Green Valdener – Sleep Walking (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Blogwave, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , , |

“Green Valdener and jaayns invite us into a -Sleep Walking- under the Sunday Choruses imprint, a gentely soulful pop chill which flows dreamy.”

-Nagamag.com

Sleep Walking is the second collaboration with Green Valdener for UK alternative artist Jaayns and follows their 2017 collaboration The Wrong Ones. Set within an ambient soundscape, this new collaboration explores the space of unconsciously being aware of how our life impacts on the world around us and how we are being unconsciously impacted by other people decisions and actions every day in return. Is it easier to stay asleep than put off dealing with the consequences of our actions?

Green Valdeners production is dreamy dark and epically chilled with a driving force which never quite provides the listener with resolution as it builds, pulls and falls away, yet is deeply pleasant to listen to. With a signature style that references back to their 2017 collaboration ‘The Wrong Ones’ this is a much more developed sound from Valdener.

“Can you hear this rustle of leaves falling on the piano keys? This will not stop the talented pianist -Justus Rümenapp- from continuing his performance in a day of falling leaves which he fills the silence with a sensual melody that soundtracks autumn.”

“Вы слышите этот шорох листвы опадающий на клавиши рояля? Это не сможет помешать талантливому пианисту Justus Rümenapp продолжать свой осенний день. И он наполняет чувственной мелодией осени тишину нашего дня.”

Moncrieff – AMERICA (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Best of 2020, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“The beginning of the song captivates us with a familiar melody. Oh yes, this is America! You get up and don't move quickly to the beat. These vibrations are smooth, but they won't make you sleep! Spreads the fun until the morning! Moncrieff knows a lot how to put is in a party with his new single!”

“Начало песни нас подкупает знакомой мелодией. Ах да, это же Америка! Вы встаете и не быстро начинаете двигаться в такт. Эти вибрации плавные, но они не заставят вас спать! Веселье до утра! Moncrieff с своим новым синглом знает толк в вечеринке!”

-Nagamag.com

2020 has been a huge year for Moncrieff, and has seen him featured on a host of 2020 hot lists (2FM ‘Rising Artist of 2020’, Goldenplec ‘Plec Pics’ for 2020 and named as one of Her.ie’s ‘Ones To Watch’ for 2020 amongst them). Now he is set to release his hotly anticipated new single ‘AMERICA’ on the 30 October 2020, as well as announcing the release of his second EP ‘The Class of 2020’, which is out on the 27 November 2020.

‘AMERICA’ is a satirical social commentary on the big brother of the world disguised as a tik tok friendly viral internet urban pop banger. On the surface, ‘AMERICA’ has no other initial motive other than to make you move and sing along - however the lyrics when read tell a different story. Under the surface of the upbeat production the song’s lyrics hit a deeper note that comments on some of the absurdities of American culture, centred around consumerism and materialism. “We spend money we don't have on things we don't need to impress people we don't like.”

Speaking about the EP, Moncrieff says: “I had planned to release my second EP earlier this year but I felt after all the world kind of came to a standstill that maybe I should hold off. Nobody had a clue what was happening and the music didn’t feel fully right for the time. Then I realised these are the times that I had actually always dreamt about writing songs for and being able to make music that had a voice in this bizarre time we’re in.”

Moncrieff’s debut body of work ‘The Early Hurts’ EP featured lead track ‘Like I Do’, this debut radio single (released in Sept 2019) received extensive airplay across national radio racking up nearly 12 million audience impressions and 5 million streams. The success of the single and EP led to Moncrieff selling out his first headline show in Dublin in less than 3 hours. His growing reputation also landed support slots touring with headline Irish acts Picture This and Walking on Cars.

Having spent most of early 2020 in the solitude of his friend and co-producer Toby Scott’s home studio in Brighton, what has resulted is a collection of songs free and unconfined by genre that capture the zeitgeist of an ever changing musical and cultural landscape. With the current state of world affairs in turmoil, this new chapter sees Moncrieff explore his role and place as a young person transitioning into adulthood in a world that seems to be getting crazier by the day.

‘AMERICA' the brand new single from Moncrieff is out on the 30 October 2020 across all streaming platforms. ‘The Class of 2020’ EP is out on the 27 November 2020.

The Lovepools – White Lies & Palm Trees (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“Take your eyes off the phone and look around with a clean gaze. Do not forget who we are inside. There is a lot of deception around, and this is not a reason to become part of the whole world. We are unique, we are intelligent, we can become brilliant!”

“Уберите взгляд от телефона и с чистым взглядом посмотрите по сторонам. Не стоит забывать кто мы внутри. Вокруг много обмана, и это не повод стать частью целого мира. Мы уникальны, мы разумны, мы можем стать гениальны!”

-Nagamag.com

The group starts their track, “White Lies & Palm Trees” with singer, Anthony Shea’s mournful voice singing over his quiet acoustic guitar. Like a head-on collision, the song and video simultaneously explode into synth-pop sounds and visuals filling one with a similar nostalgia of playing on their first Super Nintendo.

With a cinematic visual style comparable to “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World”, the singer wakes from an obvious hangover and leads the viewer down a rabbit hole of temptations: masked girls, drug deals, bags of money and unsigned record contracts.

Directed by psychedelic visionary Javier Burgos, partnered with visual artist Matthew Lyon, under their company, Apeship Entertainment, “White Lies & Palm Trees” features a past, present and future of The Lovepools story told through a parallel universe of the band acting and performing in live action while fighting as their respective 8-bit characters in retro arcade gameplay down Hollywood Blvd. The video was edited by Ken Koller who is known for his editing work with Nicki Minaj, Asher Roth and Patrick Stump.

The Lovepools previous single, “See You In The Funny Papers” was featured on the Season 9 premiere of Showtime’s “Shameless”. Most groups would have followed up a “Shameless” placement with a rock single of a similar nature. The Lovepools however, are no one-trick pony. Instead, they choose to ride gleefully on a horse with no name.

Valencia James – All The Waves (Official Audio) (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“All The Waves, the new single of Valencia James under Shout Music Imprint, is an abundant electro pop song, with the right mix in production, smart selection of sounds and minimalism in harmonies which are profoundly impactful to erupt these mesmerizing vocals. ”

-Nagamag.com

New York born, Sydney bred dark-pop artist Valencia James is making music for those in need. With a catalogue of music inspired by real life events, Valencia is on a mission song by song to give listeners something real, something organic, something true.

Her latest release “All The Waves” was written amidst all the chaos, with Valencia bringing a brave and hopeful sound, reminding us that the hardest of times can actually bring out the best in us. The song speaks about how life’s struggles keep trying to knock us down, but where there is love there is still life and there is still so much more good ahead for us. Valencia confides, “All The Waves takes inspiration from a really long, hard season I was going through that lasted really up until now and it’s become even more relevant with everything going on in 2020. It’s my way of comparing my fear of the waves to how I feel about the situations in my life and the hits that I’ve taken being likened to a succession of waves breaking over me.”

Valencia gets vulnerable in one of her darkest times and gives us a glimpse of how there is always hope on the horizon alongside co-writer and producer Harrison Wood and Peter James, whose works include contributing to a Grammy Award-winning song.

“All The Waves” was mixed by Sydney-based Ben Whincop (Stan Walker, Missy Langcaster) and mastered in Paris, France by Bruno Gruel (David Guetta, Kelly Rowland), and brings us Valencia’s signature dark and edgy voice aligned with new passion and hope. With influences ranging from Dua Lipa, Khalid and Halsey, Valencia delivers a honest and poignant song, casting light when we need it the most.

“All The Waves” is currently available worldwide.

“Luca Bluefire and Courtney Waldron deliver us an ambient neoclassical vocal theme with their latest signgle - Forgotten Heroes- under Long Gone Daya imprint. A dreamt emotive story which tickles your ear like a feather thanks to wonderful mix it offers. ”

-Nagamag.com

Humanity's expansion and development is created by those who dare, those who
have the courage to go one step further, and show what is possible to the others.
But what about those who do so and fail or - even worse - die?
Are they a part of humanity's progress? Will they be remembered in history,
and from those who will benefit from their courage and their actions?

"Forgotten Heroes" is inspired by the great number of applicants to the project
"Mars One", a one-way ticket to Mars with no possibility of coming back.
People willing to leave their planet of origin to explore wider spaces,
even if that means a certain death in the unknown.

LYRICS:

And you have waited for the stars
All our hopes they where out there
And you walked among satellites
Looking for something you couldn’t find

Black Holes are Here
Empty Spaces and Lost Souls
Black Hole, I’m here
Coming closer, drowning into

I can see the earth that spins away
while I inhale my last breath
do all forgotten heroes
away from home, die alone?

And all of what’s out there
Is hidden in here
Black Hole, I’m here
Coming closer, diving into
