Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“Crystal vocals with big chord piano and guitar parts. Sounds like an anthem of sorts, I can feel the crowed going mad with this one when played. I t have a lot of subtle parts, that can be used in many different styles, different versions, love when song opens the door of another interpretation, it is inspirational for a musician and a producer. ”

Empowering multi-platinum singer songwriter Mimoza returns with a new single. Entitled “Madly”, the romantic pastel-dipped pop anthem explores self-love, knowing your worth, and never settling for second best. “Madly” encompasses an intense array of deep emotions such as pain, heart, and strength all in one record. Featuring emotive piano chords and swelling synths under Mimoza’s striking melodies and signature soul-drenched vocals, “Madly” is the perfect soundtrack of self love.

Self love has always been a huge topic close to Mimoza’s heart. With her last big record “Young Queen”, she honored her roots and mother who raised her to think highly of herself. These important values pertaining to self love and respect are once again accentuated in “Madly”. Mimoza, who directed and produced the stunning music video for “Maldy” takes modern romance to another level.

On the video, Mimoza confides, “My concept for the video was ‘modern romance.’ I think we often romanticize how beautiful life would be if that one person fell in love with us but what if we romanticized falling in love with ourselves first?” Mimoza teaches us to still wear a crown, even with a broken heart and shows us once again that the most important relationship is the one we have with ourselves.

Mimoza is signed to Universal Music Group and has over 100 million streams across platforms. She further co-wrote the multi-platinum Billboard charting single “Kings & Queens” by Ava Max.

JORDI UP LATE – HOAX

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“It starts great, with beautiful electronics, melodies and themes, such a good drive, with a lot of retro synth sequences and just as a amazing vocals on top of everything. Modern but with a huge homage to the old electronic music. ”

-Nagamag.com

Today, LA-based electropop artist & producer Jordi Up Late is back with a brand new single entitled “HOAX.”

Speaking on her latest track, she wrote:

“I’ve never thought of myself as a particularly sweet or bubbly person. I get moody and I get annoyed and I need space. So when I found myself in a relationship with a happy go lucky type, the personality imbalance created a creeping disillusionment. The tension festered over time into my feeling he was either fake or emotionally one dimensional. Either way the relationship became a ‘hoax’ and disintegration was inevitable.

The lyrics and concept flowed easily after I created the synth riff and the backbone of the song. After producing the rest of the track, I brought on BRUX, an electronic powerhouse, to co-produce and bring it home. Then I passed it on to Amy Dragon to master. From conception to finish, ‘HOAX’ is a female-engineered single.”

Jordi Up Late recently signed with WRKSHP, a new music-based lifestyle company kickstarted by Multi-Platinum, Grammy-Winning producer Che Pope and serial entrepreneur Dan Gilbert, headquartered in Detroit. She is set to release more new music this year.

Jagger – Melancholic

“Lush piano with just as amazing vocals. Rhythm pars are very subtle, but they fits beautifully in the mood of the song. Arrangement is good as it gets, love the string part at the end, it closes the song perfectly. ”

-Nagamag.com

Melancholic is a song about losing yourself, and feeling like you’re about to give up. Jagger wrote the line “I’m in your arms but I can’t feel your touch”, thinking about how that line is a message to someone you love trying to explain how you feel. “Just let me be melancholy” is supposed to give off the feeling of letting go and just letting yourself feel “melancholy” or melancholic. The song title being Melancholic was supposed to be a little ironic as the feeling being described is a lot stronger than melancholy. This song for anyone who struggles with their mental health, relationship with themselves, or is just going through something right now. The hope is for everyone who hears this song uses it as inspiration, and feels more hopeful and uplifted after listening.

“A bit different than what I expected. Apart of strange but beautiful vocals and a lot of jazz influenced piano parts, different styles, but arranged great. Love the piano solo in the middle, pure jazz mood on the rainy day, while staying at home with a good book and music to relax to in the background. ”

“Very positive vibe, cross between funk, house, disco with a modern production and beautiful vocals. You can feel the breeze while driving with an open window on a sunset, near the ocean. Did not expected to be a rap part, because of the general style of the song, but it fits so good, changing the pace of the song, before coming back to basic verse. ”

Dieter van der Westen – Erie Canal

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Love this kind of smooth country song, full of nostalgia and mood that makes you think of past times. Great vocals and a guitar that goes with them. I can feel the autumn on this one, with leaves falling down while walking a dog in the park with this as a soundtrack.”

-Nagamag.com

The popular song "Low Bridge, Everybody Down" was written by Thomas S. Allen (although some have questioned its origins [1]), recorded in 1912,[2] and published by F.B. Haviland Publishing Company in 1913.[3] It was written after the construction of the New York State Barge Canal, which would replace the Erie Canal, was well underway, furthering the change from mule power to engine power, raising the speed of traffic. Also known as "Fifteen Years on the Erie Canal", "Fifteen Miles on the Erie Canal", "Erie Canal Song", "Erie Barge Canal", and "Mule Named Sal", the song memorializes the years from 1825 to 1880 when the mule barges made boomtowns out of Utica, Rome, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo, and transformed New York into the Empire State.

The music cover published in 1913 depicts a boy on a mule getting down to pass under a bridge, but the reference to "low bridge" in the song refers to travelers who would typically ride on top of the boats. The low bridges would require them to get down out of the way to allow safe passage under a bridge.

Recordings

Early 20th century recordings of the song include ones by Billy Murray, Vernon Dalhart, and Jack Narz. The song has become part of the folk repertoire, recorded by folksingers like Glenn Yarborough, Pete Seeger and the Weavers, The Kingston Trio, the children's series VeggieTales, and artists like the Sons of the Pioneers. Dan Zanes included it on a children's album with Suzanne Vega singing lead. Bruce Springsteen recorded the song on his 2006 album We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions. The cartoon series Animaniacs parodied "Low Bridge" with their song about the Panama Canal. The lyrics are also the text of the book The Erie Canal (1970), illustrated by Peter Spier.

Leah Weller – Freedom

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“Her vocals are beautiful, full with layers, deep, full of different vibes, depending of the verse of chorus lines, with just amazing string that follows. Bass line have a soul of its own, with the old school-ish rhythm section, fits perfectly with her vocals. Love the break, change of pace, with different spoken language, that it comes back with a verse, just great. ”

-Nagamag.com

Leah Weller uses the springboard of mindfulness, levity and the glowing response to her newest music by releasing the nourishing, swaying soul of her debut album’s title track: Freedom.

Embroidered with threads of singing strings, warm blankets of brass and Weller’s own vocals cutting through the wall of sound with crystalline clarity, the song’s story is unambiguously relatable. Freedom arrived on the outswing of the singer-songwriter’s twenties, a hectic decade’s strands pulling together in the alternate, head spinning universe of societal shutdown and the forming of new, grown-up paths, each built stronger with the benefit experience.

Reflecting on the irresistible, richly-orchestrated song, she says: “Freedom is one song that developed through lockdown, a time that was so tough for so many people and I feel no nostalgia for. I read a book called ‘Letting Go’ which dealt with being aware of our consciousness, just one of many similar I’ve been inspired by, where authors deal with the idea of us freeing ourselves from our egoic minds. Like then, I still like the idea of this sense of freedom, especially during a lockdown.”

Announcing the release of her first album with the cultured, main stage soul of Wonder at the beginning of August, Freedom’s twelve tracks link arms and form a protective circle around Weller and anyone else unshackled, or looking to break free of the chains of uncertainty. Philosophical, inspired and unafraid, united with the support of producer and key writing collaborator, Steve Craddock, Weller’s self-belief grew during recording sessions that spanned 2020 and 2021 between studios in Surrey and Devon.

The single pushes the singer-songwriter one square closer to the release of her first long-player on Fri 21 October 2022 with Modern Sky UK.
