Rudyb – Impact Zone (Video)

Categories: Rock, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“Clearly sentimental song of a kind that’s not easily forgotten. “Impact zone” is about a love story which faded away in time. This may not be the ideal ending as it happens in all fairytales, but it does sound like a fairytale with its Indie Pop style and the artistic clip too! ”

Blood Honey – Don’t Wait Up for Me (Spotify)

“Taken from the album "Wings", can easily reveal Rebecca's artistry via its soft and selective soundscape. On top of all lies the singer's etherial voice, which immediately lighten our tired body and mind.”

Los Angeles's alternative dark pop duo, Blood Honey, get ready to drop their debut EP Blood Honey next week. Blood Honey is a gorgeous body of moody, alt-pop tracks with an indie electronic twist. From the heady "Game Baby" to the standout single "Don't Wait Up For Me," Blood Honey's brilliant culmination of sound pulls influence from some of your favorite trailblazers like Portishead, Massive Attack, and Nine Inch Nails.

New focus track "Don't Wait Up For Me" is an impressive stand out amongst the many gems in the Blood Honey EP. "I just want to be somebody," echoes throughout the track with a hypnotizing effect and Jackie's vocals effortlessly float above a moody bass line and synth driven soundscape.

"a spellbinding masterpiece" - Ratings Game Music

"unveil a bold and driven electro-pop groove, with hints of Little Dragon" - Mystic Sons

"A finessed yet stripped-back approach to alt-pop" - Alfitude

When Blood Honey members Kevin and Jackie first met, they bonded over their music taste. Kevin was studying cognitive neuroscience but ultimately dropped out of a PhD program to chase after his dream of playing music. Jackie had been struggling to live on her own after being kicked out at 18, but eventually gave into her parents' wishes and went back to school. However, an Ovarian Cancer diagnosis forced Jackie to drop out. A long, hard battle resulted in the loss of both her ovaries but also resulted in the start of Blood Honey.

Since the release of their debut single in early 2021, the burgeoning duo have seen a steady rise in fans on a weekly basis and have garnered over 44K streams thus far.

In Love & WAR – Lament For What We’ve Lost (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , , |

“You have repeatedly heard the expression; the music treats the body and soul. -Lament for What We've Lost- is among those songs, that can make the people happy. If you are in a state of depression or stuck in life problems, such music makes the world brighter. With this charm and bliss you can finally be yourself.”

“Вы неоднократно слышали выражение - музыка лечит душу и тело. -Lament For What We've Lost- в их числе и делает нас, людей самыми счастливыми. Находитесь вы в состояние депрессии или погрязли в жизненных проблемах, подобная музыка делает мир ярче. И какое же очарование и блаженство, когда расправив крылья ты можешь быть самим собой.”

-Nagamag.com

This original instrumental piece is an elegy to mourn all of the people, places, events, and sheer time that we have all lost as a result of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic in 2020. It was meant to be sad and haunting, but still colored by a ray of hope for the return of better, safer times. "Lament For What We've Lost" was initially commissioned by Tosca Rivola for her incredibly beautiful and moving short film about 2020, "2020ism."

Music written by Koi Anunta / In Love & WAR
Violin/piano performed by Koi Anunta / In Love & WAR
Mixed/mastered by Ali Nikou / Blaster Master Productions

Koi Anunta is the founding and sole permanent member of In Love & WAR (#ILAW). She is a Yale graduate and medical doctor who gave up medicine to pursue her love of music full-time in Los Angeles.

Koi was classically trained in piano since the age of 4 and violin since the age of 8, and has perfect pitch. Despite her classical roots, she is heavily influenced by iconic bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Garbage, Portishead, Massive Attack, and Tori Amos.

"Lament For What We've Lost" is the newest, all-instrumental release for ILAW (Nov 18, 2020). Koi wrote, played, and produced all the piano and violin on this track. It is a haunting elegy for what we have all suffered and lost in the past year, but with an uplifting ray of hope running throughout for better times to come. The accompanying YouTube music video here (https://youtu.be/u-4Q7-cyyqg) showcases placards of many major 2020 events, including #BLM.

Although Koi has since contributed strings or keys to countless other artists’ recordings as a professional musician, and always continued to write songs for her own personal benefit, she never felt completely comfortable showing anyone her original work or singing solo in public until 2018, when she met a Capitol Records producer in Los Angeles who insisted on hearing one of her private song demos. His unwavering belief in her talent encouraged her to rediscover her voice. Thus, the debut In Love & WAR EP, Tessitura (2019), was born as the result of essentially a lifetime of melodies and lyrics that were always held back in fear—until now. The six songs on Tessitura represent a search for identity, love, meaning and truth in a world full of uncertainty and deception. It is an elaborate, yet desolate soundscape that is part trip-hop and part symphony.

Koi performed all the vocals and played/programmed all the instruments on Tessitura with the exception of the drums (Mike Diggs), and on the track “Tell Me You’ll be There,” guitar (Jake Faun) and flute (Ricky Berger).

Tessitura was produced by Koi Anunta, mixed by Ali Nikou, and mastered by Andrew Balogh.

“-LMK (If You Wanna See Me)- can snatch a heart from its own body. Take off above the clouds, recharge from the rays of the sun and return. Music felt as if wrapping you into an imaginary blanket and in this cozy atmosphere you are able to forget about everything. Are you ready to dive in the song, as if in the bottomless ocean?”

“Припев в – lmk (if you wanna see me)- способен вырвать сердце из собственного тела; взлететь выше облаков, зарядиться лучами солнца и вернуться. Музыка словно заворачивает вас в воображаемое одеяло и в этой уютной атмосфере вы способны забыть обо всём. Вы готовы утонуть в песне, словно в бездонном океане? ”

Maviii, Pete Rango – Time (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Blogwave, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“With a current, meaningful narrative discussing the way our collective & personal perception of time has changed drastically in the past year. This sweet-toned song aptly entitled ‘Time,’ carries us along on a tide of emotion with a strong main melody, surrounded by engaging vocal harmonies and instrumentation.”

-Nagamag.com

Time has a funny way of playing games with our delicate minds. At times it can stand still, or feel like it's slipping away through our fingers. We created it, It's so valuable, and we all have a limited amount. When I was quarantined for 4 months alone time began to move in a way I have never experienced before. I was able to reflect on the parts of myself I wanted to change. This song encompasses what it feels like to navigate your life when time loses all meaning. To take cold showers to try and feel more present, to dance so you don't cry. Just like every challenge we face in this life, we grow through it.

Sofi Gev – Horrors in the Dark (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“"Horrors in the Dark" is a song that talks about our bad life incidents. Traumatic experiences deeply burried in the mind, but never forgotten. Even if we cannot erase such negative memories, we should find the strength to become unaffected from their influences. Sofi Gev sings to bring hope and somehow soothe our broken hearts. Priceless work from a real artist.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist shared with Nagamag few words behind this inspiration:

"I wrote “Horrors in the Dark” after my mother lost her brother to suicide, which was and remains unbearably hard. My uncle was a towering figure and a gentle soul, wise and compassionate. The third verse is an homage to him, who we lost far too early, and to the power of his life and legacy. His passing and the grief of all the people who loved him made me think about how we all have some kind of trauma inside of us that never fully heals. The kind of pain that is very difficult to even talk about. “Horrors” uses metaphors to convey how we dance around our deepest fears that we sometimes twist into something else entirely in our minds because they’re too painful to face head on. But these dark things in our lives are still always a part of us.

I wrote this song with my producer, Nate Pyfer (Kaskade, The Moth and the Flame, Sego), and co-writer, Chris Scharman. The strings were arranged by Stuart Maxfield (Fictionist, s2_Cool, Mr. Mental)" - Sofi Gev

Abc Dialect – Daydream (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“A single made from a variety of musical techniques and tricks. Experimental and yet classic sound, thus creating a significant and of particular flavor characteristic we find in many projects in the genre of indie pop.”

“Сингл -Daydream- наполнен разнообразными музыкальными приёмами и фокусами, экспериментальным и в то же время классическим звучанием, тем самым создавая весомый и особый оттенок свойственный многим проектам в жанре indie pop.”

-Nagamag.com

“Daydream” is the third release from the group’s forthcoming debut LP titled ‘Out Here,’ scheduled for release later in 2021. The single comes on the heels of their previous release “You” which was released in March of 2021.

"Daydream" was originally recorded in 2019 alongside co-producer Daniel Nentwig of The Whitest Boy Alive. The song, along with the entire ‘Out Here’ album, was recorded live alongside a full band at Butterama Recording Studios in Berlin. Melodically, “Daydream” features smooth rhythm, soft keys, warm vocals and uplifting strings. The song feels like a sultry fireside dream pop tune with jazz influenced undertones.

Comprised of Argentinian songwriters Luca Oliva Knight and Tomas Susevich, Abc Dialect have quickly emerged as a promising independent musical project. The young beatmakers draw on their diverse musical influences (including 90s house, 70s funk, soulful jazz, R&B, & more) to craft original thought-provoking melodies that evoke a sense of emotions including nostalgia, euphoria, empathy, sorrow and more.

Towards the end of 2019, Abc Dialect travelled to Berlin to record their debut album “Out Here” co-produced by Daniel Nentwig of The Whitest Boy Alive and Kings of Convenience. The LP is slated for release later this year on Casablanca Sunset Records. Prior releases from the duo have received a variety of support online from music outlets like Delicieuse Musique, Indie Shuffle, Sidekick Music, Noon Pacific, Acid Stag, Tensnake, Disco Naïveté, Bristol Funk and more. In December of 2019, the group also shared LEFTI’s nu-disco remix of their single “Magic,” on Casablanca Sunset which climbed to #1 on the Hype Machine popular charts.

Kaeley Jade – Painless (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“The perfect combination of some deeply emotional vocals and groovy riff sounds, can be found in this recent release from “Kaeley Jade”. “Painless” is one of those songs that can be used to express ourselves when we feel affected by negative behaviours.”

-Nagamag.com

Canadian indie pop artist Kaeley Jade is excited to announce the release of her new single ‘Painless’ on all digital platforms.

Produced by the Juno-nominated team at Velveteen Music https://www.velveteenaudio.com/, ‘Painless’, dances through the nuclear fallout of a relationship gone awry. Inspired by artists like Vance Joy and Maggie Rogers, ‘Painless’ is filled to the brim with shimmering hooks, velvety vocals and groovy riffs. Both cynical and celebratory, the Métis artist disguises a deep emotional rawness in a crisp and vibrant package of indie pop.

“In a lot of ways, ‘Painless’ is a continuation of the story I had told in my debut single, ‘Years Ago’,” says Kaeley. “All of my songs are sparked from my own personal experiences, and in this case, I had more to say on that particular chapter of my life. Where ‘Years Ago’ looks wistfully into the past at what could have been, ‘Painless’ is a seer’s look into a dystopian future. I wrote it as a reminder to myself to always trust my instincts, because some things just aren’t worth the pain that comes with pursuing them, as tempting as they might be.”

Also released is the colourful and creatively shot video for ‘Painless’. Kaeley explains: “The pandemic really forced us to get creative with how we shot the video. While I had always envisioned a project that combined my skills as a multidisciplinary artist, figuring out how to achieve that while being forced to work with a lot of limitations proved to be an exciting challenge. We shot the entire video in a mock studio we built in my dad’s shop, and we had a very small crew on set, with my cohort doing most of the helping out.”

Since dropping her debut single in January 2020, Kaeley has been making waves in the Canadian music scene. After a strong community response, ‘Years Ago’ was added to the regular rotation on 102.3 NOW! in Edmonton and her music has been featured on Spotify editorial playlists including: New Music Friday, New Music Friday Canada and Fresh Finds. Kaeley’s music has also been played on Indigenous radio stations across North America, and her single, ‘Highway 16’, broke the Indigenous Music Countdown Top 10.

Kaeley Jade’s new single ‘Painless’ is available now on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, and other digital retailers and streaming services worldwide. For more info, please visit https://kaeleyjade.com/
