Born from improvisation, Bloom began as a spontaneous piano recording over a looping synth. Much of the original take was preserved, with additional layers added using only the instruments available at the time—clarinet, trombone, and piano—resulting in a sound that feels deeply personal. With Maria Karakusheva’s background in jazz clarinet, subtle jazz influences gently weave through the composition. The title Bloom reflects the piece’s gradual build, evoking the freshness of spring, new beginnings, and the emergence from darkness into light.
