This is an original concept from a unique black voice. This is a Somber song about a person who lies to themselves about being in Love with who they are enamored with, so their heart wouldn't get broken. Though its sublime harmonies and warm voice, Falling is a wonderful song to laid back.

Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Cory Young is 21 years old and was born and raised in California. His district raspy voice, and blues guitar playing grabs the attention of many.

Categories: Audio, Downtempo Features, Electronica, Features, The Latest|Tags: , , |

Wonderful laid back beats with beautiful sound design in this atmospheric chill out from Martin Rott.
A track with a right downtempo groove and melancholic harmonies.

Few words about Martin Rott:
Born in Ohio, USA, Martin grew up in Germany with mom and dad being classical violinists, receiving drum lessons from age 6, whilst developing self-taught piano, guitar and bass skills playing in school and church bands.

Leaving home at age 16 to join his first rock band he went on to earn a professional music education including studies at Berklee, Boston, USA, the Conservartory of Enschede, NL, a diploma as a Jazz-Musician from the School of Music and Perf. Arts Mannheim and a BA in music production from the Popakademie Mannheim, where he wrote and produced his first LP for his indie-pop duo „anstatt Blumen“. After teaching drums, playing in and producing several bands from all genres he worked as an in-house producer of Austrias largest commercial studio in Vienna until game score giant dynamedion welcomed him to their team of external composers in 2014. Since then he's scored for more than 60 episodes of „Der Lehrer“, series like „Der Staatsanwalt“, „Milk and Honey“, several tv-movies for all major german tv-networks and award winning feature films.

In his own Berlin based studio, having his grand piano placed seamlessly next to the production desk, Martin works on finding a unique sound for every theme he writes.

Emerging from this work now for the first time he's planning to release 2 solo EPs and one album with his very own artistic vision of beats and soundscapes, to make room for some of the many ideas based on pictures wich haven't been captured on film yet…

Toma Hawk, Dr.Acid – Velvet (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Techno, The Latest|Tags: , , |

Toma Hawk is back with a brand-new collaboration with the elusive Dr Acid and by no means are they messing about! ‘Velvet’ is a serious Techno tune that has a complex drum-like rhythm and driving energy to ease the listener in before the haunting robotic elements quickly introduce the heart-pounding bass.

After 1 minute, the full beat is brought in with the power of making you lose yourself within the music. The mid-section completely cuts out with waves of synths flowing in and out of the music and adding yet another element of drama. ‘Velvet’ is everything you could want from a techno tune and is capable of transporting you to the middle of the dancefloor at a techno rave.

This release also features remixes from DJ Ralph and Marcel Warren along with Toma Hawk’s extra Mon.Ton remix. A treat for the ears and soul!

DJ Ralph is a true pioneer of the French Techno scene and rubs shoulders with legends such as Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier and Sven Väth. His take on Toma Hawk’s ‘Velvet’ features lots of euphoric melodies, robotic sounds and a hard-hitting beat which offers a complete transformation as he flaunts his producing skills.

Marcel Warren is a long-time friend of Toma and has an incredible career where he has played iconic clubs such as Privilege, Manga Rosa and Matrixx, his remix, again, offers a fresh interpretation where he has imprinted his own signature style and has made an anthem for the clubs.

Toma Hawk came from a big musical family and draws influences from genres such as classical, pop, rock and electronic which all culminate into stand-out productions which have stood the test of time as his career has spanned over the last 25 years. Having worked with many great producers and artists over time, Toma Hawk has become a staple in the underground Techno scene.

Velvet is out now on Toma Hawk’s Lakota Records.

RefraQ – Necromancer
(Spotify)

RefraQ is the alias of Joe Mawson, a young music producer and visual artist from the South West of England. Tipped by UKF, and signed to the Inspected imprint, RefraQ will release his ‘Northlands EP’ on 17th June. The four track release features new productions ‘Necromancer’, ‘The Phasmid’, ‘Plucked From The Pixie Ring’, and ‘Voices Of Aorr’. ‘The ‘Northlands EP’ follows his acclaimed debut for Inspected, entitled ‘RUK’.

A genuinely groundbreaking artist, RefraQ creates complex electronic arrangements that could be broadly placed under the banner of electronica, but also take in elements of broken beat, ambient, and early dubstep; the result is like folk music from another corner of the solar system. Across the four tracks, the ‘Northlands EP’ exemplifies his otherworldly and genuinely futuristic sounding take on electronic music, and after several years of rave revivalism a look to the future feels like a refreshing change.

RefraQ’s video art brings his music to life. A digital artist, Mawson creates videos for each of his releases; he visualises each piece of music when writing it, sketching out ideas in the studio for each project that will be turned into the final short film. The drawings and sketches that are brought to life in stunningly immersive animation are abstract and fantastical, like something akin to intergalactic pop art.

As a member of visionary collective, Soda Island (who released the acclaimed album ‘A Trip to Soda Island’), RefraQ has been working alongside Funilab and Studio Syro, on a forthcoming animated virtual reality series, ‘Tales From Soda Island’ for Facebook and Oculus. The approximately 5-minute VR short features 3D animation - created in the Quill creation app - and brings it to life with spatial audio and special effects. The trailer can be found here, and the Oculus link here: https://ocul.us/3cMzZhY.

Party Nails – Eden
(Spotify)

Party Nails (née Elana Belle Carroll) joined choir at 8, picked up the viola at 10, and the guitar at 11. By 12 she was playing original songs at open mics around her hometown of Chatham, New York, and at 17 picked up production. After moving to Los Angeles in October of 2014, Party Nails waitressed, made music and didn’t do much else. A year later Neon Gold premiered Party Nails’ first single “Break” which was followed by “No Pressure” and “Better” in 2016, and finally her first music videos and EP in 2017, the same year PVRIS took her on their North American tour (along with Canadian artist Lights). In 2018 she self-released her debut album, Past Lives and Paychecks, and in 2019 scored a few short films and continued to tour, supporting Bad Bad Hats, Eve 6, MitiS, and co-headling with PRXZM and Cannons. A frequent collaborator, she has written and provided vocals for Battle Tapes, Getter, MitiS and produces and engineers other artists between tours. She supported Australian artist Donny Benét at the top of 2020 and will be headlining a US run later this year in support of her sophomore album You Don’t Have To Go Home But You Can’t Stay Here.

Her first album was about love and money. This one is about booze, family and night-time. The title, You Don’t Have To Go Home But You Can’t Stay Here, comes from what they say after last call at a bar or a party, at the end of the night. Party Nails confides, "I was drinking a lot, and eventually quit, so a lot of the lyrics are about a state of inebriation and time of night, the positive, negative and in between. Other songs touch more on feeling connected or disconnected from people you love. There is a lot of masking of the truth going on in the world today, and this permeated my music during the making of the album." The majority of the album is co-produced with Benjamin Greenspan and mixed by Ryan Nasci, while the first single "Take Me Somewhere" was a collaboration with producer Summer Heart.

Party Nails' sophomore album You Don’t Have To Go Home But You Can’t Stay Here is currently available worldwide.
