"I wrote this when I was living with my parents a year into the pandemic. I was making music out of their garage (so literally my own garage band lol). I made this one night when I wanted to create something comforting. The song is about wanting someone to hold you if you lost your mind and accepting that a dark place is okay when you know it’s temporary."

Finish What You Started is actually quite a motivational track, and not in a forceful way – gentle, persuasive and inspirational, Boo encourages the listener to continue the work, to continue chasing dreams despite how hard it can get. Evocative of early 2010s indies Two Door Cinema Club and The Strokes, smooth electronic beats mesh flawlessly with guitar and Boo’s stunning falsetto. Rising singer-songwriter and global citizen Eli Lev is making the world a smaller place, one song at a time. Eli pens lyrics and melodies for everyday enlightenment—songs that resonate because they’re heartfelt, earthy, and offer the wisdom he’s gained through lifelong travel and self-discovery.
The Silver-Spring, Maryland-based artist just released Deep South, the third album in a four-part directional series that was inspired by indigenous traditions he learned while teaching on the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona. Just as each cardinal direction holds unique characteristics in the Navajo tradition, so do each of the albums in Eli’s ‘Four Directions Project.’ Together, the series imaginatively and intrepidly connects spheres and generations within a body of work that is irresistibly uplifting, emotionally resonant, and down-to-earth authentic.
Eli explains, “We are surrounded by four directions, and each has distinctive attributes, powers, and teachings according to Navajo traditions. For example, because the sun rises in the east, it is the first direction and source of new ideas and inspiration. With that in mind, I started my EP series in 2017 with All Roads East, echoing the sounds of my youth and upbringing (altcountry/Americana). A year later I released Way Out West, where I experimented with the frontiers of folk tropes and melodies (indie folk). For my latest album Deep South, I’ve gone back to my southern roots with a truly modern and powerful sound (folk rock and pop). I’ll round out the project in 2020 by releasing a more introspective True North (acoustic singer songwriter).”
Eli’s releases have earned critical praise from Paste Magazine, Buzzfeed, CBS Radio, AXS, and The Bluegrass Situation, and have received national folk radio support and placement on prominent Spotify playlists. In 2019, Eli Lev won multiple industry awards for his work: his second album Way Out West won a Washington Area Music Award (WAMMIE) for best Country/Americana album, while his single “Chasing Daylight” won a grand prize in the SAW Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Competition.

Dance music figurehead Kevin McKay has released 'Goodies', the new single from his brand new album of the same name; a superb collection of his most standout recent tracks, looking back over a massively productive 15 month period. The essential selection takes in a broad array of remixes and originals from the Glasgow Underground label head, world-renowned DJ and tireless producer.
The single 'Goodies' is a rework of Ciara's 2004 R&B classic ‘Goodies.’ Talking about the new single Kevin McKay said, "This track started as an edit I made of the Ciara original to play out. I love the simplicity of Lil Jon's production (musically, it's almost all on one note!), and Ciara's rhythmic delivery makes for a great dancefloor mover. So I've taken the signature chorus, wrapped it up in a heavy tech beat and developed the Ocarina synth in the original into a big drop synth. It got a wicked reaction when I played it at the GU party at NT's Loft in January."
Even by his high standards, Kevin McKay has had a landmark couple of years. His label is closing in on an incredible 700th release, and the man himself continued to turn out a high-grade, non-stop selection of vital sounds that covered a wide spectrum of house styles. Back in 2020, he dropped his well-received 'Summer Of Love' LP which perfectly captured the club experience in one indispensable album. There was also a huge collaboration with French house producer Norman Doray on "Let Me Work On You" while the Glasgow Underground label continued to make exciting new talent signings with the likes of prodigious producer Harvee quickly making his mark.
All this of course comes after Kevin has spent many years deeply entrenched in the scene. In that time he has earned a deserving reputation as one of house music's most hard-working figures and has done everything from working in high profile collaborative duos with Omid 16B, creating numerous dance floor anthems, discovering and co-producing Mylo’s seminal album, ‘Destroy Rock & Roll’ album and holding down a residency at Mick's Garage in London.
The new album features plenty of new vocal tunes such as "Take It Back", "Open Your Heart" and "Voices", but the majority of the tracks are classic songs and samples re-imagined with a 2022 groove, including his huge new rework of Ciara's "Goodies".
