DJ Bruce Blanchard’s roots lay in African beats and more specifically, Lingala music. During the first lockdown is when he created his first song ‘Sakana’ in collaboration with Enikao productions. ‘Sakana’ means ‘to play’ in Lingala, which directly refers to him starting his career playing as a DJ. He specifically created this song to lift people’s spirits during the Lockdown. Now he has curated a playlist called ” Afro Tech” which focuses on African-style songs, but provides a mixture with tech and house music. The list is for him his current favourite 30 songs which fall under the style of Afro tech. Soon, he will be releasing a new single which will follow the same African base. This song, which is a lounge party song in Lingala, will be focused on moving away from lockdown and restarting our future where we will hopefully meet each other again in the party scene!

Boyfriend Lyric Video – Leah Kate (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“The upcoming Commercial hit has the title “Boyfriend”. Beautiful singing from a beautiful artist. Interesting result, with some kind of affection flowing in the air. Don’t forget to watch her video clip while playing the song on repeat.”

-Nagamag.com

Recently profiled by Rolling Stone for running her own label, Leah Kate is a force to be reckoned with.

The artist recently went viral on both TikTok and Spotify (40 countries) with her banger “Fuck Up The Friendship”, which racked up over 25 million + combined plays without any major label support.

Now sending you Leah Kate’s latest single “Boyfriend” just released. The “it’s too late anthem” has been added to 29 New Music Fridays.

“Boyfriend” is a follow-up to “FUTF” which Kate confides, “is an anthem to empower girls (and guys) to move on and help to not recycle exes who aren’t good for you.” Thanks for your consideration for coverage.

A true definition of a go-getter, the independent rising pop artist practically runs a full-service label for herself out of her bedroom. She is her own manager, creative director, A&R, label head, artist, publicist, marketing strategist, all in one. Her music feels to listeners like the 90s has met the 2020s – bringing a retro electro pop sound that’s passionate, vibey, and brimming with a hopeful future. Her music embodies her “IDGAF” attitude, and her lyrics are relentlessly honest and relatable, while being upbeat, disco, and reflecting 80s elements and influences. Bluntly put, her songs make you want to go out and be a badass. Although Leah’s been singing and writing songs since the age of 12, getting fired from her job (because she spent all of her time in the studio and not really at work) while living in NYC was the push she needed to begin releasing music professionally and full time. With the help of her brother, the two started writing songs in their in-home studio at a super young age. The go-getter she is, Leah, at maybe 14 years old, would email huge producers of major labels of artists she loved, trying to get them to produce her voice memos that she would freestyle. Her songs range in a variety of versatile topics but the one thing they all have in common is that they are very truthful and reflective of her life. “No matter what kind of song I’m releasing, whether it’s a disco dance pop song or just me on guitar, the lyrics have to matter and be very truthful to my life.” – Leah.

A mood fixer packed with all qualities. ”

A song of hope, joy, courage, love and anything else you want to make you feel great amidst life’s trials! —- Takeyce

https://www.instagram.com/_takeyce/

Takeyce, the Jamaican-Canadian singer-songwriter and daughter of Jamaica’s “pioneer of Gospel,”—Claudelle Clarke, has been following in her mother’s footsteps since the age of five. Blending the genres of reggae dancehall, worldbeat, afrobeat, funk, and at times, ska, Takeyce users her deep and soulful voice to captivate her listeners.

Her newest single “Warrior King,” takes the listener into a somewhat mythical world where a woman sings about her “warrior king,” a person the woman relies on and is striving to find their “true soul spirit,” in a world full of distractions. The track is funky with its laidback chorus bassline and Takeyce’s voice shines at the front as she harmonizes with herself and occasionally raps to the beat. Her voice is uplifting and powerful and the production by Dr. Tab gives the illusion that she is singing right in front of the listener.

“It gives a reggae dancehall afro flow; a fantastic way to end such a difficult year and set the vibes for a hopeful and joyful new one,” Takeyce says.

“Warrior King” is part of an upcoming EP in 2021, funded by Factor Canada.

In June 2019 her first independent album, MEN*Tal was released. An eclectic mix of reggae, afro, r&b, the album featured musical production from Jamaica, Nigeria, Poland, USA, and Canada and had Takeyce’s first French song, “Continuer,” featured in the City of Toronto’s seasonal playlist.

Takeyce is also a Factor Canada Juror and a committee member for CKUT 90.3 FM (McGill University) representing the Black Community. She is the Founder and CEO for the Natural Health and Beauty Product Company, Ti’Z Natural.

She is the Founder/DJ/Host of “A Multilingual Affair” Radio Show and Podcast on CKUT, 90.3 FM (McGill University)—a show done in English, French, Spanish, Patois with music played from all over the world and featuring International and local Artists.

Takeyce has performed with legendary reggae artists, Mighty Diamonds, Luciano, and Ed Robinson. When she performs live she is usually backed up by the band The Reggae Funkers. a group of talented professional musicians who have played with top international artists.

Deftick – Defchord (Original Mix) (Video)

Categories: Psytrance, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“Deftick Psydub new delivery. Balanced pattern progression, which guarantee the satisfaction even of the most demanding listener. Characteristic leads, strong pads and airy effects can justify the success of “Defchord”. So raise the volume level and forget everything else for the following seven minutes.”

-Nagamag.com

DEFTICK is a Techno/Electro/Experimental project by Rafael Wiederkehr (Suncollector) and André Huwiler (DJ Dex) from Switzerland. With their combined skills, they drive us through a world of powerful-groovy soundscapes – always very well balanced to activate our mind and feet.

After playing at psytrance parties for more than 20 years and creating more and more songs in the studio that didn’t fit into the concept, they decided to start the side project DEFTICK.

This is where all the songs that have been created over the years find their place.

The result is a sound that doesn’t like to fit into concepts. From Techno over Electro up to Downtempo everything is represented.

Her impressive dexterity as a rapper is not only distinguished through her lyrical content, but also her ability to seamlessly rap over a multitude of different sounds. ‘You Don’t Wanna’ showcases powerful articulation and control, similar to her 2021 debut ‘Cause A Scene’. However, she is also able to demonstrate a soulful conscious rapping style seen in ‘Worst Child’.

Following on from the soulful and more rhythmic method of rapping TrueMendous surprises fans with a sneak peek of ‘Y’, which is teased at the end of the ‘You Don’t Wanna’ music video. The juxtaposition between both tracks exemplifies TrueMendous as an artist and her eclectic sound. Taken straight off the forthcoming album, ‘Y’ steers away from the fast paced levels of ‘You Don’t Wanna’ and sways towards a stripped back sound. Oozing with saxophone riffs, the slow pace is also reflected in the captivating visuals.

Kizz Daniel – Flex (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“Kizz Daniel with his new song Flex, delivers another quality production, a bliss both for ears and eyes. A solid sound production with his soulful vocal performance, floating through sweet groove and melodies and synced with an abundant video clip. A reference in terms of quality afro beats song! Way memorable! ”

-Nagamag.com

Energising our ears with the feel-good anthem ‘Flex’, Nigerian music sensation Kizz Daniel lures us in as he serenades us with his smooth vocals and majestic melodies. The brainchild of both Kizz Daniel and DJ Coublon ‘Flex’ instantaneously lights up the mood as they command a conglomeration of sounds, effortlessly knitting together guitar riffs with bold brass instrumentation to create an uplifting sound.

Confirming the stance he took on his sophomore album – ‘No Bad Songz’, Kizz Daniel does not disappoint with ‘Flex’. An anthem for all who would rather have a good time than hold grudges or get into fistfights, Kizz Daniel asks “se kayawo fun won” which translates in pidgin to “make we spend them money”, which is the anthem of every fun-loving Nigerian and ardent party-goer. Raise one hand in the air, another on your chest or holding your drink and scream, “I just wan flex!”

With Kizz Daniel outdoing himself once again with this afrobeat delight, DJ Coublon rises to the occasion with the accompanying monstrous instrumentation which is further complimented with the brass, saxophone and trumpets. The thumping number is further strengthened by the host paying homage to Afrobeats icon and legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti with the line “Fela lo ni shrine”, a reference to the nightclub which Fela himself used to perform and had now become a Mecca of sorts and host performances of the biggest acts in town.

A pioneer of the modern-day landscape in the Afro-Pop hemisphere Kizz Daniel is an award-winning recording artist, performer and entertainer. The Nigerian native has accumulated millions of streams and video views and is known worldwide for his chart-topping singles such as ‘Mama’, ‘Woju’, ‘Yeba’ and ‘One Ticket’. A label boss to his own record company ‘Fly Boy Inc’ he has released two albums via his label, which includes his recently released project ‘King Of Love’. Aside from his solo musical ventures he has also collaborated with his musical contemporaries such as Davido, Wretch 32, Diplo, Tiwa Savage and Sarkodie.

A key figure in the Afrobeat scene and sailing the flag worldwide, Kizz Daniel merges the old and new school Afrobeat sound in ‘Flex’.
