“So deep, penetrating into the very depths of our subconsciousness, the Empty Measures voice pulls a bouquet of experiences onto the surface of each of us. Genuine feelings.”

“Глубокий, проникающий в самые недры нашего подсознания голос Empty Measures вытаскивает на поверхность каждого из нас букет переживаний. Неподдельные чувства.”

Acoustic piano. Cello. Male vocals. Starts out rubato rhythm. Moves to click when cello enters. Professionally recorded and mixed/mastered but very stripped down.

Lyrics:

I’ve been there
that belt looked good
been on that balcony
where you stood
sat underneath the door
wondering what it’s all for
hanging by a thread
pushed right to the edge
but I’m still here
and you ask me how much pain
you ask me how much pain it takes
you ask me how much pain it takes to leave
and I don’t know
cos I’m still here

and I’m still here
but I’ve been with you before
wondering what it’s all for
stood on that balcony
sat underneath the door
stepped out on the ledge
pushed right to the edge
been scared half to death
but I’m still here
and I’ve been in that seat with you before
and I’ve been at the end of a rope
one thing that keeps me going everyday
is holding on to Hope
and you ask me how much pain
you ask me how much pain it takes
you ask me how much pain it takes to leave
and I don’t know
cos I’m still here..

Madison Beer – BOYSHIT (Official Lyric Video) (Video)

Categories: Features, Pop, Pop Features, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“Madison is back with a new surprise; “Boyshit” is a meaningful song, expressing interesting ideas too. Also fast, strongly emotional and prototypic in a way that immediately sticks out from the ordinary music creations. We are pretty sure that it’s gonna be viral very soon.”

-Nagamag.com

Today sees Madison Beer release her latest single “BOYSHIT” via Epic Records. With the release comes Madison’s Vevo LIFT campaign, which features a performance of the single, along with “Selfish”, her fastest ever US certified gold record, and a short film on the artist titled “Becoming”. “BOYSHIT” is taken from Madison’s forthcoming debut album, Life Support, out 26th February 2021.

“’BOYSHIT’ is one of the last songs I recorded for my album, and it was just kind of a build up after this really long year.” says Madison. “It’s simply about knowing your worth and when to leave a situation. With the play on “bullshit” I figured it was the perfect time to use the age old saying about an immature or disrespectful boyfriend, ‘he’s not a man, he’s a boy,’ but it then flourished into more. This isn’t as simple as a childish man, it’s deeper than that. Anyone can behave in a “BOYSHIT” manner and I think there’s something to be said about knowing when enough is enough and when you’re truly just feeding into nonsense, I think a lot of that is knowing your worth. This song is meant to uplift and inspire people, of all genders, to know when it’s time to stop putting up with boyshit.”

“BOYSHIT” is the latest single from Madison’s highly anticipated debut album, Life Support, out 26th February 2021. The album is a strong personal and artistic statement that sees Madison where she thrives – commanding creative control through writing her own songs, producing and creating her own visuals. Life Support features previous releases “Good In Goodbye”, “Selfish”, “Stained Glass” and “Baby” which have a combined total stream count of over 442 million. Globally, Madison has nearly 3 billion streams across her catalogue.

“Writing songs is like therapy for me.” says Madison. “That’s why this album is called Life Support. It helped me get rid of the darkness and see the light. My inspirations sonically are really diverse. I guess I’m not an easy artist to pigeonhole, and a lot of these songs are like nothing I’ve ever attempted before. All of me is laid bare on this album; it’s been a really fulfilling experience to create something that feels so true to myself. I’m grateful to my fans who have stuck by me since the beginning. Life Support has been a long time coming, and I’m just so excited for them to see what I’ve been working on.”

Vevo has tapped Madison for their coveted LIFT campaign, out now. The 3-part series features a performance of “BOYSHIT” and “Selfish” alongside a short film titled “Becoming”. The campaign takes viewers further into the mind of the artist with striking visuals and gripping storytelling, and further cements Madison as an artist to watch for 2021. Vevo LIFT alumni include Billie Eilish, Halsey, Jorja Smith, and SZA.

Prior to signing with Epic Records late last year, Madison Beer achieved unprecedented success as an independent artist with her partner First Access Entertainment, having sold over 1 million records in the UK alone. Her debut EP As She Pleases made her the first independent female solo artist to break into the Top 20 radio charts, after having debuted in the Top 5 on iTunes in 18 countries and in the Top 10 in 42 countries worldwide. Following the release of As She Pleases Madison featured on Platinum Certified UK Top 10 hit “All Day and Night” by Europa and “Pop/Stars” by K/DA which topped Billboard’s world digital song sales chart. She’s attracted the endorsement of Time, NME, Complex, The Guardian, Billboard who named her among its coveted “21 Under 21” list and Rolling Stone who hailed her as a “rising pop star”.

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Tessa Kaye:
People most often describe my musical style as R&B, electronic, indie pop.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Tessa Kaye:
I've always had a love and strong passion for music and singing! I've been singing ever since I could talk. I released my first single "Fool's Gold" in January 2020 and it was added to Spotify's New Music Friday U.S. and many other NMF's around the world which was super exciting! Now I've just put out my second single "You Know Who You Are andI hHate You." This song is so close to my heart and I hope that my listeners feel that and resonate with the track. I'm so stoked for next year and everything I'll be releasing then, so look forward to much more music from me!

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Tessa Kaye:
One of my earliest memories of really loving and connecting to music is my little sister and I singing and dancing to Motown. My parents played it all the time and I was always doing little concerts in my house for my family haha. There isn't a single moment I can remember where I wasn't in love with music, so I know this is just something that's always been inside me.

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

Tessa Kaye:

“Carefully composed melodies with lyrics from an experienced singer. Townsend drives you up to his point of view in an expressive way of singing. Just sit back and relax!”

-Nagamag.com

This song is about the post-breakup-hookups that usually happen for a few months after a relationship ends. It's hard to just stop seeing each other completely and usually both parties play a role in instigating. In my case, even though both of us were guilty of texting each other the "come over" text, I couldn't help but feel responsible.

“The first impression you receive with Lainey Dionne on her new single Skin, is the quality and softness of both vocal and music/groove layering. Sensual, elegant and memorable with chorus of saying -Skin- giving you goosebumps, a song where harmonies and qualities are abundant. ”

Skin is about what it feels like to be in a toxic relationship. You are depressed and hiding it, becoming numb, and then being in denial about how toxic this is and you don’t know how to get out.

Her band toured the East Coast in the summer of 2017 debuting new material along with her EP. Originally from Smithfield, RI, she has been studying the piano since the age of six, and along the way, has picked up several other instruments including violin, ukulele, harmonica, mandolin, dulcimer, cajon, and guitar. Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Bjorn Rydhog:
Pop

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Bjorn Rydhog:
I started to write songs when I was 7 years old. Now I'm a multi-instrumentalist playing most instruments on my records, which have gained a lot of positive attention from many music blogs and been played extensively on the Swedish and international radio.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Bjorn Rydhog:
As a boy I loved cheesy ballads, song compilations from the 1960s and the Eurovision Song Contest. The soundtrack of my childhood was made up of songs like Johnny Logan 'Hold me now', Percy Sledge 'When a man loves a woman' and Steve Wonder 'I just called to say I love you'. The Beatles 'the Blue Album' also made a long lasting impression.

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

Few words about your musical background and career?

Myyora:
For my musical background i have always sung, since i was a little girl, whether it was at home by myself or with my cousins, or for school talent shows, or being in a band in university. The pursuit of my musical career began 2 years ago but it's only getting started now after only just releasing my first single in July.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Myyora:
I've always had a connection to music but i would have to say the biggest and final push that's lead me here was being in a band in my first year university. It was my real first experience with being on stage and feel that connection with people who love music as much as you do.

Helena Mayer – misunderstood (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Features, Pop, Pop Features, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“An emotional message to each of us from Helena Mayer. Who are we? and why do we misunderstand each other? Delicate rhythms with enveloping vocals and emotional piano are all you need for a warm evening and to understand easier each other.”

“Эмоциональное послание каждому из нас от Helena Mayer. Кто мы, и почему мы так не правильно понимаем друг друга? Нежные ритмы с обволакивающим вокалом и эмоциональным фортепьяно, это все что нужно для теплого вечера и что бы понять друг друга.”

-Nagamag.com

Helena Mayer is a singer and songwriter born in Thousand Oaks, California. From an early age, Helena has had a passion for music, and now at 21, she has begun releasing lyrically emotional energetic pop & R&B influenced music. Her deeply introspective, sometime brooding, and soulful lyrics represent a dichotomy when paired with the dance oriented, electronic insturmentation. Mayer takes her influence from artists like Lauv, Khalid, Julia Michaels, and Billie Elliss.

While she planned to begin releasing in early 2019, she released her single in November of 2018 in response to the Borderline shooting and fires that overtook her hometown earlier that month. Since then, she has been convicted to write music that makes the world better.
