Rosalie – Hologram Refracted (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Many things in life aren't as they look like. Fake images and behaviours can be almost everywhere around us. A selected song from Rosalie can help you realise this truth or probably find out your own true story. Adult Contemporary mood at its best, guided by the artist's unique ghostly-like voice!”

-Nagamag.com

Artist shared few words with nagamag about this song:

"Hologram Refracted is the alt version of my latest pop single Hologram. It's strips away the electronic drums and more commercial pop dressings of the original version to put a spotlight on the singer-songwriter soul of the song. This one is a little extra special to me because it's the first track I'm releasing that I've produced myself. In a full circle moment, I made it while quarantining in my childhood bedroom. It's the same room I learned how to play guitar at 16. The room I fell in love with music. The room where I wrote my first song. And now the room where I made my self-produced release."

Jeni Schapire – Libby (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Blogwave, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“Very interesting low Bpm Dark wave release from Jeni Schapire. The track "Libby" starts with a smooth intro and goes on with some unexpected elusive vocals. Sometimes, great music appears all of a sudden, but in fact it was always present.”

-Nagamag.com

Tennessee-based Jeni Schapire shares her story through song and is ready to share the gorgeous, cinematic single "Libby." Hailing from Princeton, New Jersey, Jeni now calls Tennessee home –a fitting place for the rising artist and producer whose sound is a unique blend of folk-pop that leans into the electronic and cinematic sphere.

Jeni caught Billboard's attention with her self-produced single "Casual" (2020) from her What's In A Name EP, released last year. Billboard wrote, "There's something heart-rending about Jeni Schapire's voice as she sings...The incisive songwriting only stands to bolster Schapire's stunning vocals, as she emotes through every syllable of the heart-breaking song."

In her new self-produced single "Libby," dark, echoing synths and gorgeous reverberating vocals make you feel some type of way. "Libby" is a slow burner with understated but impactful production, which leans into a moody, cinematic space. The low-key nature of the soundscape paves a way for Jeni's beautiful words about the memories of her grandmother.

https://www.jenischapire.com/

She shares, "When I was 15, I took a flight by myself for the very first time and visited my grandparents for a magical Minnesota summer. As she aged, my grandmother lost her sight. So, during this trip I sat on their couch and read Their Eyes Were Watching God aloud to her. In the novel, the protagonist begins to discover her hopes and dreams while lying under a pear tree. When I think about my grandma, Libby, many years after she died, I come back to this memory over and over. I’ve memorized every detail of us sitting in that living room. The lyrics to 'Libby' are all those details. I wrote them down after a dream where I was back there, reading about coming of age under a pear tree. It felt so real that the song shaped itself almost immediately. And all these years later, I think of their couch as my pear tree. Helping me grow and find out who I was supposed to be."

"she emotes through every syllable of the heart-breaking song." - Billboard

"one of our favorite new discoveries this year" - Bsides & Badlands

"textured and atmospheric" - AudioFemme

"melodies that gently soar across sonic space" - Imperfect Fifth

Jeni began performing when she was 15 under the moniker, Jennifer Rae. However, she soon came to realize that name didn’t truly reflect who she was as a songwriter. To step into her authentic identity as an artist meant a reclamation of her name: Jeni Schapire. From this reflection, her EP, What's In A Name, was born. The EP was crafted out of necessity and stepping into her own identity. Jeni shares, "It's been a long journey. Like a lot of queer folks, it took a long time to even be honest with myself. Learning to embrace my queerness has been crucial to feeling like my truest self and is weaved into the storytelling in these songs."

"Name is identity—an often subconscious influence into how you perceive your place in the world. So what is in a name—if it’s not yours?" she adds. "What is your place in the world—if it’s not an authentic reflection of who you really are?" As Jeni powerfully steps into her artistry, her own story, her own name, and her own identity, you are invited to do the same.

Bratři – Running (official video) (Video)

Categories: Techno, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , , |

“Feel the speed of Bpm conquering your body and your heart beat accelerating from these Techno sound reefs. The exlposive mix from Bratři is already blasting out from your sound system or at least keeps you company while rushing for your daily duties.”

-Nagamag.com

The electronic duo Bratři (i.e. Brothers) in their new single Running offer an image of an escape from the pandemic chaos. The twins Ondřej and Jiří Veselý used vocals for the first time, and the other ingredients are sprinkled with an accurate and effective ratio. They combine tension, techno and slightly raw straightforwardness. Run with Bratři and head off from the lockdown trap.

Multilink: https://bit.ly/runningTUNE

For the last single before the autumn release of the full album, Bratři chose a song with vocals. “Our friends from the band Teepee also have a bit of a share in Running. We did a remix for their song Parallel World and we liked their vocals so much that we also used it for Running. At the same time, we wanted to leave our sound and dance vibe,” says Jirka and Ondra adds what makes the song different from the previous singles Signal and Rise. “During the autumn lockdown, we moved to a small cottage surrounded by forests and pure nature, where we could work in peace during the week and escape a little from the stereotypes of the big city. The first motives were created here and I think that the forests and pure nature can be felt in Running.”

Video: https://youtu.be/kLSmFlNJ9Bw

The whole single is shrouded in fog, which gives it a kind of tension. “We added hope and a positive mood to Running at the same time. But we are certainly influenced by the current pandemic in our work now, and this is exactly the result of the current situation. Escape, lockdown crisis and hope.”

https://www.instagram.com/bratri_official/

Bratři are a new face on the Czech electronic music scene. Twins Jiří and Ondřej conceived the music project, which oscillates around a combination of catchy electronic dance, techno and ambient. The central driving forces are Jiři’s live percussion/drum beats and the melodic motives and sequences created by Ondřej on analogue and modular synthesizers, two captivating streams converging on stage in one uncompromising flow of electrifying energy.

In 2017 Bratři released their first EP Monster and followed it up in 2018 with a new single called Manual. Since their inception in 2016, Bratři have played a large number of concerts and festivals; Colours of Ostrava, Rock For People, Beseda u Bigbítu, to name but a few. They have also supported artists such as Jan Blomqvist, Rone, Chrome Sparks and in March 2019 opened for Jon Hopkins at the Forum Karlín. In April 2019 they released a single and music video called Monarch and took part in the showcase festival Tallinn Music Week, where their liveset was chosen among the TOP 10 live acts. In July 2019 Bratři played to much success at the prestigious Chateau Perché Festival in France. From September 2019 to February 2020 Bratři took part in various showcases, namely Nouvelle Prague, BUSH, MENT, and Eurosonic. In February 2020 Bratři commenced work on their debut album.

A Crystal Clear Moment – Close My Eyes (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Acoustic, delicate, sythesis with soft melodic patterns. Sit comfortably on your bed, close your eyes and concentrate on that heartwarming voice. The ultimate relaxing song, which cannot leave you unaffected.”

-Nagamag.com

Stockholm based A Crystal Clear Moment drops the debut album Arms Remain Open. The mix of radio-ready and feel-good singles juxtaposed against dark melancholy tracks makes it a retro-modern pop album with LP format dynamics and a meaningful story to tell. The beautiful piano ballad Close My Eyes was released all without promotion before ACCM signed with ALOADED on PR. It truly deserves a better fate and a new chance for the album release next week!

A Crystal Clear Moment was founded by Stockholm’s Rickard Abrahamsson. By his side he has an acclaimed collective of musicians, engineers, designers, directors and cinematographers. The debut album Arms Remain Open due March 26 has a strong sense of finding inner peace and being true to yourself.

The first single Close My Eyes is a low key piano ballad and When You Were Young is an upbeat radio-ready single with an energetic synth bass. Once Again is a roadtrip soundtrack under a hot California sunshine and A Better Day is a groovy love story dressed in denim tailor-made for American radio. The rest of the story adds a darker melancholy and creates an album dynamic reminiscent of traditional albums like in the old days. It tells a story.

With its female lead vocals from starlet Harper Diaz, ACCM is musically connected to artists like Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift or Shelby Lynne. These iconic women all display the mix of moods that range from bright, sunny and radio-ready to dark, moody and melancholic. It’s hard to believe ACCM is a Swedish project. The final touch was a supreme mastering in New York by legendary Scott Hull who has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, David Bowie and many more.

SJUR, Lovespeake – Me In The Middle (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“Colaborative work that can positively affect every listener. It demonstrates the truth that no progress can be achieved without effort, persistence and also patience. Inspirational singing, which motivates you to pursue the divine.”

If there’s one word that captures the essence of “Me in The Middle” it has to be the word motivation, and this music video sums it all up for us visually. We find SJUR amidst snow covered mountains hiking to the top with his DJ set, whilst Nordic gymnast champion Odin Kalvø tries to master a new tricky choreography. Trying to show the viewers different forms of achievement, SJUR hopes this will make you motivated enough to go that extra mile. Or try that acrobatic flip. The video is directed by Peter Bruteig.

Due to the pandemic the video shoot was postponed again and again and again. And then again. Initially the team wanted to feature a professional swimmer, but due to restrictions this turned out to be impossible. So, when going a second round on what else could be fun to involve gymnastics ended up being an easy choice as it’s a sport SJUR has been dabbling with himself. He has personally felt how the motivation and self-esteem can vary within a field like this which made him personally invested in this project. The beautiful mountains and view from the top of Midtsæterfjellet was of course a bonus too.

“It was quite fun to film this music video. Absolutely magical. Wish I had my downhill skis with me so that I could ride down again» – SJUR.

Odin is captain of the Norwegian national men’s gymnastics team and won the Nordic championship in 2018. When asked how important music if for him whilst training he shares that it would be impossible for him to go through a long training session without it. It’s the first time he takes part in a music video and gets to share his passion accompanied by music in this way.

“The shoot went very well! It was fun to see how professional the set up was. The gymnastic turn that I managed at the end of the video is a piece that is very stressful on the body and I only had a few in me. I’m excited that it turned out the exact way I wanted it too” – Odin Kalvø.

Bjorn Rydhog – I Don’t Wanna Be Alone (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Blogwave, Blogwave Features, Features, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“There are moments we feel boredom and loneliness in a totally decaying world. This is the right time to pick some fine music and give ourselves a breath of hope. Bjorn Rydhog is here to offer his best work for this purpose. Don't miss his new single "I Don't Wanna Be Alone".”

-Nagamag.com

Together with producer Johan Sigerud (JRSS) and co-writer Olof Gråhamn, Bjorn Rydhog continues to take his melodic indie pop into an electronic and beat-based realm. Melancholic progressions are blended with a modern retro sound inspired by M83 and The Weeknd. A logical continuation of their previous collaboration, the single ‘Just to Be with You’, which was released in 2020 and was picked up by Swedish radio.

"The single ‘I Don’t Wanna Be Alone’ shows an electronic direction I’m currently exploring. The tracks of the song were recorded separately at our different homes. I guess the creation process, as well as the theme of the song, reflect the distant and lonely, but also creative times we currently live in”.

Scrapp Deleon – No Lie (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Hip-Hop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Two minutes of Gangsta Rap are enough to stimulate your mind. Scrapp Deleon has made his best try to receive some nice critics and he deserves it. That fat kick and the mystic underground atmosphere raise further up the overall track level.”

-Nagamag.com

ABOUT THE ARTIST

“Making music has always been my number one goal in life. I’ve been working in the studio for so long now, and being able to share it with my fans now is really exciting, after all the support and love they’ve given me through the years,” said DeLeon. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday than dropping ‘No Lie’ and performing shows in my city during NBA All-Star Weekend.”

Scrapp DeLeon made his formal debut in the music space as a member of the early 2000s rap group Da Razkalz Cru. DeLeon – along with his brother Sas and his cousin, the late rapper Dolla – worked alongside artists like Diddy, Missy Elliot, BattleCat, Akon and Jazzie Pha, and later went on tour with the hip-hop group B2K.

After Da Razkalz Cru disbanded, DeLeon continued to work on music, featuring on “The World Is Mine” in 2010 off of Lloyd’s album, Southern Xposure 8. He also featured as a recurring, then main, cast member on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, which showcased him building his career, working on unreleased music in the studio and working for SAS as his manager.

In recent years, DeLeon has become an outspoken champion for prison reform due to his own experiences, having been sentenced to five years in prison and fifteen years of probation for marijuana trafficking charges. In 2019 he partnered with fellow Atlanta rapper T.I. to post bail for 23 people who would have spent Easter behind bars and has spoken on panels alongside prominent activists including Cynthia Brown on the importance of helping those released from prison transition back into the workforce.

ABOUT THE SONG

Hip-hop artist Scrapp DeLeon announced the release of his brand-new single, “No Lie.” The track, produced by Mykemadedetbeat, marks the beginning of a new chapter in the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star’s career as he gears up to release new music this year.
