Kye Alfred Hillig – The Gods of Rita

“"The Gods of Rita" sounds so atmospheric that it feels like you are canoeing downstream a cold, mountainous river. A charming combination of acoustic Folk and Chamber Pop, with the singer's warm vocals.”

“Звучит настолько атмосферно, что создаётся ощущение, будто плывёшь на каноэ по течению вдоль холодной, горной реки. Очаровательное сочетание акустического фолка и chamber pop, а тёплый вокал исполнителя согревает и успокаивает.”

“This song tells a story of how it it feels to move from a small rural town Gore at the bottom of New Zealand to and moving alone taking my chances and moving to a bigger world, breaking into scenes in Sydney, Australia and then making the big move to music cities like to Los Angles CA, Austin TX, and Nashville TN USA and along this tough road. Miracles that can happen and the incredible people you meet you that welcome you to the inside and finding your inner circle and making real friendships that last a lifetime.”

Belot – Math

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“”Belot” is back, breaking her silence in an impressive way. Her new single follows the same rules in Pop sound, but this time is more colourful and bright too. With the addition of rich percussion and playful vocal performance, “Math” goes straight in the list of our favourites.”

Belot is a 22-year-old songwriter based in London, who is about to unleash her own distinct brand of cheeky, honest, vulnerable pop music onto planet earth. After breaking through last year with her stunning efforts “Bed”, “Kiss You”, “Harmless Fun”, which found support from BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Clara Amfo & Sian Eleri and BBC Introducing, “awkward pop” pioneer Belot keeps kicking in style as she delivers the pumping new anthem “Math” HERE via Submarine Cat / Neon Gold Records.

Continuing the same rich and vibrant alt-pop direction she has curated for herself so far, “Math” is a fun and intoxicating return from an artist always looking for the next big move to make. Filled with glittering production, lively hooks, and her own mesmerizing voice at the helm, it already feels like 2022 will be her most impactful year to date.

Speaking about the new release, she said, “Math is about the struggle of not wanting a serious relationship in your youth. You are entangled with this person and you care about them, but you just can’t find it in you, to settle down quite yet.”

Brought up in North London, living with her Mum and older brother, she was surrounded by music from a young age with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, The Beach Boys and Al Green being regularly played in the house. She’s always naturally gravitated to music, and would write songs in the bath as early as she can remember.

By the age of 8, she was teaching herself guitar in a quest to put her bath time warblings into some sort of construct. Aged 12 Belot had progressed to a laptop and recording, using Logic. Music was clearly the place she felt she could best express her emotions.

She fluked her way into the Brit School at the age of 14 and throughout her time there she started to formulate her own vision of the sort of music she wanted to make and how she wanted to be perceived as an artist.

Her musical journey continued – soaking up music of The Strokes, Phoenix, Andy Shauf, Flume, Alt J, Metronomy, early Kanye West, and the aggressive dubstep of Kill The Noise.

Belot released her debut EP, Electric Blue in the first half of 2020 just as the pandemic was beginning. Millions of streams across multiple platforms followed, while Radio 1’s Jack Saunders was a fan. Early adopters included Wonderland and The Line Of Best Fit, but this resolutely down to earth personality isn’t about to get caught up in the hype. Her upcoming EP is set to be a special moment.

“I love pop. Always have! And I’m not afraid to say it,” she exclaims. “I think for me, a pop song is something that is going to be so catchy it hurts. I’m going to wake up in the middle of the night and it’ll still be stuck in my head.”

From hereon in, at the quietest moments of the day and night, Belot is set to be your companion, shaking up your life and providing something unique, and truly addictive.

Belot will make her live debut on March 17th supporting Dora Jar at London’s Lafayette.

Laura Reznek – Blood Orange (Live)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“The song can be rightly considered by the quintessence of melodiousness, harmony and amazing atmosphere. In attractiveness and magic, she has no equal, it is so good. Voice -Laura Reznek- creates real miracles, and the instrumental part of the composition only adds to the necessary image ”

“Песня, которую по праву можно считать квинтэссенцией мелодичности, гармонии и потрясающей атмосферности. В притягательности и магии ей нет равных, настолько она хороша. Голос -Laura Reznek- творит настоящие чудеса, а инструментальная часть композиции лишь добавляет необходимых красок.”

Laura Reznek’s LP Agrimony was released October 29 on Birthday Cake Records. Agrimony charted on NACC Top 200 and was featured as Record of the Week on BBC Music Introducing.

‘Blood Orange’ came out of a fit of rage after a trip to Whole Foods. It tells the story of a team of disillusioned suits trying to figure out how to re-brand various fruit in order to make it sell, having become so disconnected from nature they forget that the fruit in its pure form is perfect as it. The simplicity of their childhood is a distant memory, one they are desperately trying to return to.

About this version:

“I felt the need to revisit a few of the songs off Agrimony, and after two years of solitude I knew I needed to revisit them with a big group of friends. ‘Blood Orange’ is the track I chose to release alongside Agrimony because I felt like it tied up a lot of the themes of the record, especially as the last song I wrote for it, and so was wanting a sort of ‘thesis statement’ as it were. As it was written so close to the start of the pandemic, I never really got to play it live and I knew it would be cathartic to do so once I got the chance to get in a big room with humans again. This group of exceptionally talented musicians are people I know from various points in my life, some of them from my time at VCC School of Music, and folks who I’ve met along the way in the Vancouver scene over the years. We recorded it live off the floor at Afterlife Studios, engineered by Olivia Quan, produced by myself and Shane Stephenson, with Raunie Mae Baker behind the camera.”

Steven Sater – Every Other Hour

Categories: Audio, Jazz, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“The vocals of Jennifer Holliday reflect special emotions like nothing else, getting into the very depths of the human soul and pulling its strings. A special track that captures bliss and love as grand as it sounds.”

“Вокал -Jennifer Holliday- как никто другой отражает особенные эмоции, попадая в самую глубь человеческой души и дёргает за ниточки её струн, словно кукловод управляет марионеткой. Особенный трек, который отражает блаженство и любовь так же грандиозно, как и звучит.”

Time-present. In confronting Molly and Ben, the young lovers are caught up short; they have no idea what happened after that fateful night he walked out. (Perhaps because, from that moment on, Molly and Ben have never felt young again.) In trying to explain how things have only deteriorated, they regale their younger selves with the tales of every “crapshoot Christmas” they’ve spent together since.

“Natural acoustic sounds and a measured vocal performance envelop every listener. Music that shows your path like a guiding star, music that comes straight from the heart, music that heals from any adversity and helps find yourself.”

“Karma” is a sublime musical journey of the soul seeking love. The emotional notes of the flute dance through paradise and sounds from the natural world envelop the listener. “Good mood and elegant concept, coming from the simplicity of sound and the artist's vocal performance. Also combined with a deep, but at the same time light, philosophical tone. Ideal choice to start your day, maintain strength and energy!”

“Очень доброе настроение и изящная концепция, в которой заключены простота подачи и исполнения вокалиста вкупе с глубоким, но при этом лёгким, философским подтекстом. Идеальный вариант для начала любого дня и поддержания силы и бодрости духа!”

Artist said about this song:

"I wrote this song thinking about my friends I don't see as often as I used to. I have tunnel vision, and I find I sometimes forget to look up from what I'm working on. This song for me is both an affirmation and a reminder for me to make time for the people that I care about. In a pandemic world, this is even more important."
