“It is amazing how the piano and guitar are combined with such a pleasant romantic vocal. Inspired chorus makes everything so good that the listener feels the need to play on repeat the whole day. Light Indie Folk, a little smaller on the synthesizer background and you take care of calm and harmony.”

“Поразительно, как пиано и гитара сочетаются с таким приятным, романтическим вокалом. Воодушевленный припев делает всё для того, чтобы слушатель напевал иго, как минимум, по 100, а то и более раз за день. Лёгкий indie folk, немного тлеющего на фоне синтезатора и вы обретаете спокойствие и гармонию.”

“A finely balanced, perfectly produced blending of a finger picked acoustic guitar and male/female vocals give a refreshing, clear & vibrant warm to the beginning of the track. The additional drums, bass, keys & distorted electric guitar are skilfully stacked over-time lift the track to even greater heights & include a tremolo gated effect that adds even more interest to an already absorbing song.”

-Nagamag.com

"'Light Boy' was a song off of our EP Echoes & Relics which came out in 2016. Around that time, one of my friends and roommates Alex Robinson had a little studio setup at our house. One day I go over to him as he's working and he goes, "Listen to this." He was recording his own version of 'Light Boy.' The chord progression was different, the melody was the same but it was really refreshing to hear in a folk styling that I don't traditionally write in. Flash forward three years and he's now a member of our band. I really liked the version of this track that he created with the folk sensibility that he brought, so we decided to bring the entire band to the studio and added in some slide and drums and bass. My favorite little nugget of trivia about it is at the end of the song, you can hear a sound recording from Al's grandparents' cabin in the middle of nowhere North Carolina, where we were just recording nature, and you can hear a bird gently chirping in the background."

"The song is about feeling chemistry with someone and really thinking a relationship is going to develop when the reality of the situation is that a romantic connection isn't there. It's a song describing the emotions I felt at the time, and when I was let down, I wanted that person to remember me and what we could have been.

“We remind you this not so new piece from "Svavar Knútur". Selected elegant guitar melodies and slow singing ideal for all Folk fans. Enjoy again this wonderful trip that brings in mind the endless sea waves with the blowing wind passing gently from the ears.”

-Nagamag.com

This is a song about the conflicted emotion of Wanderlust. Based on the rhythm of a old polish train with a loud clunk in its wheels. Being torn between the optimistic joy of travel and exploration and the ever pulling love of family and friends.

https://twitter.com/SvavarKnutur

Svavar Knútur returns with his new album "Ahoy! Side A". The title already indicates it. The five songs written in 2017 and 2018 form the first half of his new double album, which will be released next year with a sound that will surprise his fans.

One song is in the focus of this release, which will surprise with its indie rock and a determined, overflowing energy: The opener "The Hurting". Powerful and with a stoic-pounding beat, that is how we have rarely heard Svavar Knútur. In addition to the five new songs, which were created in 2017 and 2018, new recordings of four old songs will be released.

The Icelandic singer / songwriter and entertainer Svavar Knútur is a musician with countless facets, preferring to name his genre Indie Nordic Folk Pop (INFP). He manages with an ease and exuberant sympathy to enchant and enthrall every audience from the first moment. He presents his songs alongside a spread of absurd stories and meanderings, seasoned with a good dose of black Icelandic humor.

www.facebook.com/svavarknutur

“This man from Iceland embodies everything a perfect entertainer should be: he is a true character, straightforward with a pure and bright personality, whose genuine and unpretentious air goes above and beyond the mundane.” - Marc-Stefan Andres (u.a. Zeit, SZ, Brandeins)

Svavar Knutur’s performances have been widely praised, in both the Icelandic and the international press. The German edition of Rolling Stone noted Svavar’s exceptional storytelling, charismatic stage presence and his “soft cotton, Nordic folk reverie”. Brisbane’s Rave magazine also described the young troubadour as having “swoon-worthy vocals” complimenting the “beautiful simplicity and raw emotion of his songs”. Influenced by such songwriters as Nick Drake, Kris Kristofferson and Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Svavar has developed his own style.

Jane Jensen – Tikkun Olam (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, The Latest, World Music|Tags: , , , |

“From the Album ‘Enchant’ by Jane Jenson ‘Tikkun Olam’ is a Hebrew phrase meaning “Repair the World.” Delivered with an almost therapeutic repetition in a middle-eastern style, the vocals are soothing, engaging.and somewhat addictive. The experience is intended to reduce anxiety and heal the mind & body. A gem of a track from a deeply spiritual album.”

-Nagamag.com

https://linktr.ee/janejensenmusic

The new album is titled Enchant. It is a pure audio fantasy. It is intended to be a brain massage and a break from reality. It is for deep chilling and escape. Mostly, it is the repetition of a few words in either Aramaic, Sanskrit, Tamil or Hebrew - languages that have no distracting emotional baggage - it's more about having a therapeutic experience, healing from injury, staving off anxiety and the ever-lurking, waiting in the wings, depression.
