Song Critique: Roger D’Arcy – Lifeboat | Rock Review

Music Review:

Lyrics of Roger D’Arcy – Lifeboat

I would leave the beaten track for you but I’m no guide
Change horses in mid stream for you but I don’t ride
I’d keep my feelings out of sight but I’ve no place to hide
I’m afraid that what you see is what you get

I’d tell you that I understand but I don’t lie
Save the day like Superman but I don’t fly
I’d wipe away the tears for you but I’m the one who cries
I’m afraid that what you see is what you get

Though tonight I may be drunk
In the morning I’ll be sober
But fools will still be fools, they will tell you foolish things
And my lifeboat has been sunk
I was wrong to overload her
I tried to save some souls but far too many souls climbed in

I would turn and fight another day but I won’t swerve
Fall upon my knees to pray but I don’t serve
I’d gladly sell my soul for you but I know what it’s worth
I’m afraid that what you see is what you get

Though tonight I may be drunk
In the morning I’ll be sober
But fools will still be fools and they will tell you foolish things
And my lifeboat has been sunk
I was wrong to overload her
I tried to save some souls but far too many souls climbed in’

Far too many souls climbed in

There’s nothing I can leave behind that I can spare
You’re wrong to think that I’m unkind, that I don’t care
It’s too late for you to look for me ‘cos I’m no longer there
I’m afraid that what you see is what you get

Though tonight I may be drunk
In the morning I’ll be sober
But fools will still be fools. they will tell you foolish things
And my lifeboat has been sunk
I was wrong to overload her
I tried to save some souls but far too many souls climbed in

Release Review: Roger D’Arcy – Fortune | Rock Music

Music Review:

Lyrics of Roger D’Arcy – Fortune

If I find my fortune I will gve it all to you
I don’t care for rich folk or the things they like to do
You would use it wisely, you would not give in to greed
If I kept it I’d just buy guitars that I don’t need

I’m fine with nothing

I have known good people, all the best of them were broke
What they had, they’d gladly share, I listened when they spoke
Never spent their time on chasing shiny things to own
I’d have joined them long ago if only I had known

I’m fine with nothing
And I can wait for summer for this cold to pass
And I can kill this hunger with another glass
Just give me one more for the road
Sometimes nothing can be the coolest hand to hold

We can wander round for years and never get too far
Seems we must get lost before we work out who we are
And dreams can get all tangled up in complicated plans
Do your best to save your own, come find me when you can

I’m fine with nothing
And I can wait for summer for this cold to pass
And I can kill this hunger with another glass
Just give me one more for the road
Sometimes nothing can be the coolest hand to hold

Release Review: Roger D’Arcy – Bloodline | Rock Music

Categories: Audio, Rock, Song, Spotify, The Latest, Video, Youtube|Tags: , , , , , , |

Music Review:

Lyrics of Roger D’Arcy – Bloodline

It don`t need to count for nothing
You just have to pass it on
Or you`ll wind up at the end of the blood-line
With no flowers on your grave
And no one to call your name

It don`t mean that much to me
It might mean something to you
It you wind up at the end of the blood-line
And the sun comes up
As the days run down

I have kept my eyes wide open
Seen the good side and the bad
Wouldn’t say it’s worth the tears or the heartache
I’ve seen all I need to see
Once around’s enough for me

Now it don`t mean that much to me
It might mean something to you
It you wind up at the end of the blood-line
And the sun comes up
As the days run down

Remember every fool you meet was once some loving mothers son

It’s a long way I have come
Many things that I have done
May you find your own fair share of luck and fortune
My own journey ends with me
I’m content to let it be

Now it don`t mean that much to me
It might mean something to you
If it stops here at the end of the blood-line
And the sun comes up
As the days run down
