"This piece is inspired by four paintings in the Storms and Shipwrecks exhibition at Musee de la Vie Romantique in Paris. I wanted to take the listener on a journey influenced by Victor Hugo's life of art.
The moment I saw these paintings, I was filled with emotion and melodic ideas. I spent the next hours hidden away with a keyboard and manuscript putting to paper the inspiration I felt. I tried to transmit everything- the moment of calm walking between paintings that got stormier and stormier, the colours, the passion."
