Two Late To The Party – Love After The Pain

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“Things are getting serious in the world of Folk rock as this single communicates its important message. The singing duo underlines the importance of love, which comes after we overcome many problems or even painful situations. Soothing work, with the positive spirit we always need to go on in this life.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist said about this song:

"Our new track, “Love After The Pain” is an up-tempo duet about being in the moment and the realization that no matter the challenges we face that on the other side there is always love.

What inspired us when we were writing “Love After The Pain” was the realization that to get to those moments of joy in our life we tend to have to go through some challenges and learn some things along the way to get there, and that it’s not always easy but it’s always worth it. We wanted this song to convey hope, that at the end of it all, there is always a light at the end.

Originally “Love After The Pain” was a much slower song but once we got in the studio it felt like it was missing something, that music didn’t match the story of hope. So we upped the tempo and it really catched the vibe we wanted, especially the ending which we viewed as this euphoric moment of just getting past the pain to the love.

One fun aspect of recording this song was us revisiting our junior high school band days and getting out our old trombone and flute out to build out a bit of horn section, we were both rusty but had a blast reconnecting with our musical past and bringing it into the present, overall this song allowed us to really kick loose and have some fun."

SAM TOMPKINS – My Brother

Categories: Features, Pop, Pop Features, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“The quickly rising Sam Tompkins drops his new single and sings in a mood of self-confidence. His lyrics express admiration and respect about loved family persons and especially his brother. The sound is clear and has an emotive character as it’s based on a true story.”

-Nagamag.com

One of the fastest rising British male artists of 2022, Sam Tompkins releases the ‘who do you pray to’ EP alongside emotive visuals for new single ‘My Brother’ today.

With a host of stellar singles already released from the EP; including ‘Whole’, ‘Bloodline’ and ‘Hero’; Sam honed his craft across the collection of 7 tracks revealing his unique voice as a songwriter instilled in the narrative arc of his songs.

New single ‘My Brother’ encapsulates his intimate story telling style, as Sam notes; ‘My Brother is really special to me. I love it so much. The origin of it is actually a sad but lovely story. When I was about 18, we lost our Nana and at the funeral we had to read the eulogy. I got about 6 words in before being in floods of tears, my brother read the rest and was so strong. Flash forward to last year when my Papa (Grandpa) passed away and I decided to do the eulogy. Sadly because of covid my brother couldn’t make it as he was working away in Canada. This time I got the whole way through it and I remember getting the text from my brother who watched it through a live stream that I smashed it and I felt so proud because the only way I was able to do it was knowing I was the exact age my brother had stepped up and been brave 5 years prior.”

Sam Tompkins is a force to be reckoned with; following his own critically acclaimed singles, the TikTok trending collaboration with Jnr Choi ‘To The Moon’; a string of viral videos including impressive covers shared via TikTok and grass-roots touring; he has garnered over 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify and amassed a colossal online audience which has grown exponentially over the past year.

The release of this debut body of work is set to cement Sam’s status as one of the year’s most exciting new artists. His music has already been praised by the likes of MTV, Clash, BBC, and Notion; played across BBC Radio 1 by Jack Saunders, Scott Mills, Clara Amfo, Ricky, Melvin and Charlie, and featured on flagship Spotify editorial playlists.

Matching pop touches to a classic feel, he’s often compared to SamFender’s anthemic truth-seeking or Tom Walker’s revelatory autobiography. Yet Sam’s work stands alone and is already scaling mountainous heights. His music digs deep, explores the key topics in his life and communicates emotions we all feel, but sometimes can’t put into words.

Elton John and Shawn Mendes are fans, pop phenomenon Bebe Rexha has co-signed his work, while Justin Bieber is a prominent supporter. The two recently hung out in LA, while a video of Justin singing Sam’s single ‘Whole’ has gained more than 2 million views –and counting. Closer to home, JayKae jumped onstage on Sam’s last tour, and renowned UK artists Krept & Konan, Chip and Clean Bandit are fans.

Such a broad spread of support simply represents his audience as a whole; there’s a literal army of TikTok followers moving alongside him, with Sam amassing almost a half million followers on Instagram –that’s more than some very established artists. In fact, he already has more Instagram followers than some winners at the BRITs last year.

Selling out every venue he puts his name against, Sam’s live prowess stretches across Europe. Next month Sam will be one of the first UK artists to tour Europe in a bus since the pandemic hit as he heads out on a mammoth European tour, containing a packed out Kentish Town Forum date on the 8th April.

From his humble beginnings busking on the streets of Brighton, EP‘who do you pray to?’ is set to continue Sam’s momentum and rise on the international pop stage.

John Adams – Changes

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“When considerable changes happen in our lives, we may find ourselves inside a storm of various feelings. John Adams shares his experiences of becoming a father, via this very personal song. Sophisticated Acoustic sound and lyrics of pure love, which won't leave you unaffected.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist said about this song:

" 'Changes' is a particularly special song to me. I wrote this one on the evening my twins were born. I'd spent the whole pregnancy petrified about becoming a dad but the moment we finally met all my negative thoughts were pushed out, as if there was no space left. I was completely filled with love.

I wanted to make the production fit the sentiment; I used the heartbeat from our ultrasound as the foundations of the song and the backing vocals are done by my wife."

Beks – Make Believe (Feat. Lucy Neville)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“The impressive appearance of "Beks" and "Lucy Nevile" in this Electro Pop ballad left us speechless. The single starts quite smoothly and gradually builds up its sound into something more dynamic. Close attention has been given in the concept too, which is clearly visible on its clip.”

-Nagamag.com

Rising queer pop-star Beks has returned following her #3 iTunes charting single ‘Devoted’, with multi-million streamed artist and influencer Lucy Neville for the dreamy electronic pop ballad ‘Make Believe’. Co-writing their experiences with losing who they thought to be the ‘love of their lives’, the ethereally penned track produced by Jim Elliot captures a raw emotional vulnerability in Beks’ artistry.

Introduced at an APRA event in 2018 where Beks was a guest speaker and Lucy had just amassed 10 million streams of her Crowded House cover ‘Fall At Your Feet’ the songwriters became instant friends. For the following years they supported each as they simultaneously endured traumatic break-ups, sharing books and tips on recovery. Finally, in 2020, the pair sat down in Beks’ bedroom studio in Sydney with a bottle of wine, opened up Abelton and poured out ‘Make Believe’.

Having been a huge fan of UK producer Jim Eliot’s work on Ellie Goulding and E^ST tracks, Beks sent Jim the song for which he produced an ethereal pop landscape to support their heart-wrenching lyrics. The song was then mixed by Lee House and the UK, with further engineering by Magnus Murphy in Aus. The final mix feels reminiscent of Charli XCX ‘Cross You Out’ and Grimes ‘Delete Forever', with its vulnerable, ball-your-eyes out lyrics and crescendoing electronic production.

For the music video, Beks and her cinematographer, Beau Bressington with whom she has collaborated with on all her past visuals, traveled to Newcastle to shoot a pastel fantasy piece to translate the emotion of the single on film. Styled entirely by Beks using pieces she hand sewed and drew from upcycled designer, Kimbra Lou’s eclectic wardrobe, the final film showcases a stunning Australian landscape interpreted as the planet Venus.

“The concept of the film was a story of two heartbroken romantics (myself and Lucy), who find themselves on Venus and are reincarnated into goddesses of love and healing. A story of grief and hope” - Beks

Beks announces global signing to the Wise Music Publishing Group, joining the likes of local artists Donny Benet, Harts, Ngaiire and Josh Pyke, and international artists like Ólafur Arnalds, The Zombies and Fallulah. The full term deal has been in the works for the artist since signing her first single ‘The Thing About Us’ in 2021 when she was first scouted by Wise’s A&R Manager Larry Heath.

Larry Heath said of the signing, “We’re thrilled to have such a talented writer and performer join the Wise Music family. With the music she’s already released as a prime example, and an impressive array of collaborations, Beks will be a name on everyone’s lips in the coming years, releasing music sure to stick with you long after you’ve heard it.”

Beks previous work has seen her become a consistently iTunes charting artist with her song ‘Devoted’ peaking at #3 on the global iTunes Dance Charts and receiving online coverage from NME Australia, Pilerats, Purple Sneakers, Tone Deaf, and Thomas Bleach. Beks has also achieved two consecutive Australian ad campaigns for Channel 7 ‘ Home and Away’ and her music is played in over 8k retail stores Aus wide. Her appearances on IKEA Concert Roulette, Mardi Gras and Pride Festival have prepared her for her upcoming role & performance in Young Rock Season 2.

Dubbed by Teen Vogue USA as the latest breakout artist for her debut EP Lady, Lucy Neville is a 26-year-old singer-songwriter from Sydney, Australia who has made her mark with her self-penned indie-pop sound. To date, Lucy has amassed over 14 million streams. She has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition twice over, including her debut single 'On My Own', which peaked at #13 on the iTunes Electronic chart. In 2017, Lucy’s streaming presence blossomed as she reached 600,000 monthly listeners and featured on playlists and radio stations all over the world with her viral cover of Crowded House’s "Fall At Your Feet". With a sold-out debut headline show and a national tour under her belt, Lucy now mentors other young independent artists in the early stages of their careers and has established a career in media, releasing music on a passion project basis.

Matthew Ryan Jacobs – Grace

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , |

“Atmospheric and dizzying song with beautiful style and exceptional work from "Matthew Ryan Jacobs". The music takes you to a temple on the edge of the mountains where the midday sun rises. Its powerful guitar riffs and vocals will cause you an adrenaline rush.”

“Атмосферная и головокружительная песня, красивая музыкальная стилистика исполнителя и исключительная харизма. Музыка отправляет вас в храм, стоящий на краю гор, где восходит полуденное солнце. Мощные гитарные риффы и вокал вызывают выброс адреналина в кровь!”

-Nagamag.com

“”Grace” was once again recorded with Ben Kempel, usually I send him a demo version and then we go through and add our parts. I’ve typically played most of the guitars and Ben took care of the drums, bass, piano…but for this one the playing is all mostly done by Ben. We have a good relationship that way, whoever’s parts end up working better for the song is what is kept. This was one of those songs that I wrote in what seemed like 10 minutes. Sent it to Ben, he put the music together, I came by and sang it, and done!” – Matthew Ryan Jacobs

TIMEBELLE -`96

Categories: Features, Pop, Pop Features, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , , |

“”96″ tells the story of a child who reaches maturity and cannot find his place in this big, scary world. The gentle, sensual voice of the singer in combination with the beautiful piano melody and rhythm, evoke the most genuine feelings and thoughts.”

“Песня повествует историю ребенка, который достигает зрелости и не может найти своё место в этом большом, страшном мире. Нежный, такой чувственный голос вокалистки, красивая мелодия пиано и ритм вызывают самые искренние, неподдельные чувства и эмоции.”

-Nagamag.com

After a pandemic that severely hit the artists, keeping them away from the stage, the song ‘96, written by Runa and produced by Andy Platon, is the result of a heavy state of pain caused by the war between Russia and Ukraine.

https://www.instagram.com/timebelle/

“’96 tells the story of a child who reaches maturity and fails to find his place in this big, scary world. It is a foreign world to him, full of rules and pressure that force him to deny his true personality and to embrace superficial, petty, material values that have nothing to do with him.

‘96 is not a year chosen randomly, it is the year in which Ukraine gave up the last nuclear warhead in exchange for Russia’s promise of never attacking Ukraine. The betrayed adult, who now lives in the real world, where people are constantly hurting and betraying each other, wants to go back in time to correct this mistake made in ’96, which today created this apocalyptic scenario, “says Runa.

The video, made by Leonid Cojocaru, follows the same narrative thread, of a world that has come to an end, destroyed by human nature, which sometimes can have such a harmful dimension.

The filming took place in Chisinau, in a setting that mimics a state of conflict very well, more precisely in an abandoned factory and a deserted field, to which were added apocalyptic images, processed through graphics.

“Besides the heavy and dark atmosphere, we froze as usual from the cold, which became very normal for us, if we think that in another video I had to film in a lake that did not have a temperature higher than 7 degrees. I hope you like what came out, listen to the song and buy it, it is a simple way to help those affected by war from the comfort of your home. ”

Timebelle believes that music heals, and through the new single – “’96” – they want to heal souls, but also to bring their financial support to those who had to leave their homes, their lives and everything behind.

They have many memories of Kyiv, the city where they sang for the whole world, when they represented Switzerland at Eurovision in 2017, with the song “Apollo”, which went viral in Asia, garnered tens of millions of views on YouTube and is still enjoying success abroad. Now Kyiv, that beautiful city with hospitable people, is struggling to survive.

All revenue from the song ’96 ‘will be donated to the refugees in Ukraine.
