elixir is here and we strongly recommend it.”

-Nagamag.com

LA-based singer & songwriter, Cait is back with her second single of 2020, "Forgetful" set to release on September 4th. Colorful guitars, confessional lyrics and Cait's undeniable vocals are an escape from reality for her listeners and will leave you wondering what you were so stressed out about, anyway.

"When we wrote this song I was completely overworked," says Cait, reflecting on the writing process. "I had been traveling a lot, away from my boyfriend and dog and home, and I had way too much on my plate. This song is really about being able to call that person in your life who brings you out of your depths - a partner, a friend, a family member. Everyone needs someone to make them forgetful."

An artist in multiple realms, Cait is also a closely followed visual artist, photographer, retoucher & videographer - and is the sole visual creator for her music career. That dream-like cover artwork you see above? It's the result of putting Cait in a room alone with a camera & Photoshop. She even directed, filmed, & edited her own music video for "Forgetful", which drops September 10th.

Porcelain – Hold Me In The Dark (Video)

Categories: Electronica, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“The concept is very clever & I will not give it away here. You will have to listen & decide for yourselves. Will the music seduce you? Will the singer invoke a feeling of love or lust within you? Maybe both? You will feel something. I guarantee it, but what?”

-Nagamag.com

‘Hold Me In The Dark’ is deliberately bittersweet, inviting listeners to choose whether to hear darkness or light in both the instrumentation and the lyrics.

For those that hear darkness ‘Hold Me In The Dark’ sets the scene with a picturesque but hazy description of an illicit love affair laced with betrayal and obsession. This tortured scene romanticizes unrequited love and the longing to embrace the reality through an embrace.

While for those that hear light ‘Hold Me In The Dark’ is a serenely beautiful midnight dance, enveloped in the arms of the one you love, while long velvet drapes blow and candles flicker in a balmy summer breeze. ‘Hold Me In The Dark’ was inspired by Carl Jung’s concept of the shadow self which proclaims “I must have a dark side also if I am to be whole”.

SLEEVEENS – The Draw (Video)

Categories: Neoclassical, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“The power of music is so great that it can transfer our deepest feelings. “SLEEVEENS” prove their ability to give shape in raw sound with this sophisticated, dedicated to love, Neoclassical piece.”

-Nagamag.com

The Draw is a love song about the magnetism between flawed individuals and the perceived certainty that we can find in each other.
The track starts out with a composition of beautiful strings and haunting vocals.
The video for The Draw, features footage from the film “She Shoulda Said No!”, featuring Lila Leeds.

The tragic story of the demise of Lila Leeds’s film career and her participation in the making of this exploitation film touches heavily on themes within the song about being pulled towards reckoning with uncomfortable truths that upset our world view. And in the current cultural landscape where attitudes towards gender, representation and identity are in flux it is important to remember examples of tragic discrimination like that of Lila Leeds.

“Glory In the Meeting House” – Sandeep Das and Mike Block (Video)

Categories: The Latest, Video, World Music|Tags: , , , , |

“I almost don’t know what to say about this wonderful, joyous uplifting piece of music except maybe “Wow! That was genuinely mind blowing!.” A cello played like a fiddle? Accompanied by tabla? How could that possibly work? Well work it did and then some! Apparently, a traditional Appalachian fiddle tune that to my ears, also had a distinctive Irish & Indian feel. A masterclass by Mike Block & Sandeep Das. I could almost taste the moonshine & I’m getting the album for sure.”

-Nagamag.com

GRAMMY-winning cellist Mike Block and GRAMMY-winning tablaist Sandeep Das have released “Glory In The Meeting House,” their first single from their upcoming album, Where The Soul Never Dies, due out June 11 release via Bright Shiny Things.

“‘Glory in the Meeting House;’ is a traditional Appalachian fiddle tune, learned via Kentucky fiddler Luther Strong, who recorded it for Alan Lomax in 1937. In addition to adapting the fiddle melody for the cello, I changed the tuning of my instrument to create low drone strings in the key of E, to broaden the rhythmic texture surrounding the melody. This track also marks the the first time in Sandeep Das’ career that he has experimented with using two separate Tabla’s tuned to different pitches, creating an untraditional percussive texture with multiple pitches. The energy of the piece captures the spontaneity and friendship Sandeep and I feel, as we learned from each other’s musical traditions.” — Mike Block

“When you're about to listen a new release, you usually don't expect an ordinary sound. "New Transitions" is exactly what you want. Made for all the House maniacs, it also carries some cool taste of spiritual relaxation!”

-Nagamag.com

Spring is here and we are happy to present to you a new EP courtesy from Yöurr, producer and DJ based in Hungary, with two original tracks: "New Transitions" and "Broken Barriers". And that's not all, in this pack we also included a remix of French duo Pandhora for "New Transitions" that is intended to fill our spirits with energy.

The first track "New Transitions" is a sound progression that brings us closer. it's an intimate, deep and spatial state of fulfilment. A sound experience full of emotions, dreamlike sensations and euphoria.

"Broken Barriers", the second track, has the magical characteristic of taking us to a universe of colours far from the isolation caused by the pandemic. This track materializes the energy we need to return to the dancefloor; turning percussions and synthesizers into the desire to feel free through dance again.

The last track is a solid reshape by Pandhora for "New Transitions". It's loaded with elements that make us travel to the best memories we have. It's an invitation to put our eyes on the future.

We have missed the magical ritual of dancing surrounded by people but the dreamy breakdown of this piece is the perfect spell to fill that void.
