“Hypnotic, deep and mentally stimulating. Great composure of some organic influenced midtempo house vibes. We were pleasantly lost in the rhythm few seconds into it. A definite mood maker from the top shelf of electronica. ”

Phill Reynolds – World on Fire (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“"Phill Reynolds" keeps the pace at a lower level and gives emphasis on even the smallest detail in sound. Folktronica production which gently cuddles its listener and introduces a new dimension in music. warm and elegant result which many artists wish to achieve.”

-Nagamag.com

The first new material since his latest album 'A Sudden Nowhere' came out earlier this year, the track features sparse and bare arrangements. A Fender Rhodes loop and minimal guitar touches are accompanied by the silky synth lines and vibrating backing vocals provided by Italian composer Iosonouncane. Phill describes it as "an SOS sent to a blurry promised land from inside a dream".

Kadebostany, Valeria Stoica – Wild in Secret (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“Kadebostany and Valeria Stoica have both put their creativity in this Indie Electronic candy. Light harmonic sound mix, which captivated our mind along with that etherial singing voice. Music with attitude that leaves its sign on almost every listener.”

-Nagamag.com

Kadebostany strikes again with another audacious single, the timeless and sophisticated pop anthem “Wild in Secret”.

With its moving songwriting, meticulous electric beats, twisted folk melodies and bewitched whispering vocals, “Wild in Secret” bridges the gap between folk and modern electronic music, with a feeling of “crying with a smile”, as best described by its creator.

Architect of future pop and creator of many chart-topping singles, the singular hit producer/composer Guillaume de Kadebostany joins forces once again with singer Valeria Stoica. “Wild in Secret” is the follow-up to the much acclaimed single “Take Me To The Moon” released earlier in 2021, which rapidly conquered both the radio charts and fans.

During a late-night recording session last summer, the magic operated again and “Wild in Secret” was born. The result is both spontaneous and unpredictable, and highlights once again Kadebostany's acclaimed mastery of modern pop.

Supported by a dreamscape of stunning visuals, “Wild in Secret” is another major contribution to the Kadebostany legacy.

Jelly Crystal, Esther – Freak Show (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“We will infrequently meet musical works, where the story is so beautiful. Each of us can listen in different ways, focusing on the music of -Jelly Crystal & Esther-. Very original Dream Pop and lively, juicy vocal duet performance.”

“Нечасто встретишь музыкальные произведения, в которых так красиво повествуется история. Каждый слушатель по-разному слышит и сопереживает музыке и это отчётливо понимают -Jelly Crystal & Esther-. Очень оригинальный dream pop и живое, сочное исполнение вокального дуэта.”

-Nagamag.com

"Freak Show" is an astounding debut album drawing inspiration from the timeless influential sounds of the 60s and 70s, yet is also injected with bold, experimental moments only 2021 could produce. The swooning title track, "Freak Show" includes lo-fi indie pop singer Esther that really makes the song flourish into a whole new level.

https://www.facebook.com/thejellycrystal

Jelly Crystal is the moniker of the Stockholm-based artist and songwriter Filip Johnson. As Jelly Crystal he is the left-field glam rock street entertainer, singing his heart out for nickels and dimes. Innocence and decadence are never far from each other in his dazzling presence and "Freak Show" is the introductory tale in his extraordinary character's odyssey.

https://www.instagram.com/jellycrystalmusic/

Born and raised in Gothenburg, his skills on the bass guitar got him noticed in Stockholm, where he moved to play in the bands Vacation Forever and HOLY. Along with these collaborative projects, he started releasing tracks as Jelly Crystal, making his debut in 2017 with a self-titled EP, followed by the single “Now Awake” with Scott Walker and David Bowie as influences, Johnson revels in the kind of high-drama, high-art star role those musicians made their names with. Fully loaded, nostalgic and elegant old-school pop. In many ways, what’s significant with Jelly Crystal today.

In 2021, Jelly Crystal released his debut album “Freak Show”, a loosely shaped concept album gravitating around his alter-ego, Jerry. It's both a twisted and alluring vaudeville, and even though he’s got one foot in the timeless melodies of pop history, Jelly Crystal never hesitates to dash head-first into yet uncharted territories. Happy go lucky by nature, Johnson might come off as carefree at first glance, but underlying Johnson’s charismatic crooning, there’s the strokes of sadness of someone who knows he’ll never fully fit in. Innocence and decadence are never far from each other on “Freak Show”, and even though its ceaselessly exhilarating, you’re never left with the feeling that the rollercoaster will ever derail.

“By listening to this solo piano performance, you feel a barely audible ringing of rain on thick foliage. Imagine a lake scenery with morning fog moving over the water. Peace and silence. This composition turned out to be very intimate, chamber and atmospheric.”

“Слушая сольное исполнение игры на пиано чувствуешь едва слышимый звон дождя по листве. Запах свежих каштанов, представляешь пелену белого тумана по утру над водной гладью спокойного озера. Умиротворение и тишина. Композиция получилась очень интимной, камерной и атмосферной.”

“"Entendre" is a piano-based piece that flowlessly unfolds its magic melodies for our ear pleasure. The talented pianist managed to captivate our interest with some unexpected shifts in the track's progression, thus giving a story-telling impression. Fantastic work, which worths a place in your music playlist.”

Oscars love for playing the piano began at 14 years after discovering the works of Ludovico Einaudi and John Carpenter. He attended piano lessons locally for a year before he started composing himself.

After showing some of his compositions to his piano teacher Oscar was advised to continue writing as there was a clear talent for composing in his music. In 2018 he was invited by his piano teachers company to attend studio sessions to begin experiencing the techniques and pressures of recording solo piano.

In 2019 Oscar studied music performance at college in Hampshire to develop a deeper understanding of the music and performance industry. He continued to compose in and out of college and when he completed his diploma in 2021, Oscar began recording his compositions ready to release in late 2021.

“Sometimes we may want to escape from cruel reality, but don't know how to achieve it. "adan diaz" is a bright example of free young spirit and his latest release reminds us something important; even in unpleasant situations we can find some moments of magic, which we usually overlook. Enjoy this Lo-fi Pop creation and see life from a different point of view.”

-Nagamag.com

Adan Diaz is a 17-year-old Mexican-American artist from outside Chicago. When the pandemic hit and he was confined to his bedroom, Adan found solace in a cracked version of Ableton Live. He recorded new music everyday. He tried out new ways of singing, sometimes in Spanish and other times in English depending on how he was feeling. Slowly but surely he discovered a new vocabulary to communicate the torrent of confusion, surprise, boredom, anger, and lovesickness he's felt during this particularly bizarre moment in human history.

Adan’s “legroom” EP is a classic alt rock debut – unassuming but cocksure, familiar in tone but constantly surprising. Out Nov. 12 on Godmode (JPEGMAFIA, Channel Tres, Yaeji, PawPaw Rod), the EP celebrates tiny pleasures fleeting amongst our broad uncertainty: sharing your twin-size bed, smoking a black & mild on a rainy day, wanting to get into trouble but not really knowing how.

Emily Shirley – Survivors (Spotify)

“Beautiful, exquisite ballad in which spiritual vocals and melodious mood are so harmoniously combined. The song instantly reveals its romantic promise and integrity, artistic charisma and originality.”

“Красивая, изысканная баллада, в которой так гармонично сочетаются душевный вокал и мелодичное настроение. Песня мгновенно затягивает своим романтичным посылом и цельностью, крепкой харизмой и оригинальностью. ”

-Nagamag.com

Artist shared few words with Nagamag behind this song inspiration:

"I wrote this song during the Texas Freeze last year, when so many people were stuck in their homes, without heat or power, for days. I had a song due for my songwriting group that week, & the subject was something I can't remember, but all I could write about in that moment was what I—& the people around me—were experiencing. This fall I went into the studio with Brian Douglas Phillips in hopes of capturing the song with a live studio feel. I think we accomplished that."

Emily Shirley’s brand of thoughtful songwriter pop/rock is as finely tuned and brightly colored as the graphic design projects she works on for her day gig. Her latest release, DuoTone, is a genre-bending hybrid of indie-pop melodies woven over thoughtful, grounded lyrics. It represents the full, vibrant sonic image of a writer who has come into her own in the Austin, Texas scene.

A Connecticut native, Emily was steeped in church choir, musical theater, and Debbie Gibson at a young age. Classically trained on piano and a veteran of high school and college semi-pro acapella choirs, she found her place as a vocalist and writer when she joined the Boston based band Amun Ra as the lead singer, touring their soulful pop songwriting with breakbeats and electronica to clubs across the Northeast. They released 2 full length albums in her 6 years with them.

In 2006, Emily moved to Austin, Texas and realigned her musical existence. Starting over in a new city without a band as well as juggling her graphic design business and being a mom, “I had to carve out my solo space and find a way to let music work with my lifestyle,” she notes. She fell in love with the piano again and began writing and gigging; she released her EP Tiny Truths in 2010, produced by Daniel Barrett (Ruthie Foster, Susan Gibson). Reviewsic described the EP’s sound as “executed with the same old-meets-new-quirkiness of Feist.” In 2013 she found her band again, joining Austin favorite The Belle Sounds on piano, synth, and vocals. She's toured Texas and the West Coast with The Belle Sounds, performing in esteemed venues like Strange Brew in Austin and The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

Most recently, Emily released a series of singles that culminated in the release of her 2015 EP DuoTone, now available as a limited edition disc. Featuring songs produced by Mark Hallman (Carole King, Ani DiFranco) and Daniel Barrett, DuoTone displays Emily's ability to illuminate scenes and landscapes through sound. "Suffering Soul" has a sonic palette that drops the listener in the middle of the desert, parched and desperate, searching for salvation. “Starstruck” brings a swinging piano and brassy horns to themes of nostalgia for more innocent artistic times, and hints to her list of musical influences like Nellie McKay and Rufus Wainwright. Emily Shirley’s artistic point of view and skillful sonic experimentation make for a varied and stirring repertoire. “My formative years are still happening,” she jokes when describing her musical life, the honest response of a musician and creator always on the lookout for the next spark.
