“Волны, такие безмятежные, убаюкивающие своей глубиной. От края до края, от заката и до самого рассвета мы растворяемся в небытие наших с тобой горизонтов.”

Lo Boii – Maybe (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“The - Lo Boii - return with their new soulful pop single - Maybe - . Tickling sound design of beautiful minimal layers that are playign with our ear senses, light harmonies and a good mood vibe which erupted by a heartwarming vocal performance. Not just - Maybe - certainly we enjoyed this into max! Essential! ”

-Nagamag.com

Lo Boii's second single, off the duo's upcoming sophomore EP. Their previous single, Save Us, was featured on Spotify's Fresh Finds. They dig further into their 80s influences, paired with modern neo-soul vocals and production.

"When testing a relationship's limits goes wrong, you can get left in limbo, relationship purgatory, the 'Maybe'... maybe the love is strong enough to persevere... maybe not. Even if you're a little melancholy and lost in love, the vibe is right for you to dance to in the living room."

With instrumentally brilliant production from Aalias —co-producer of the Grammy-winning Eminem and Rihanna single "The Monster" —and shining falsetto runs from Corey Latif —a two-time Grammy-nominated songwriter who’s written for Usher, Musiq Soulchild, Faith Evans, and more— Lo Boii is a project made with soul from the ground up.

Lo Boii’s previously released singles “Floor Seats” and “Sweeter,” which blend faithful nods to the pair's influences with a distinct, surprising new flavor. Tracks like “Chakra” shine a light on the pair’s blend of old-school funk licks and soulful vocal runs with a wholly original take on modern electronica. Layered sheets of sound combine with an underlying steadiness to form a masterfully crafted mosaic, and gems like their electrofunk cover of “She Drives Me Crazy” by Fine Young Cannibals put Latif’s falsetto chops on full display.

Harvee – Take It Back (Kevin McKay Extended Edit) [Glasgow Underground] – YouTube (Video)

Categories: Features, House, House Features, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“Prepare to dive into the world of classic House with Harvee. “Take It Back” recalls pleasant memories from the past and you simply cannot resist moving in its own rythm. Reccomented for your daily playlist.”

-Nagamag.com

Prodigious house music producer, Harvee, unleashes his latest single, ‘Take It Back’ on Glasgow Underground on 11th December. Label founder, Kevin McKay, who features on the release with an extended edit, made the Essex-born and bred youngster, the youngest ever artist to appear on Glasgow Underground at just 18 years old. Harvee’s future looks bright with releases on labels such as Fogbank, Juiced, Souluxe, and Play & Tonic, a spin from The Shapeshifters, and six Traxsource ‘Weekend Weapons’. Harvee’s uplifting house grooves show talent beyond his years and underline his status as a serious one to watch in 2021. Stream / download here: https://gu.lnk.to/TakeItBack.

Harvee, or Harvey Burry as he’s known to his mates, only celebrated his 18th birthday in August. Laying down his sticks as a drummer, some three years ago, Harvee turned his hand to production and released his first slew of singles in July 2020 on the likes of Fogbank, where he made a big impact with ‘For Fun’, which was dropped by The Shapeshifters at a sit-down, socially distanced at POW Brixton; the first time he’d ever heard his track in a club! This was a momentous occasion for the rising talent who had to Shazam it to prove to his mates that he wasn’t making it up!

Born into a musical family, Harvee was introduced to house music by his father, who himself released a few choice tracks back in the day as Back 2 Front. Says Harvee, “I’ve always been around music with my sister DJing in clubs in Ibiza and my Dad always loving house music. Hearing it played constantly is really what got me interested. I first started on Garage Band, which then lead to Logic around three years ago.”

Bitten by the bug, Harvee has upped his game from bedroom producer to a remarkable artist, crafting a steady stream of releases in 2020 with no fewer than six ‘Weekend Weapons’ on Traxsoure, including his remix of Makito’s ‘Purpose’ and ‘Tell Me’, both of which came on Souluxe Records.

His first single for Glasgow Underground, ‘Take It Back’, is an absolute gem with a clever use of disco samples and inspired vocals, helped along with some arrangement and production expertise from Kevin McKay. It cleverly straddles the divide between house and disco, with big strings soaring to the heavens while a funky bassline rolls down low. The warm drums are big hearted, and the vocal sample delivers emotion and feelgood vibes.

Glasgow Underground has a long running reputation for developing brand new and exciting talents, alongside working with legends of the scene, and this is further proof of that, coming as it does hot on the heels of a big new single from recent signings, Earth n Days. Alongside countless Beatport and Traxsource #1s, regular spots on the BBC Radio 1 shows of Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Danny Howard, and numerous releases with over 1million streams, this label really is an icon of the scene.

What better way to end a breakout year for Harvee than with his biggest single so far on an influential house label that has been making and breaking records since before he was born…

Her promising debut single Talk To Me is a good example of this: a soulful, authentic sound lined with elements of alternative R&B and electro pop.

Born in Amsterdam and raised by parents who are both artists, Noha Saré grew up surrounded by art. From an early age, she and her brother Marius (who is a multi-instrumentalist and composer) started to perform and make music together. Honey Made – Be True (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Jazz, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Honey Made teams up with Tamara Mack for song - Be True - , the #4 anthem of latest new album of Honey Made - Brand New -. Delivering us all the upbeat soulful grooves and vocals needs we have right now is this shady days, infusing us with good energy to step into the changes we want to make for the best of all. ”

-Nagamag.com

Be True is about being true to your authentic self. The approval of others is fleeting while being true to yourself is lasting. Being true means being honest with yourself and others without concern about the approval of others

https://www.instagram.com/honeymadeatx/

Austin’s Honey Made bring back memories of legends like James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, and Earth Wind and Fire with their modern take on slamming primal soul and focus on their R&B roots. Having shared the stage with George Clinton & the Parliament Funkadelic, Sierra Leone Refugee Allstars, The Motet, Lee Fields, Roxy Roca and Flow Tribe, the band has already made quite a name for themselves locally, and are currently planning on rapidly expanding their audience beyond the Austin scene.

Honey Made began performing in 2018 and has become known as one of the best live bands and party bands in town. As one reviewer said; “You can’t help but smile at Honey Made. Its hard not to delight at their athletic musicianship, their infectious hooks, or hairpin turns between the entire canon of funk feels-hard funk, hip hop groves, or James Brown – you name it, they did it. If that was all it was, I’d still call Honey Made a great band, but it’s more than that, it’s their willingness to bring you into the fold makes seeing Honey Made a great time”

Honey Made derives the diversity of sound mentioned above from many influences. These include James Brown, Parliament Funkadelic, Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings and Prince. Honey Made delights in bringing all of these influences into its music.

The band’s EP titled “Couple Few” released in 2020 shares these influences. This EP of five tracks includes influences of funk, rock and soul. The Word is Bond blog states that the self-titled track Honey Made (https://www.thewordisbond.com/top-submissions-ep2-apr-2020/)

“… is rife with all the goodies of the vintage funk-rock and soul jams from yesteryears. The production is super funky and edgy while the vocalists bring that catchy, call and response type performance to the forefront.”

The A&R Factory states that the track “Perfect Getaway” (https://www.anrfactory.com/honey-made-serve-up-sweet-soulful-nostalgia-with-their-latest-single-perfect-getaway/)

“.. contains enough Soul to induce goosebumps from the first few notes in the prelude. As the drippings of soul nostalgia intensify in Perfect Getaway, you’ll find yourself in an effervescently shimmering soundscape where every instrumental in the arrangement exudes fluid expression.”

Now the band has released its first full length record titled “Brand New” in November of 2020 produced by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos. The record is comprised of ten tracks of original music. The title track “Brand New” is about how finding the right person can make all things “Brand New.” It also speaks to the emergence of Honey Made new music and a new direction. “Chicken Sweats” is about one of the band’s favorite foods but also let’s the listener know that there is more going on here. “Be True” is a more of traditional soul sound. Then there is funky instrumental “Southern Fried Funk” and the feel good track “So Good.”

In a review of the album Take Effect Reviews states ( https://takeeffectreviews.com/november-2020-1/2020/11/11/honey-made):

“ An album that parallels the energy of George Clinton And Parliament Funkadelic, but also possesses the capacity for slow burning timelessness, too, Brand New is an excellent starting point for a band we will all be hearing much more about in the future.”

Honey Made band members include: Willie Barnes, Vocals; Donald Ford Jr., vocals; Brian Cokeley, Keys; Lee Braverman, Bass; Chris Barnes, Drums & Vocals; Mark Saldana, Percussion; Dustin Hunter, Tenor Saxophone & Baritone Saxophone; Joseph Marrow, Trumpet & Flugelhorn; and Donald McDaniel, Trombone.

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Ryan Flynn:
The genres that better describe the music style would be Synth Pop, Indie Pop, and Indie Electronic.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Ryan Flynn:
Originally begun as an experimental side project while in film school, ryan flynn has since evolved into a perpetual orb-praising space pop venture. It was in Rochester, NY that ryan flynn established his signature funky synth pop sound, solidified by the release of an eponymous EP in 2019 with widespread praise from the local community.
In 2020, ryan flynn took to the road with his Moog synthesizer, writing and performing improvisational pieces inspired by the scenery across the country.

Currently, ryan flynn is focusing on writing and releasing new tunes such as "Seems Like Yesterday," "Pressure," and "Outside" alongside creating tasteful visuals to accompany the releases.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Ryan Flynn:
My first connection to music was certainly through my parents love for music. I was consistently surrounded by great music and was fortunate to have a piano in our home. No one else could play, but I'm pretty sure it was just there when we bought our house on Long Island. I would fool around and eventually grew to love the instrument! Once high school hit, I found myself writing and performing in a metal band with some great friends. I'd say with all of those things coming together, this was my pathway into music.

Nagamag:
Do you have any plans to follow the release of the latest single, "Outside?"

Ryan Flynn:
Yes! We have a music video for "Outside" coming out December 16th. For the music video, I've combined and edited the works of two amazing artists together; Micah Buzan, who does the beautiful animation, and Taryn Elliot, who does the amazing landscape filmography. The combination of the two really vibes with the the track and I can't wait for people to connect the visuals with the track!

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

Ryan Flynn:
Steely Dan "Hey Nineteen"

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which track from a similar artist you admire?

Ryan Flynn:
Tame Impala Let It Happen

Madison Beer – BOYSHIT (Official Lyric Video) (Video)

Categories: Features, Pop, Pop Features, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“Madison is back with a new surprise; “Boyshit” is a meaningful song, expressing interesting ideas too. Also fast, strongly emotional and prototypic in a way that immediately sticks out from the ordinary music creations. We are pretty sure that it’s gonna be viral very soon.”

-Nagamag.com

Today sees Madison Beer release her latest single “BOYSHIT” via Epic Records. With the release comes Madison’s Vevo LIFT campaign, which features a performance of the single, along with “Selfish”, her fastest ever US certified gold record, and a short film on the artist titled “Becoming”. “BOYSHIT” is taken from Madison’s forthcoming debut album, Life Support, out 26th February 2021.

“’BOYSHIT’ is one of the last songs I recorded for my album, and it was just kind of a build up after this really long year.” says Madison. “It’s simply about knowing your worth and when to leave a situation. With the play on “bullshit” I figured it was the perfect time to use the age old saying about an immature or disrespectful boyfriend, ‘he’s not a man, he’s a boy,’ but it then flourished into more. This isn’t as simple as a childish man, it’s deeper than that. Anyone can behave in a “BOYSHIT” manner and I think there’s something to be said about knowing when enough is enough and when you’re truly just feeding into nonsense, I think a lot of that is knowing your worth. This song is meant to uplift and inspire people, of all genders, to know when it’s time to stop putting up with boyshit.”

“BOYSHIT” is the latest single from Madison’s highly anticipated debut album, Life Support, out 26th February 2021. The album is a strong personal and artistic statement that sees Madison where she thrives – commanding creative control through writing her own songs, producing and creating her own visuals. Life Support features previous releases “Good In Goodbye”, “Selfish”, “Stained Glass” and “Baby” which have a combined total stream count of over 442 million. Globally, Madison has nearly 3 billion streams across her catalogue.

“Writing songs is like therapy for me.” says Madison. “That’s why this album is called Life Support. It helped me get rid of the darkness and see the light. My inspirations sonically are really diverse. I guess I’m not an easy artist to pigeonhole, and a lot of these songs are like nothing I’ve ever attempted before. All of me is laid bare on this album; it’s been a really fulfilling experience to create something that feels so true to myself. I’m grateful to my fans who have stuck by me since the beginning. Life Support has been a long time coming, and I’m just so excited for them to see what I’ve been working on.”

Vevo has tapped Madison for their coveted LIFT campaign, out now. The 3-part series features a performance of “BOYSHIT” and “Selfish” alongside a short film titled “Becoming”. The campaign takes viewers further into the mind of the artist with striking visuals and gripping storytelling, and further cements Madison as an artist to watch for 2021. Vevo LIFT alumni include Billie Eilish, Halsey, Jorja Smith, and SZA.

Prior to signing with Epic Records late last year, Madison Beer achieved unprecedented success as an independent artist with her partner First Access Entertainment, having sold over 1 million records in the UK alone. Her debut EP As She Pleases made her the first independent female solo artist to break into the Top 20 radio charts, after having debuted in the Top 5 on iTunes in 18 countries and in the Top 10 in 42 countries worldwide. Following the release of As She Pleases Madison featured on Platinum Certified UK Top 10 hit “All Day and Night” by Europa and “Pop/Stars” by K/DA which topped Billboard’s world digital song sales chart. She’s attracted the endorsement of Time, NME, Complex, The Guardian, Billboard who named her among its coveted “21 Under 21” list and Rolling Stone who hailed her as a “rising pop star”.
