"Escape" was the first song I crafted back home in Malmö after five inspiring months in India together with my girlfriend. One of the insights that really hit me on the journey, was how unknowingly attached to my thoughts and culture I had been, and in some ways, still am. Aperol is a tribute to being unapologetically yourself even when your world is falling apart. I wrote this song while feeling very abandoned at the beginning of the pandemic. I was going through a rough breakup and had unexpectedly ended up quarantining alone in a foreign country, which gave me a lot of time to think about what it means to love someone, and what it means to stand your ground in the face of heartbreak. I remember walking home from the grocery store one night and being stopped by a couple who had spotted a line of strange lights in the sky. It was surreal, just standing there with two strangers and staring up at the sky in silence, wondering if the world was about to end and realizing it wouldn’t surprise me at all. The guy had his arms wrapped around his girlfriend as if he wanted to be as close to her as possible, just in case. Turns it was only some satellites, but in that moment it hit me, “yes, I deserve to be with someone who would stay by my side for the end of the world.” I think having this sense of self advocacy makes it easier to embrace the absurdity of your pain when things get bad. It’s kind of like looking in the mirror and saying “I see you, and you are absolutely ridiculous, but I love you anyway.”

Emina Sonnad is an American singer-songwriter who stumbled upon her musical identity after unexpectedly losing her job teaching English in Madrid. In an effort to find her place in an unfamiliar city, she attended her first open stage night at Sala Alive. Her soft, melancholic voice cut through the chaos of the bar, captivating the crowd, and she was quickly swept away by the vibrancy of the Spanish music scene. Mentored by a tight-knit community of indie musicians, Emina spent the year songwriting, performing in small venues and recording her first single, “Pretending to See Stars,” a dark, introspective ballad self released in 2018. The song’s distinctively wistful vocals caught the attention of Germany’s emerging deep house artist Pretty Pink, who invited Emina to co-write and feature on her next project. The resulting collaboration, “Overrated” was released through Found Frequencies and streamed by millions, bringing Emina to Berlin with a newly acquired taste for electronic music and an unapologetic desire to grow as an artist. Words have never spoken as much truth for Drew William, a fairly new singer-songwriter that has a special talent of conveying cathartic emotion in every one of his tracks.

Taking this notion to heart, the opening track of William’s "Room" EP “Moonlight,” begins with the roar of an engine and an upbeat chord progression that quickly grabs the listener. Soon after William sings about finding a place away from all the noise of the world.

“That moment where everything feels like it’s on the back burner; wheels off the ground, floating toward that big white moon, all the world growing quiet behind,” William says.

The song is a feel-good anthem that offers lyrical content that is just reflective enough to feel raw and personal—the perfect opener to “Room.”

Next comes “Heal” another reflective tune about learning the lesson that healing comes in strange ways. The song quietly makes its appearance with a tasty finger-picked riff, having just the right amount of guitar effects to make the instrumentation seem all-encompassing, but intimate.

To end is “Man Makes His Borders,” a track that sounds like an indie-pop Bob Dylan—featuring a beautiful harmonica and melody that bleeds feeling with its Americana folk flare. William muses about railroad tracks, fame—an aspect that William knows all too well from his CFL background—and the illusions of everyday life. It’s probably William’s most personal track to date and it and leaves you wanting more.

Drew William also known in the CFL Football world by his full name, Drew Wolitarsky, dived headfirst into music after his football career as a wide receiver for the Winnipeg Bluebombers was put on hold due to COVID-19.

While he was playing football, Drew played in restaurants and coffee shops—events that may seem unreal nowadays. He has been writing his entire life and with his newfound love for music, his creations have taken on a livelier body.

HENRIETTE lights up the dark season with three new emotional Country Pop singles

With her Country Pop, which can be quiet as a breeze and fiery as the sun, HENRIETTE managed to make a mark directly in the scene. After her debut single “Dream Boy” went on rotation in countless countries on three continents, the vocalist up the ante with her singles “Lighthouse” and “Crash Like This” and finally made a more than successful start with her self-titled debut EP. David knew that he was terminally ill and felt the need to farewell
and say his final words.

This song is dedicated to all the people who exist on planet earth and
therefore comes the name : “To All Who’s Out There”.

Furthermore, he asked from his twin brother Jody that the lyrics
from the first verse of the song would be engraved on his gravestone
and so it was.

The animation for the music video was created by Anastasia Miasnikova
as it brings to life the paintings David created while staying at the hospital
prior to his death.

This is his voice and those are his final words.
