POLUN returns with a feature from singer/songwriter Anthony Arthur on uplifting single Over.

Having started off as a classically trained pianist obsessed with west-coast hip hop, Toronto-based POLUN (寶麟) sets himself apart with a sonic style rooted in versatility.

Under the producer/songwriter moniker Terence “TEE” Lam, he made his industry debut producing the 2014 Juno award-winning R&B/Soul record of the year, “Can’t Choose” by JRDN. Following that, he co-wrote on two Billboard Hot 100 hits—triple-platinum singles “Here” by Alessia Cara and “Too Good” by Drake ft Rihanna. Adept at jumping into any genre, TEE crossed over to produce for a few of K-pop’s biggest acts (EXO, Suho, D.O.) and wrote on songs for major electronic artists (Adventure Club, DVBBS, Kaskade x Meghan Trainor).

Most recently, his skilled production earned him credit on “U Should” by 2021 Best New Artist Grammy nominee CHIKA and he also co-produced and wrote the latest Bella Poarch single “Living Hell”.

Now, POLUN is ready to give the world more with “Trillium” – the debut EP inspired by his life’s journey. Creating an infectious sound that infuses unique pop melodies with emotionally charged beats, “Trillium” is an intimate soundscape featuring some of POLUN’s favourite collaborators.

From stealing the spotlight to stealing your girl, New Zealand breakthrough producer, singer and songwriter Estella Dawn continues the climb, with her sophisticated and catchy new single.

Los Angeles singer-songwriter Hunter Daily is making her official debut with a brand new single entitled “Die In LA,” the first in a series of singles that will arrive in the next few months via Flush Records. Alongside Executive Producer Jenna Andrews (the hitmaker behind BTS’ “Butter” and “Dynamite,” in addition to Benee’s “Supalonley”), Daily spearheads music that encompasses the romance, heartbreak, and complexity of her hometown.

On her debut single, Hunter wrote:

“‘Die In LA’ is about being from LA and never feeling like I can leave or see other places because of the industry I’ve chosen. It’s juxtaposition of hating LA and the scene and not feeling like I fit in, but its also where I come from; I love LA just the same. I don’t want it to be the only thing I ever experienced at the end of the day. Making your first music video can very much be an intimidating process. I had to learn to go with the flow and accept the imperfections of the process. I loved collaborating with the director, Gus Black, having my friends dance in the background of one of the scenes, driving around the city in a vintage convertible, freezing my butt off, and jumping in pools time and time again for each take… all of that contributed to bringing out the spirit of the LA that I grew up in.”

For fans of Chvrches, St Lucia, Foxes and more, Winter Gardens’ new single ‘Crystallise’ combines bubbling, transcendental synths and locomotive disco beats. Taking inspiration from some of the more avant-garde artists of the 1980’s, the track looks to create something not heard before but yet slightly familiar — a forward look into the future of the past.

Crystallise is the latest in a series of critically acclaimed singles from the Brighton-based band, following their 2020 debut EP ’Tapestry’. Led by the stunning vocals of singer Ananda Howard, the band’s music features cascading guitars, arping synthesisers, elegantly flowing keys, serene textures and a pulsing groove glued together with a brooding energy.

The single’s bright sound is matched by a lyrical message about the darker side of social media: “In an age of fabricated ideology that most of us maunder aimlessly through a digital reality, promoting and expressing your output can become almost overwhelming and ironically disconnecting” explains Ananda. “Expectations of image, “proving yourself” and an obligation to create statuses can cause a loss of context.”

El Gant shares the slick new video for “Pageants,” his lyrically charged single featuring none other than Ras Kass as well as neck-breaking production from Marco Polo.

Mo Stafford is on directorial duties for the video, which centers on shots of the two emcees spitting their verses while posted up in a low-key apartment. It’s a fitting setting for this type of track, because it’s all about eschewing pageantry and over-the-top BS in favor of artistry and lyrical content.

That feeling is truly palpable in the video. Backed by Marco Polo’s piano-stomping production, El Gant and Ras Kass detail their passion for hip-hop that goes well beyond a need for recognition. It’s an inescapable drive that’s in their blood—or, as El Gant says so eloquently on the hook, “The game came into my life like a bad habit.”

The band formed when Nathaniel and Jillian met in high school in South Bend, IN. The duo wrote a song together and the rest is history.

Have you played any notable gigs, festivals or other events? Likewise radio or TV appearances?

We are opening for the Barenaked Ladies on October 1st 2022 at the Morris 100 Fest in South Bend, IN. The band has also been featured in “Rock Band: Rivals” the video game.

Are there any other interesting or amusing happenings – no matter how small – that the band have been involved with that would be of interest to those who like your music?

We also just won the “Audience Choice” award for our documentary “State of the Unity” at the Montauk Film Festival in Montauk, NY. We premiered our film at the Sedona International Film Festival in Sedona, AZ where we won the “Excellence in Filmmaking” Award followed by the “Best Documentary” at the Paris Independent Film Festival, the “Best Directors of a Documentary” at DocuFest, and the “Artistic Pioneer” award at the Richmond International Film Festival. It has been a banner year for the group and they are releasing a new album “Far Out” the day before they open for the Barenaked Ladies.

The single/album was recorded in closets, rooms, and cars across the country. Matt Wiggins (Glass Animals, Adele, Florence and the Machine) mixed the album.

“Paradise” and the record “Far Out” marks a huge development of the band after the massively successful release of their debut full length documentary “State of the Unity”.

Can you briefly describe what the song/each song is about? If you are releasing an album then either describe the thinking behind the project or choose a couple of lead tracks to focus on.

Paradise is a song about letting go of our devices and learning to live again. There is no hope in chasing lies. The song was composed at a time when we could not move about freely – yet the desire to travel and see others was greater than ever.
