Messergeist – Ways (Radio Mix)
“Imagine that your visibility range expands behind the elusive lights outside of your car windows. You hear the roar of the engine and the melodic rhythm of Techno & House that show you the way. You already have everything you need.”
“Представьте, как за ускользающими и сменяющих друг друга огней за окнами вашего автомобиля открывается невидимый ранее горизонт событий. Вы слышите рёв мотора и мелодичный ритм techno & house, которые указывают вам путь. Всё, что вам нужно, у вас уже есть. Осталось только не пропустить свой поворот.”

Swiss melodic techno / progressive house producer Messergeist is back with a dark, powerful yet very melancholic single entitled “Ways”. This radio mix is starting with a long and melodic drop, before being propelled in a fast night-drive traveling through lights on roads that lead to places you’ll probably feel confortable in. Supported by a very unique and trippy video filmed through the highway and avenues of Geneva, Switzerland, this track won’t probably leave you without a good feeling and an urgent need to dance while driving.

Belot – Math
“”Belot” is back, breaking her silence in an impressive way. Her new single follows the same rules in Pop sound, but this time is more colourful and bright too. With the addition of rich percussion and playful vocal performance, “Math” goes straight in the list of our favourites.”

Belot is a 22-year-old songwriter based in London, who is about to unleash her own distinct brand of cheeky, honest, vulnerable pop music onto planet earth. After breaking through last year with her stunning efforts “Bed”, “Kiss You”, “Harmless Fun”, which found support from BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Clara Amfo & Sian Eleri and BBC Introducing, “awkward pop” pioneer Belot keeps kicking in style as she delivers the pumping new anthem “Math” HERE via Submarine Cat / Neon Gold Records.
Continuing the same rich and vibrant alt-pop direction she has curated for herself so far, “Math” is a fun and intoxicating return from an artist always looking for the next big move to make. Filled with glittering production, lively hooks, and her own mesmerizing voice at the helm, it already feels like 2022 will be her most impactful year to date.
Speaking about the new release, she said, “Math is about the struggle of not wanting a serious relationship in your youth. You are entangled with this person and you care about them, but you just can’t find it in you, to settle down quite yet.”
Brought up in North London, living with her Mum and older brother, she was surrounded by music from a young age with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, The Beach Boys and Al Green being regularly played in the house. She’s always naturally gravitated to music, and would write songs in the bath as early as she can remember.
By the age of 8, she was teaching herself guitar in a quest to put her bath time warblings into some sort of construct. Aged 12 Belot had progressed to a laptop and recording, using Logic. Music was clearly the place she felt she could best express her emotions.
She fluked her way into the Brit School at the age of 14 and throughout her time there she started to formulate her own vision of the sort of music she wanted to make and how she wanted to be perceived as an artist.
Her musical journey continued – soaking up music of The Strokes, Phoenix, Andy Shauf, Flume, Alt J, Metronomy, early Kanye West, and the aggressive dubstep of Kill The Noise.
Belot released her debut EP, Electric Blue in the first half of 2020 just as the pandemic was beginning. Millions of streams across multiple platforms followed, while Radio 1’s Jack Saunders was a fan. Early adopters included Wonderland and The Line Of Best Fit, but this resolutely down to earth personality isn’t about to get caught up in the hype. Her upcoming EP is set to be a special moment.
“I love pop. Always have! And I’m not afraid to say it,” she exclaims. “I think for me, a pop song is something that is going to be so catchy it hurts. I’m going to wake up in the middle of the night and it’ll still be stuck in my head.”
From hereon in, at the quietest moments of the day and night, Belot is set to be your companion, shaking up your life and providing something unique, and truly addictive.
Belot will make her live debut on March 17th supporting Dora Jar at London’s Lafayette.

SeepeopleS – Two Silhouettes
“Acoustic Folk has always been highly regarded even by the most sophisticated music lovers and such songs leave an indelible mark on the memory, occupying the first places in the choices of the listeners. Fascinating beauty, revealed after every note!”
“Акустический фолк всегда в почёте даже у самых искушённых меломанов и подобные песни оставляют неизгладимый след в памяти, занимая в дискографиях слушателей самые первые места. Красота в каждой ноте, которая завораживает и цепляет!”

The anti-genre indie pranksters SeepeopleS have been a band for 22 years. The band, which is the brainchild of bandleader/songwriter/producer Will Bradford, has released 5 full length albums and 2 EPs on their own imprint, RascalZRecordZ. It would be an accurate statement to say that there isn’t a single band on the planet that covers as much ground musically, or traverses through as many musical universes as SeepeopleS does. Musicians have long since taken notice and members of Morphine, Spearhead, Dave Matthews Band (Tim Reynolds), and even members of Parliament/Funkadelic are featured on previous albums. All seven records were co-produced by Will Holland (Pixies, New Pornographers, Dead Can Dance) The band has toured ceaselessly, playing over 1500 shows in 46 states during their long career. Most importantly, SeepeopleS features songwriting that is the definition of timelessness and lyrically have been busy writing the most important musical anthems of our generation. It may be long after our lifetimes before this band gets their due, but they certainly will. Nothing this good can remain hidden forever.
As far as “hype” goes, the band was recently nominated for “Best Live Act” for the 2016 New England Music Awards. Other nominations include “Best New Artist” (Relix Magazine Awards 2007).The band has shared the stage and toured with such acts as Death Cab for Cutie, Franz Ferdinand, Cracker, De La Soul, The Pharcyde, Ben Harper, Kula Shaker, Presidents of the United States and have even had Jon Fishman (Phish) join the band for a SeepeopleS set during a Bernie Sanders rally. They have been featured in Paste Magazine, Datyrotter, Pop Matters, Magnet, Exclaim, High Times, Relix. DRUM Magazine, Blue Walrus and Daytrotter, to name a short few. Their music has been used on Judging Amy (TNT), The Gates (ABC), and in feature films such as ‘Canvasman,’ and ‘Wheels Over Paradise,’ as well as on the Discovery Channel and NASCAR broadcasts. They provided most of the music for the Headcount (voting registration) documentary ‘Call To Action’ and have played CMJ, SXSW, as well as a major music festivals’ Wakarusa, Trinumeral, Bear Creek, Smilefest and Allgood Music Festivals. In 2017 SeepeopleS released the “New American Dream” music video animated by Pete List (Celebrity Death Match/MTV, Marilyn Manson). The video would end up being nominated for “Best Video” for the Independent Music Awards in 2018, and won a Pixie award for the animator for “Best Short Video,” in the same year. Also in 2018, unfortunately, Facebook and Instagram banned the video and removed the video from their platforms, sealing the band’s place forever as a true underground cult favorite and confirming their role as artistic provacateurs. Currently SeepeopleS is back in the studio finishing their eighth studio release entitled Field Guide For Survival In This Dying World (RascalZRecordZ 2021).

Laura Reznek – Blood Orange (Live)
“The song can be rightly considered by the quintessence of melodiousness, harmony and amazing atmosphere. In attractiveness and magic, she has no equal, it is so good. Voice -Laura Reznek- creates real miracles, and the instrumental part of the composition only adds to the necessary image ”
“Песня, которую по праву можно считать квинтэссенцией мелодичности, гармонии и потрясающей атмосферности. В притягательности и магии ей нет равных, настолько она хороша. Голос -Laura Reznek- творит настоящие чудеса, а инструментальная часть композиции лишь добавляет необходимых красок.”

Laura Reznek’s LP Agrimony was released October 29 on Birthday Cake Records. Agrimony charted on NACC Top 200 and was featured as Record of the Week on BBC Music Introducing.
‘Blood Orange’ came out of a fit of rage after a trip to Whole Foods. It tells the story of a team of disillusioned suits trying to figure out how to re-brand various fruit in order to make it sell, having become so disconnected from nature they forget that the fruit in its pure form is perfect as it. The simplicity of their childhood is a distant memory, one they are desperately trying to return to.
About this version:
“I felt the need to revisit a few of the songs off Agrimony, and after two years of solitude I knew I needed to revisit them with a big group of friends. ‘Blood Orange’ is the track I chose to release alongside Agrimony because I felt like it tied up a lot of the themes of the record, especially as the last song I wrote for it, and so was wanting a sort of ‘thesis statement’ as it were. As it was written so close to the start of the pandemic, I never really got to play it live and I knew it would be cathartic to do so once I got the chance to get in a big room with humans again. This group of exceptionally talented musicians are people I know from various points in my life, some of them from my time at VCC School of Music, and folks who I’ve met along the way in the Vancouver scene over the years. We recorded it live off the floor at Afterlife Studios, engineered by Olivia Quan, produced by myself and Shane Stephenson, with Raunie Mae Baker behind the camera.”

Kat Penkin – Checkmate
“”Kat Penkin” grabs the opportunity to share her feelings through sound and also escape from a toxic environment. An interesting combination of Electro Pop and R&B patterns, unfold in slow progression for a strongly influencive result. Also her fragile voice communicates the message quite effectively.”
-Nagamag.com
Today Kat Penkin releases the music video for ‘Checkmate’, the title track from her Ultra Records debut EP. Bringing flavours of British soul to the laidback pop ballad the video perfectly depicts the harrowing narrative of the single.
https://www.instagram.com/katpenkin
Kat explains; ‘Unfortunately, the ‘checkmate’ music video is based on a real story of an unhealthy love, suffocating 2 people who don’t know how to leave. Being able to bring this to life and work on such an intimate level with a wondering team was extremely empowering and I’m really grateful to have the opportunity to create something like this.’
Born in Devon, raised in Perth, Australia, and now based in Brighton, Kat has been hard at work writing and developing her nostalgic, but fresh sound. Blending relatable lyrics with Pop, R&B and soulful influences, her music is a unique melting pot of sensibility and sass.
Fostering a community of loyal fans and tastemaker support through her single releases last year Kat is on the rise and introduced her debut EP to the world in February this year. While none of us need reminding of the hellscape of lockdown, Kat’s tongue-in-cheek lyricism offers candid, witty insights into what life was like during that time. The debut EP ‘Checkmate’ is a taste of what’s to come for this exciting rising star. The six-track collection showcases Kat’s ability to shapeshift from raw balladry to disco-inspired bangers and back again. Expect the unexpected as Kat steps into the spotlight.

Join us in celebrating the official music video release for Cookin.
Chicago-based filmmaker and musician Cam Be and singer/songwriter Peter Jericho launch the video for their funk-inspired tune that marries both the retro sound of the 70’s to the importance of plant-based eating.
The video features multi-disciplinary artist Starlotta “Star” Milan whose work in and around advocacy for plant-based eating dates back 20 years.
The inspiration for the video came through co-collaboration between Be and Milan who worked together to prepare a real vegan recipe for audiences to try at home.
Be, a long-time champion of health and wellness for underserved communities believes, “Healthy eating options should be available to Black communities everywhere…and seeing this video could inspire someone to try something new.”
Milan, also the Director of Art at the Sister Survivor Network, is on a mission to transform food deserts into oases of physical nutrition and spiritual sustainability.
A vocal and active advocate of health and wellness in Black communities, Milan feels, “It is my responsibility to cultivate a culture around food and sustainability.”
The video is directed by the screenwriter and self-published author Briana Clearly whose work focuses on the belief that Black Womxn and other marginalized people should own their own narratives, in front of, and behind the camera.
Mista Savona, Clinton Fearon, Havana Meets Kingston – The Human Chain
“A very important Reggae song about the social vicious circle that each of us gets into. All that is needed for rescue is to ease the tension in the chain of an endless series of events and let warmth and love to shine.”
“Очень важная, социальная песня в жанре reggae о порочном круге, в который попадают каждый из нас. Всё, что нужно для освобождения, это ослабить напряжение в цепи бесконечной череды событий и впустить в дом тепло и любовь.”
-Nagamag.com
On March 9, Cumbancha releases the single “The Human Chain” featuring Clinton Fearon, one Jamaican music’s greatest living legends. “The Human Chain” is from the upcoming album Havana Meets Kingston Part 2, which will be released in on June 3, 2022 by Baco Records in Europe, ABC Music in Australia and New Zealand and Cumbancha in the US, Canada, Latin America and the rest of the world.
Backed by an all-star band that includes Cuban trumpeter Julito Padrón (Irakere) along with Jamaican legends Sly Dunbar on drums, the late Robbie Shakespeare on bass and the late Winston “Bopee” Bowen on guitar, “The Human Chain” is a powerful and uplifting rocksteady roots anthem about the looming threats to humanity.
Fearon, an icon of Jamaican music who was the lead singer for the legendary band The Gladiators, sings in his trademark gravel-toned and soulful voice, “A chain is only as strong / As its weakest link / Greed and poverty / Weaken the chain / Now is the time to reflect / On what’s gone wrong / With the human chain.”
The single is accompanied by an epic music video filmed on the rooftop of a skyscraper in Fearon’s current home in Seattle interspersed with stirring clips of protest and conflict drawn straight from the headlines. The sixth single to be released so far from the upcoming Havana Meets Kingston Part 2 album, “The Human Chain” offers a stark warning and an uplifting message of hope that we can come together to strengthen the ties that bind us all.
While connected by common African roots and colonial histories, the music of Cuba and Jamaica have traveled largely in separate lanes. Their influence on the music of the world has been immeasurable, but their influence on each other has been less evident. It took an Australian to bring these two rich musical cultures together. Melbourne-based producer and musician Jake Savona had already fallen in love with the music of Jamaica, having released a string of successful reggae and dub albums under his stage name Mista Savona. Eventually, Savona discovered Cuban music, and in 2015, he received a grant from the Australian Council that funded the ambitious and groundbreaking Havana Meets Kingston project. Savona traveled to Havana with a group of top Jamaican musicians, including the legendary Sly & Robbie (drummer Sly Dunbar and bassist Robbie Shakespeare), and they began recording in the iconic EGREM Studio where Buena Vista Social Club and countless other legendary records have been produced. More sessions followed, other guests were invited, and after years of painstaking effort, the first volume of Mista Savona Presents Havana Meets Kingston was released in 2017 to worldwide acclaim.
Havana Meets Kingston Part 2 also features a lineup of incredible Jamaican and Cuban talent. including Jamaican stars Clinton Fearon, Randy Valentine, Prince Alla and Micah Shemaiah, Cuban talents Barbarito Torres, Changuito, Brenda Navarette, Solis, Beatriz Marquez, and many more.
Saafi Brothers – Mantra Dub
“Dubby Basslines with awesome atmospheric Strings and Dreamy sequences. Saafi brothers delivers a gateway to another musical psychedelic experience. Packed with percussion and great sound design ”
-Nagamag.com
Make Pictures With The Sound’ is the brand new album by the Saafi Brothers on UK label Liquid Sound Design.
The release title is inspired by a quote from legendary British music producer John Leckie, who lends his voice on opening track ‘Beautiful Satellite’. With this album the Saafi Brothers do just that; make pictures with the sound, taking us on a breathtaking journey through their universe of sound, spiralling out from their deep roots in the Psychedelic Dub genre.
Keeping alive the Saafi Brothers’ reputation for chilled out eclecticism, the musical and emotional range for which they are renowned is very much in evidence here. From the rainforest tinged Dub Funk of ‘Ritualized Space’, through the epic deep Techno Sci-Fi soundscape of ‘In Far Away Places’ to the wigged out Acid House of ‘The Possibility of Change’, the album has much to offer for any connoisseur of contemporary Electronica.’
