David Gale – False Hope (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Jazz, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“A funky start to this clever tune. Its hip with its poetic chemistry. The chorus brings it all in and clears the path for the smooth guitar rifts scattered throughout. It has its own rhythm and takes off like a rocket, yet to be cleared by the funky riffs again. We dig. ”

David began his musical journey in local rhythm and blues bands around Syracuse, New York before joining the extravagant rock- experience, “The Joe Savage Show." The Savage show was a wild experience involving chain saws, pyrotechnics, leopards and pythons. The band always had talented musicians including the late Allen Woody (Allman Bros Band), Steve Davidowski (Dixie Dregs), and violinist, Chris Carmichael. They shared the stage with the likes of BB King, The Tubes, and Asleep at the Wheel. Although David's music is driven by guitar, it's not necessarily guitar music. He is always serving the song, rather than ripping off solos; however, don't expect the same disciplinary approach to live shows. David’s guitar playing is varied and distinct, sometimes described as angular and unusual but always melodic. David is influenced by all genres. However, his songwriting most resembles classic pop-rock artists such as David Bowie, REM, David Bryne, The Byrds, Beatles, Stones, Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, and Brad Roberts. There are often jangly 12-strings, bluezy phrases, jazzy chords, soulful vocals, and rocking passages, a non-commitment to genre with nonstandard story topics.

“Who let that funk in? We did and with open arms. Uplifting groove from a way back era that will never cease to be relevant. If this does not uplift your mood you are slim on options. The quality production is on point, never skipping a beat. ”

Studio 54 pays homage to the days of disco and dancing with a free spirit, under the silver light of a glitter ball.

SōMuch is an Italian retro nūvō band of 5 members, based in Bolzano, northern Italy.
SōMuch was born in 2020 just before the pandemic, with the support of Ralph Rolle, drummer for Nile Rodgers and Chic.
After many years of playing together as a cover band (disco music took over in the band’s repertoire and the influence of the 70s and the 80s became the true guide and direction of the band's sound), the need arose to write their own songs that could have a retro flavor but with a new sound.

How did they meet Ralph Rolle?

November 2017 Roby (vocals) – scrolling through her Instagram feed – came across an advertisement: Ralph Rolle, the drummer for Nile Rodgers and Chic, was giving one-to-one classes in England. Roby decided to get a special Christmas gift for Francesco (drummer).
On the 7th of December 2017, Roby and Francesco flew to Manchester, England. They met Ralph and became friends.
October 19, 2019, magic happens. Roby and be Francesco asked Ralph to listen to a demo of a song written by Andrea G. called, "You gave me love". Ralph was literally thrilled by what he heard and asked if he could produce the song. He offered to fly to Italy to produce the track!
The production of the first two tracks, under Ralph Rolle’s guidance began January 2020. After the completion of production of those tracks, the global pandemic broke out and the realization of the album suffered a 20 month setback.
But the pandemic proved to be a musical positive for SōMuch. Great songs were written during the time at home and Ralph returned to Italy once travel was allowed and produced another three tracks for the band. The first track to be released is Studio 54, a dance floor filler that brings listeners back to the iconic New York nightclub. Studio 54 is now available on all streaming platforms.
You will be given the chance to hear more of the music of SōMuch very soon in an E.P. and you will find music that was born, made and produced from the hearts and souls of a group that believes that spreading love and happiness to the world is an absolute must.

What’s next?
The first EP of SōMuch and more new songs to be recorded and hopefully lots of live music.

Members of the band:
Valentina Salvi - vocals
Andrea Giovannini - guitar
Francesco Carli - drums
Roby Creazzo - vocals
Andrea Belloni - bass

“It’s practically impossible to stand still with this one. The beat pulls you in with a quality fusion of sounds from the American landscape. Nothing lights up a track like a proper horn section and clean vocals from the whole crew. ”

-Nagamag.com

“Be The One Tonight” is a classic party song that is a perfect example of how the LDB sound is evolving. You get the elements of the brass soli and instrumental at the beginning and in the middle of the song we are transformed into a modern “Trap” section of the tune, blending in elements of hip hop into the brass band sound. This song was a true collaboration and many of the artists in the collective offered their talents to the final product.

Dance with U is classic R&B/pop song with a hypnotic funk laced production. Its very catchy melody explains that sometimes you need to dance with a person before getting to know them a little better. Calyco have quickly established a trademark of smooth and slick lead vocals and lush harmonies, and this carries on the tradition. “Excellent musical synthesis with such a warm Nu Jazz style. Pleasant ringtone synthesizer effect, rustling rhythm-section and velvet voices. This advanced composition will accompany most of your evenings!”

“Отличная музыкальная составляющая, чья огромная доля приходится на ламповый и такой тёплый жанр Nu Jazz. Приятная на слух мелодия синтезатора, шуршание ритм-секции, словно осенняя листва под ногами и бархатные голоса вокалисток. Эта композиция украсит любой из ваших вечеров!”

Reminiscent vocal chatter, buttery horns and soulful vocal runs unite to celebrate the abundance of black joy in the midst of an anti-black society. The syncopating “Soul Clap” throughout the song serves as a percussive reminder of the ever-so-present cool and consciousness-raising that is Black life.

Charm the Riot – Supersonic Waves (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Hip-Hop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“This Hip-Hop track has them all. Original old style, clever rhymes and rich background mix of sounds. Are you into this kind of music? If so, hurry up to catch these "Supersonic Waves". One more dynamite for your ears.”

-Nagamag.com

Musically, the track sports a funk bass line that coincides with the idea of waviness and chill excursions. Lyrically, the message is meant to inspire; clean, honest, determined. Vocally, it's hunger, it's vulnerability, it's victory, wrapped in satin and sauce. A "feel good" song to lose yourself to.

Fable – Guilt Of The Act (Lyric Video)

Categories: Jazz, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“”Fable” is preparing something strong and here’s a taste of what is going to come soon. Electro Pop single with funky chorus and fast up and downs. Real gem for those who seek for the unexpected in music.”

-Nagamag.com

Much heralded singer-songwriter, Fable today releases her brand new single, ‘Guilt Of The Act’ via Naim Records. The track is the latest offering from her forthcoming debut album, ‘Shame’ and has been locked in for a pre-release daytime premiere on 6Music, following in the wake of the trip hop-infused singles ‘Orbiting’ and ‘Womb’, which drew praise from the likes of 6Music, The Independent, NME and many more.

Interweaving between funk-pop and sun-soaked rock, Guilt Of The Act is topped by Fable’s signature vocal. The catchy chorus, “Can’t walk in these shoes I’m giving them back” sounds like the dancefloor filler of 2021 we’ve been waiting for. In Fable’s own words, “Guilt of the Act, is so immediate and sharp. I’ve cut off all my frills, which has resulted in what I would call ‘Danger Pop’”.

“The song itself is about voting with your ethics when being represented – about not taking the path of least resistance because of financial incentives.”
