“A beautiful cinematic sound canvas, plunging into atmosphere where you forget everything about this world. There is a feeling of rising in weightlessness to the environment of billion stars. In deep silence, there’s only you and music.”

“Красивое кинематографическое музыкальное полотно, погружаясь в атмосферу которого забываешь всё на свете. Возникает ощущение, что ты паришь в невесомости в окружение миллиардов звёзд. Вокруг безмолвная тишина. Только ты и музыка в твоей голове.”

Jackson Quinn is an American artist, composer,, painter, image designer, and educator who has had a connection with music since touching his first guitar. His mixture of sounds are a combination of his connection to the natural world with intellectual thought. A world traveler, he is often musically inspired from past travels and living in different cultures, especially those in cold climates which are known for their reflective atmosphere. Eventually, this affected his music and art, later persuading his contemporaries to nickname him the Wintry One after a poetry and music session in snow covered Nova Scotia, Canada. Indeed his music is reflective in tone, but he incorporates it into his interpretation of Ambient electronic, Deep House, Chill out and Cinematic music.

VIB – Light At Midnight (Video)

Categories: Hip-Hop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“A powerful message delivered with the crispness of a cold night. We dig the chorus and the clarity of the production. Human struggles never sounded so good. Lyrically engaging and simple in a classic hip hop way. ”

-Nagamag.com

Emerging UK rapper VIB has unveiled his riveting debut single, “Light At Midnight”. Making an impactful entrance with a slice of immersive, thought-provoking hip-hop, the talented rapper proves he’s someone to pay close attention to.

Despite this being his first release, he’s been a musician almost his entire life – playing the drums and guitar, as well as singing, since a young age. Along with his evident musical talents, he is also a documented philanthropist with his own charity, Vib Save Children, which he founded in 2013 at just 11 years old. The charity helps to save and change the lives of less privileged children by helping them access education and various resources needed in order to have a greater quality of life.

The now 19-year-old is also a published author with two anthologies of poetry under his belt – with all proceeds going to his charity. Aside from all of this, he’s currently a second-year medical student, again inspired by his deep desire to help change and save lives. “Light At Midnight” follows this same ethos and speaks on VIB’s life experiences and the injustices in the world that he is so passionate about changing and making a difference with. Highlighting his impressive lyrical ability and hard-hitting rap flow, the gripping track evokes emotion throughout, with the gifted rapper making sure listeners feel his passion behind every single word.

Elaborating further, VIB says, “I wrote ‘Light At Midnight’ to try and encapsulate my life experiences and highlight how it has changed me as a person and the way I view life, people and the world. The song is meant to symbolise that life comes with struggle, hurt and intentional segregation; but if we were all to lead with compassion and love in life, there is always light in the darkness. It’s a story of my life and what I want to change in the world. The music video symbolises the frustration in my mind and how it feels being stuck in a dark place. The injustices and things that are wrong in the world keep me up at night and have me thinking constantly about how I can change things.”

Clearly gifted with many different talents, VIB is a bright light in a world that can often be dark and uncertain, and “Light At Midnight” marks the start of his exciting new chapter. Driven by a passion to make a difference, VIB is a much-welcomed addition to the hip-hop scene and will surely be one to watch over the next year as he reveals more new music.

Danny Hallen – Not Okay (Video)

“Nice and slow is how this one flows. We enjoyed the simplistic beat that is rich in simple drop offs. His voice is sultry and carries well within the context of the rhythm. A nice touch with the waa-waa muffles towards the end, well done.”

Be The One Tonight – LowDown Brass Band (Video)

Categories: Features, Jazz, Jazz Features, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“It’s practically impossible to stand still with this one. The beat pulls you in with a quality fusion of sounds from the American landscape. Nothing lights up a track like a proper horn section and clean vocals from the whole crew. ”

-Nagamag.com

“Be The One Tonight” is a classic party song that is a perfect example of how the LDB sound is evolving. You get the elements of the brass soli and instrumental at the beginning and in the middle of the song we are transformed into a modern “Trap” section of the tune, blending in elements of hip hop into the brass band sound. This song was a true collaboration and many of the artists in the collective offered their talents to the final product.

“Fresh and friendly EDM release with House elemets and soft vocals. “Am I” is the promising collaborative single from two skillful artists. Uplifting spirit and dancing mood which can guarantee your excitement. Don’t miss this chance!”

Powerhouse producers Deniz Koyu and Raiden team up on Protocol Recordings with their new track “Am I,” a dance-pop gem that sees the two exploring their softer sides. Opening with gentle melodies and a rolling bassline, “Am I” shines with wistful vocals that paint a picture of wanting a relationship with the substance after many hedonistic nights. The chorus incorporated a choppy, bouncy French house influence, which is a refreshing new sound for both Deniz Koyu and Raiden. “Am I” is the first time the German house music veteran and South Korean talent have collaborated and serves as the first release on Protocol this year from both artists. Deniz Koyu has recently released on STMPD RCRDS, while Raiden’s recent focus has centered on K-pop releases and composing music for various TV shows, including “Yours,” which has amassed over 45M streams on Spotify, becoming his most-streamed track to date.

Deniz Koyu is a dance music veteran who has helped to shape the landscape of progressive and electro house music as it is today with iconic club hits such as “Tung!”, “Bong” and many more. His work has included high-profile remixes of Alesso and Anitta’s “Is That For Me” and The Chainsmokers’ “Young.” He has evolved with the constantly changing landscape of electronic music, evidenced by his foray into indie-pop and house fusion with “Paradise” and the uplifting vocal house of “Lost Soul.” It follows Koyu’s prior releases “GO” on Spinnin’ Records, “Feel It” with Magnificence, and “Destiny” with Nicky Romero on Protocol. It’s always a treat when Deniz returns to the label, so keep an eye out for his next single!

Raiden is an academically trained producer and guitarist as well as a critically acclaimed artist who has established himself as a force to be reckoned with. As one of his most notable tracks – “Heart of Steel,” featuring Bright Lights, was featured in the Ultra Korea 2016 aftermovie and has amassed over 2,6M streams to date. His collaboration with DubVision, “Keep My Light On,” has garnered over 20M streams on Spotify alone since its release in 2018. He has also previously worked with K-Pop star YURI from Girls’ Generation, Chanyeol from EXO, Irene from Red Velvet, and Miyeon from (G)I-DLE. The South Korean talent’s performances at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Fabrik, Life in Color Ibiza, and World DJ Festival have garnered him a loyal international audience.

Ali Warren – Head Over Heart (Video)

Categories: Rock, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“Ali Warren steals our impression with this new single. Indie Folk style with influensive background sound patterns and sophisticated lyrics. The artist has made his personal ideas clear enough to recognize a skillful talent in “Head Over Heart”.”

-Nagamag.com

Ali Warren releases the long-awaited single ‘Head Over Heart’ on October 29th. A soul-drenched indie-folk epic, packed with emotion and layers of intricate instrumentation.

https://www.facebook.com/aliwarrenmusic/

Warren’s ethereal vocals have been likened to Jeff Buckley by many tastemakers including Tom Robinson’s blog Fresh On The Net, who also championed Warren’s lyrical post-rock on 6Music and BBC London. He’s had festival appearances at Larmer Tree and Sofar Festival, as well as United Islands Festival in the Czech Republic and made it to the longlist on Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition. Warren also hosted successful folk night ‘Stroke Your Beard’ at The Windmill in Brixton.

https://www.instagram.com/aliwarrenmusic/

Warren says ‘Head Over Heart’ is my way of mourning the loss of my younger self. Of acknowledging the better parts of the person I’ve grown into but missing the less desirable parts of a younger me.

I was always pretty angry growing up. I’ve found that as I’ve got older, I’ve learned to curb that anger…and I’m not sure I like that. I’ve found myself weighed down by the gloomy reality and complexity of it all rather than the optimistic, reckless, youthful view that I could, for my part, change the world.’

Alongside performing, Warren works for the NHS, which although rewarding has been particularly draining during covid. He says ‘The sense of loss and striving for something bigger and better certainly made its way into Head Over Heart.’

FVLCRVM, Annet X – Do It All Again (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“What happens when things go wrong? We just have to “Do It All Again”! Join in the mysterious atmosphere of this Contemporary R&B tune and forget any typical sound. Poping beat, rich percussion, singing duo and an interesting clip too.”

-Nagamag.com

https://fvlcrvm.lnk.to/doitallagain

Being exposed to MTV as a kid made late 90s pop a lifelong inspiration for FVLCRVM. His new single „Do It All Again” features direct references to two hits from this era and cements the 90s homage as FVLCRVM’s latest trademark. „Do It All Again” is a song about failing as an inevitable part of life which makes it even more a true anthem for millennials. Adding the feature vocals by Czech R&B singer Annet X turned out as zeitgeisty as delicate: “The first demo of Annet’s part was recorded on her headphone’s mic while she was a little sick. It was so unique it took us a lot of time to replicate the sound and vibe from the hi-fi studio recording,” explains FVLCRVM.

The music video by Saymon was shot in Slovakia in a real sand desert in Zahorie’s pine forest with the 90s Citroen XM designed by Bertone and starring FVLCRVM, Annet X and Miška Duchová. Obstacles like broken headlights in the pitch black field after the film crew was gone and an accidentally wrecked borrowed designer jacket were overcome by the artists.

SoftWave – System Failure (Video)

Categories: Blogwave, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“We tend to communicate via electronic means, but can this replace psysical contact? Dive into the hypnotizing synth patterns of “System Failure”. Unique Blogwave bomb that is ready to blow in your mind. This is your chance to restart and synchronize with sound!”

-Nagamag.com

A failure appeared right after SoftWave reached the pinnacle of their career thus far, touring with OMD (February 2020). The government’s new system of lockdowns and several restrictions pulled SoftWave away from their daily routine, deadlines, playing gigs and other immediate future plans.

http://www.softwavemusic.com/

But nothing can get in the way of SoftWave: Jerry kept on producing new music and Catrine observed how the Covid19 crisis affected people mentally around the world, which inspired her to write lyrics to the forthcoming new single “System Failure”. Some people have been struggling to accept the new normal and others simply chose to go with the stream. “System Failure” describes the duality of being isolated in many months without associating with others, and how much life with a computer can disturb the mind and even provoke frustration, depression and in rare cases – anger.

https://softwave.bandcamp.com/merch

The single seeks to show how important it is to maintain a permanent balance, a harmony between connecting with other people via a computer – and actually socializing in physical form.

https://twitter.com/SoftWaveMusic

A contrast between the modern and traditional way of communication, for lack of better wording. For the first time ever SoftWave has included vocoded vocals by Jerry, to emphasize how much certain people live their lives through a computer – and almost communicate to the world with it.

https://www.instagram.com/softwave_music/

The new single is followed by a music video that takes the song’s message to a higher level, reinforced by a Nordic and electric “popish energy”, delivered by the Danish synthpop duo you may know as SoftWave.

Arstidir – Endatafl (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“This track begins with carefully selected chords, swaying on its melodic waves. The artist draws his voice so thin that you can hear a droplet of sadness, hope and an ocean of sincere emotions. Bravo!”

“Трек начинается с грамотно подобранных аккордов, которые покачивают на своих мелодичных волнах. Исполнитель рисует своим голосом настолько тонкую эмоцию, что в ней можно услышать капельку грусти, надежды и океан искренних эмоций. Браво!”

-Nagamag.com

Inspired by our fellow Icelander’s Sigur Rós, our new single Endatafl is aimed at everyone who likes the evocative “Icelandic” sound, Icelandic Indie and Post-rock.

At the core Endatafl is a simple pop song, accessible to everyone, but with an emotional arrangement and a truly dramatic finale!
