Matt Herbst – Always In My Heart

Categories: Neoclassical, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“Like a flower that blooms in the early Spring, this Acoustic piece -slowly but gradually- reveals its beauty of sound. Matt Herbst does miracles with his piano and Kimberly’s angelic voice. An authentic gem that will earn your appreciation.”

This song is about the endurance of love over time. It is a lullaby that is dedicated to all our loved ones, who are always in our hearts, including our animal friends. I had the great pleasure of working with one of my favorite singers, Kimberly Knighton, who performs the vocals here. The song itself goes back to an early melody I had written years ago, with more recently revised lyrics. I recorded the song at June Audio in Provo, Utah. The film was shot by videographer Nick Sales, who also provided the cinematography. I am thrilled to share this with you all. I hope it brings to mind your loved ones, including those who are with us today as well as those who have passed but will remain in our hearts forever. The song is also available for streaming or downloading via all the common platforms. Thank you.

The song describes a relationship that wasn’t mutual, the woman didn’t feel the same way as the man did.

The man feels that the woman doesn’t give him the love he deserves, and it’s making him weak, and everything suddenly seems so weird.

He starts to recollect all of the wildest dreams that came true and the ones that they planned for the future to come.

He talks about the deep connection that they had, his strong feelings that dont align with hers.

JJ Slater – Till the Sun Goes Down

“An aerial extravaganza from the mesmerizing Indie Folk, in which soft rhythms are like trees swaying in the winds. An ecstatic moment for your soul, as if you were united with mother nature herself.”

“Воздушная феерия из гипнотизирующего Indie Folk, в которой мягкие ритмы словно покачивающиеся на ветру деревья подгоняемые прохладными осенними ветрами. Прекрасное упоение для души, словно ты объединился с самой матерью-природой.”

Artist said about this song:

"I wrote this song a couple of summers ago, and it’s really about trying to assert yourself, to yourself- and to shed burdening other people. There will always be self-doubt when starting this journey, which is peppered throughout the song. I produced it to sound like some long-lost nugget, ending with a ramshackle, campfire-like jam."

John Adams – Changes

“When considerable changes happen in our lives, we may find ourselves inside a storm of various feelings. John Adams shares his experiences of becoming a father, via this very personal song. Sophisticated Acoustic sound and lyrics of pure love, which won't leave you unaffected.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist said about this song:

" 'Changes' is a particularly special song to me. I wrote this one on the evening my twins were born. I'd spent the whole pregnancy petrified about becoming a dad but the moment we finally met all my negative thoughts were pushed out, as if there was no space left. I was completely filled with love.

I wanted to make the production fit the sentiment; I used the heartbeat from our ultrasound as the foundations of the song and the backing vocals are done by my wife."

Matthew Ryan Jacobs – Grace

“Atmospheric and dizzying song with beautiful style and exceptional work from "Matthew Ryan Jacobs". The music takes you to a temple on the edge of the mountains where the midday sun rises. Its powerful guitar riffs and vocals will cause you an adrenaline rush.”

“Атмосферная и головокружительная песня, красивая музыкальная стилистика исполнителя и исключительная харизма. Музыка отправляет вас в храм, стоящий на краю гор, где восходит полуденное солнце. Мощные гитарные риффы и вокал вызывают выброс адреналина в кровь!”

“”Grace” was once again recorded with Ben Kempel, usually I send him a demo version and then we go through and add our parts. I’ve typically played most of the guitars and Ben took care of the drums, bass, piano…but for this one the playing is all mostly done by Ben. We have a good relationship that way, whoever’s parts end up working better for the song is what is kept. This was one of those songs that I wrote in what seemed like 10 minutes. Sent it to Ben, he put the music together, I came by and sang it, and done!” – Matthew Ryan Jacobs

Granite to Glass – There’s Nothing Quite Like Missing You (Connecticut Welcome Center)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“This voice is so sensual that it feels like the singer is right next to you. He has a guitar in his hands, a lonely flame of a bonfire burns out at his feet in the night and thoughts of desperate loss are haunting his mind.”

“Голос настолько чувственный, что появляется ощущение, как будто вокалист находится рядом с тобой. В руках у него гитара, у ног догорает одинокое пламя костра в ночи, а высоко в небо улетают тысячи остывающих в мгновение угольков, чей пепел уносят в высь южные ветра.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist said about this song:

"I wrote this song for someone I was in love with who passed away suddenly. In the song, I recount older solo touring days where I'd go out alone, and at night I'd have to look for a spot to safely sleep in my car. The hopelessness and loneliness I felt in those moments was just like the feeling of missing her desperately. The fact that you can be well within in a city, but never actually be touching "New York." A sort of invisible distance, even though you are so incredibly close. But nonetheless, even in my tiny car, alone and cold, there was nowhere I would rather be, because I will never stop missing her."

Jake Scott – Texas Girl

“Loving someone and being next to them gives familiar feelings, as if you were at home. Precious music, in which emotions are conveyed with so much warmth. Its bright, soulful layout is a confirmation of this.”

“Любовь к человеку, нахождение рядом с которым дарит знакомые чувства, как будто ты оказался в родном доме. Музыка, в которой с такой теплотой переданы эмоции, очень ценна и её яркая, выполненная с душой аранжировка тому подтверждение!”

Jake Scott began his career in 2013 with the release of his first EP, Of Life and Love and Longing. The project debuted on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and quickly caught the attention of industry professionals. Shortly after, the Arkansas-native signed a publishing contract with Grammy-award winning songwriter David Hodges and moved to Los Angeles. He spent several years writing and producing songs for other artists, including Jason Mraz, Aloe Blacc and more.

Following his time in the trenches of the Los Angeles songwriting circles, Jake decided to commit himself to releasing, writing and self-producing a song every month for as long as possible. He began this process in January 2018 with the song Tuesdays, which has since earned nearly 30M streams. He recently ended his song-per-month release strategy in December 2020 -- accumulating 250M+ streams, 3M+ monthly listeners, and selling out his first headline tour in the process.

Looking ahead, Jake is releasing his first formal project this summer. Jake said about the project, “The project is the story of realization, accepting the difficult truth and having the courage to let go.” The single “Off” will be available in April.

Throughout Jake’s entire career as an artist, he has remained 100% independent by choice.

Ian Lake – Fishing for Promises

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“The multi-artist Ian Lake, reveals a part of his character in this new single. Gentle melodies from piano and cello are used as a minimal background for the sentimental lyrical part. Words expressing thoughts which come straight from the heart, revealing an interesting story of love.”

-Nagamag.com

Songwriter and actor Ian Lake uses his musical gift to connect people through the unifying bond of our shared human experience. Powerful, textured vocals and brutally honest lyrics, and soulful melodies, give Lake’s songwriting immediate impact, and leave a lasting impression.

“Fishing for Promises,” his third offering from this record, is a piano and cello ballad, about feeling misunderstood, and the imagined conversations that come out of it. It is easily his most raw and vulnerable song to date.

“The song is about unrequited love, and feeling misunderstood,” said Ian. “It’s an imagined conversation that will never take place. What would I say if I actually got the chance to explain myself to the person who’s been occupying my mind? The song is equal parts clinging to hope, and calmly accepting whatever comes.”

The upcoming debut album What It Is (out April 22nd) finds Ian Lake on a journey from fragile vulnerability to courage and resolve.

Jem – Lost

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“The new release of “Jem” can draw the line between typical and sopnisticated music. Sentimental chords of guitar accompany some of the most memorable lyrics, while the artist’s fathomless voice adds a kind of unearthly aura in the whole mix.”

-Nagamag.com

Beguiling, alluring and utterly captivating, alternative rock artist and all round mystic Jem has returned with his second cinematic single, the mesmirising ‘Lost’. Following on from the November 2021 release of the spellbinding ‘Secrets’ which marked a rare and enticing debut, Jem partners this initial enchanting entrance into the industry with the next authentic taste of his artistry.

Often writing from the perspective of another and having drawn inspiration from the incredibly moving BAFTA and Academy Award winning film, The Pianist, ‘Lost’ explores the concept of a dystopian world of a man who lost it all. Referred to as the ‘negative realm’ by the artist, Jem shares,

‘The desperation I’ve felt while watching the Pianist stuck with me until recent years, so I’ve started journaling, and the sentiments I’ve felt became real within this song.”

Accompanied again by another visual of momentous beauty, ‘Lost’ is haunting and thick with emotion, directed by Jems older brother Necip Karakas. Taking place in an ancient church, accented with gold and dotted with the warm, gentle glow of candles, a soft spotlight pierces through the windows casting a stream of incandescent rays onto Jem illuminating him against the heavy dark shadows while Jem delicately begins ‘Million years without the sun’.

Almost dreamlike ‘Lost’ is the perfect melismatic blend of Jem’s vocals and the sound of Oud (native Middle Eastern instrument). Layered with undulating electric guitars that call out into the distance as they build and grow into a cathartic release, Jem states that, “Feeling lost is a common theme; it is okay to feel like that; there is nothing wrong with it. When I say it out loud, it makes me feel better. I would want people to take this away.”

Utilising his fluency in vocal registers, Jem travels between them with an unforeseen ease and grace. Pushing the boundaries, both his head and chest voice come together in perfect synthesis creating a tone that speaks to his audience not only musically but also on a spiritual level.

It’s clear that Jem is not here simply to create music; with every release he dives even deeper within himself, each time returning with a new world to bring to the surface. Unafraid to visit places and play with intonations that may be unfamiliar, unusual or even uncomfortable for some, Jem is unapologetic in his authenticity, therein lies the true definition of an artist, one Jem lives and breathes.

“I always felt I was different. I didn’t fit anywhere. And to be fair, I never bothered to be a perfect fit for anyone or anything. Over the course, music happened to be a lens for me to share my alienation.” – JEM

With his debut EP release just on the horizon, ‘Don’t Let Me Disappear’ represents an eclectic medium of transportation whilst showcasing Jems innate ability to display sensitivity within his expression, this project serves as a delicate bridge between worlds just waiting to be explored.
