Quiet Arrows – Love Your Ghost

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“A wonderfully deep hitting contemplative piece of contemporary poetic minimalism. Stripped to the essentials, the arrangement blends the hushing, languorous voice of Samuel Robertson (backed superbly by female vocals) with intimate string counterparts for a musical experience meant to be savoured obsessively.”

Quiet Arrows is the project of Samuel Robertson, a wordsmith who sings with a hushed voice on the softly undulating fingerpicking of an acoustic guitar. Teaching himself guitar for the first time at the age of 25, Samuel first began writing songs with his wife Hannah in the singer-songwriter duo The Woodlands, and Quiet Arrows evolved simultaneously. He introduced the project with Continents Were Made to Sink in 2012. Three years later, Year of The Cartographer yielded the fan favorite “Find A Way.” It amassed north of 28.1 million Spotify streams as he moved up popular playlists such as Your Favorite Coffeehouse, Dinner Music, Evening Acoustic, Folk Feast, and more. He maintained this momentum with Deconstructionism Parts 1 & 2, which presented acoustic and alternate takes of tunes throughout the Quiet Arrows catalog. In between working on music for the Woodlands and relocating to McCall, ID, he carefully crafted new Quiet Arrows music. The songs have a signature emotive quality -- poetic lyrics, introspective pondering, lush harmonies, interesting arrangements.

“Воздушные, запоминающиеся звуки гитары, чёткий ритм барабанов и выразительный вокал -SAVEN-, чей невероятный тембр вслушиваться в каждое слово. Разнообразная структура и запоминающийся мотив позволяют погрузиться в насыщенную и глубокую атмосферу Indie Rock.”

-Nagamag.com

“Falling Falling Down” by “Saven” is an alt-country / indie rock song. The song is about taking the wrong path without really fully understand why. It is about being in a unhealthy situation and trying to bring the unconscious reasons for your decisions to your awareness. The music and lyrics present a struggle and fall within oneself. One between sticking to a rewarding and self-fulfilling path and being enticed and distracted from it.

As the tones from the acoustic guitar slide down the neck of the guitar, it completely matches the sentiment of the song. Actually everything about the song: the guitar riff, the heavy vocals, the steel-stringed slide guitar and the drums, draws you in. The ebb and flow of the arrangement is captivating and leaves you utterly enchanted as the song finally reaches a crescendo of emotional rock magic.

This track conveys a feeling of despair, fear and avoidance. In a sense it feels like a mix between a cry for help and hopelessness. If you can relate with the lyrics: “no God will save me”, that “Heaven is fading” and that you are “Falling Falling Down” perhaps this song is for you. https://www.facebook.com/savenmusic/

Such a living and majestic ocean, whose tides and flows are able to take up consciousness and contribute to creative impulse. How many were created by beautiful works from his shores and this acoustic ballad did not exception. You have never experienced so many positive emotions.”

“Такой живой и величественный океан, чьи приливы и отливы способны взбудоражить сознание и поспособствовать творческому порыву. Как много было создано прекрасных произведений у его берегов и данная акустическая баллада не стала исключением. Столько положительных эмоций вы ещё не испытывали никогда.”

Eline Høyer – Worth to Keep

“A new gem is out from "Eline Høyer" and sounds quite unique too. This single reveals the artist's mesmerizing voice and the lyrics are its main part. Calm, expressive and authentic work, balancing between Pop and Folk.”

-Nagamag.com

“Worth To Keep” stands out from the other tracks on this Ep with its minimalistic approach. In a sense it's almost bare like Eline Høyer`s raw and dynamic vocals also refers to, being up most vulnerable by sharing your fears and insecurities while coming to terms with the fact that you are worthy of anything. This track is the most vocal-driven one, almost to the point where it crosses borders from pop to soul music. Further on she's accompanied by drums and bass to give it even more depth and atmosphere for Eline Høyer ́s vocals to shine through with hints of the pop and indie genre throughout the song.

https://www.elinehoyer.com/

Eline Høyer is a singer songwriter originally from Troms in northern Norway. Høyer moved to the south of Norway at the age of 7 but remains a northerner at heart. Embracing her misplacement, her music is emotional, honest, raw, soft and heart-rending depending on the theme with a voice that captivates and mesmerises. As a singer-songwriter Høyer is inspired by a wide range of different styles embodying the Acoustic pop, soul, indie and folk genres in a single powerful package.

Abby Litten – 404

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

-Automatic Translation with Google Translate-
Vocal -abby Litten- sounds timidly and touching, she is able to conquer the heart of anyone. Acoustic music produces a shifter impression. The melody slowly wals from the clock to the beat, urging you listen to every note. A striking beauty work.”

“Вокал -Abby Litten- звучит робко и трогательно, она способна покорить сердце любого. Акустическая музыка производит душещипательное впечатление. Мелодия медленно вальсирует из такта в такт, призывая вас вслушиваться в каждую ноту. Поразительной красоты произведение.”

-Nagamag.com

‘404’ is the inaugural release from UK-based Americana artist Abby Litten. Her first ever offering of music, it’s a beautifully constructed track that resembles something you’d expect deep into a distinguished career. In her own words, “it's a big leap out of my comfort zone” – yet one that is sure to land her exciting opportunities moving forward.

https://www.instagram.com/abbylittenmusic/

Litten describes how she took inspiration from Noah Cyrus, Johnny Cash and folk-Americana legends Old Crow Medicine Show during the conception of ‘404’ – wanting to create the feeling of movement throughout the song. She executes this aptly; the rolling percussion and basslines give the track an uplifting feel, alongside twangy guitar riffs and the odd sweet backing vocal. There’s shades of Tenille Towne, though it’s a softer number with beautiful melodies and rousing energy.

The new artist from Bristol is venturing into the world of Americana and Blues. She’s always been a lyricist, she explains: “When I was younger I would print lyrics of songs I loved and try to understand the way the artist or song-writer was feeling when they wrote it.” Litten’s voice needs no underscoring – this single has her full vocal ability on show. Her rolling, soothing melodies – with a sprinkling of sombre undertones – make for a moving listen.

The lyrics speak of discontentment – the ongoing struggles of constantly having to make life changing decisions. Litten asserts her lyric-writing conditions: “It's really important to me that everything I write is authentic to the way I am feeling at the time and the experiences I have had.” She reveals her rather modest creative process, saying “everything I write comes from what I am thinking about in the moment and a few chords on the ukulele. If I like it, it grows from there.”

Litten wrote ‘404’ while living in Ontario, Canada, at a time she wanted to be as far from home as possible. Despite her retreat from the familiarity of Bristol, she still “pined over the things I disliked when I lived in the UK.” It’s this sense of despondency that fuelled the conception of the song – the bitter feeling of not knowing what you want from life, Litten says. “Everyone has been through a period in their lives that they can relate this song to.”

With its touching message and stirring feel, ‘404’ is a well-conceived introduction to the music world. The solid mastering and production are courtesy of Hattie Murdoch, who Litten touts as incredible to work with in the way that she gave depth to the singer’s ideas.
