In new single “Things Changed,” driving guitars meet shades of twinkling alt-pop and indie rock while radiant vocals take center stage. The Sunshine State delivers a message about naïveté and a blissfully reckless youth. As she reconciles with her past and how things could’ve gone, she counts her lucky stars for the way they turned out.

Skyler shares, “‘Things Changed’ is about where I was in my life and where I could have gone. It’s about who I was with and where they ended up.It’s about the different roads you can take and the ones you choose to leave behind.”

Born in Las Vegas, Skyler moved to Los Angeles shortly after graduating high school to pursue a career in music. However, a breast cancer diagnosis put things on hold for a little while. After successfully battling the disease, Skyler’s experience, determination, and gusto became a clear catalyst for her burgeoning career. “[Breast cancer] doesn’t define me,” Stonestreet shared with Ones To Watch. “But now I want to help other people who are going through it. And I want girls to know that they should feel okay in their own skin.”

The Sunshine State feels like a true representation of Skyler as an artist in her own right. The LA-native creates an altered state full of dreamy landscapes and distorted guitars by diving into her roots of live instruments and ambient vocals. “It’s taken me a long time to figure out exactly what I want to do with my music and I feel like this crazy 2020 has actually helped unlock that (but more it’s because of the help of two of my favorite humans. I feel like I have honestly lived a lot of different lives, some that I have never really looked at, or acknowledged. I think I got too good at pretending they didn’t exist, so I felt like writing about them all.”

About: miles ontario

Emiliano Montano is an American producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist. Their pronouns are they/them and he/him. They perform under various pseudonyms, most notably "Infinite Vacation (stylized 'infinite vacation')" and "Miles Ontario (stylized 'miles ontario')."

As Miles Ontario, they particularly focus on 80s-inspired pop music and experimental electronic music, releasing 3 EPs and currently working on an album (release date TBD.)

Emiliano was born in Fresno, California, and identifies as non-binary/genderqueer. They are currently in high school and certain accounts are managed primarily by their parents. They produce, write, and record all of their music on their own, and their work has been described as ghostly and lush in quality.

Emiliano is currently selling merchandise, partially to help save money for college. Their father also has a notable music career in the local scene and has made guest appearances on certain tracks in the past.

Undertow is a vibey breakup song about feeling smothered by a person and needing to let go and move on. It truly takes on the essence of the words, feeling as if one is sucked into the undertow/drowning as a metaphor for how you can feel when you’re with a person that you no longer want to be with.

Their cover of King Harvest's classic song has racked up over 160M streams to date. Now she’s ready to release her next original single “LIMBO”, a song with dark and playful lyrics and a glimpse of humor and sarcasm.

We are in a time when everything is uncertain, and that uncertainty can be felt by every human on earth. The way things “use to be” are far behind us, and there is no telling what the future will bring. This environment has made for the perfect storm of inspiration for many artists, including Reptile Room. In their newest single, “Shadows”, the group laments about the not so subtle changes in their emotional climate. Questioning everything and sure about almost nothing, the track speaks directly to how we cope with changes we didn’t ask for, and circumstances we don’t know how to navigate. “We miss our family, friends, familiarity, but all anyone can do is take this new version of life, one day at a time, and make the best of it. All the world has been brought to the forefront of consciousness, and we are unable to continue running from thoughts or things that we could easily avoid before this shift occurred. Now we are all stuck in a new realm where if we don’t level up and rise above, we will continue to suffer.” The trio discusses the reality of past actions leading us slowly in our present, almost without our knowing until it’s too late. “We have to face the music…and this is what it sounds like.” The chorus really says it all – no matter what path you’ve taken till now, we are all in the same boat together. “This is how we live now. Reptile Room is an electro-pop trio formed in Atlanta in 2017 by Bill Zimmerman and brother and sister Sean and Sami Michelsen.
