Mr. Dawzo – Hypergalactic Overdrive (Video)

Categories: Blogwave, Features, Synthwave Features, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

Mr. Dawzo travels back in time to the ’80s with the instrumental Synthwave Anthem Hypergalactic Overdrive. The right retro vibes coming along with a good synthwave video and is hard to resinst its positive vibes. Timeless!

About the artist:
Mr. Dawzo is a breath of fresh air within the electronic community. The San Diego resident has been crafting a sound rooted mostly in the digital world, with computer generated vocals and Retrowave instrumentation galore. It has been a wild ride for the up-and-coming producer, who has moved across the experimental spectrum of EDM production to nail a style that is all his own while bringing the electronic community back to its roots. Chords that seem ripped from an Atari console are captured with the energy of an early Black Sabbath record. While Mr. Dawzo sticks to his guns, he never limits himself and he’s always seeking out new and innovative sounds.

With the debut of an ambitious new single, Hypergalactic Overdrive, his Synthwave muscles get to flex with boundless potential. An upbeat melody with a tropical undertone, the song feels fresh yet familiar, something Mr. Dawzo has looked to perfect in recent years. Man created everything we utilize in music and the digital soundscape, so the emotional core has always been a point of emphasis for him during this process. Hypergalactic Overdrive builds off his debut five-track EP beautifully, and establishes Mr. Dawzo’s name firmly in the scene for years to come!

Dax – BLACK LIVES MATTER (Official Music Video)

Categories: Features, Rock, Songwriter Features, Video|Tags: , , |

Remember when we were kids and didn’t see color? A song meant to bring everyone together during these tough times of racial tension.

Lyrics:
I can’t breathe
I can’t breathe
ay ya
I can’t breathe

This a (r)evolution (i)n (o)ur (t)ime everybody’s fighting
change coming, YES!
that’s why it’s an acronym for riot
Everybody has a voice don’t you dare stay silent
if you say nothing you are an accessory to violence
let these words dry the tears of my people who are crying we can bring back hope but not people that are dying
This is what happens when the people you’ve oppressed ask for change in a country that they built but you ignored and deny it
This for Sandra Bland, George Floyd, and every single family police brutality has intervened in and destroyed
couple bad cop couple can’t define all you other boys so every good COP needs to stand up and make noise
Black, white, asain doesn’t matter cause we can’t avoid so let’s all come together join hands and yes get annoyed at people who believe racism makes sense in a country built off minority slave work employed
see nobodies born racist man it’s something you learn
Deep rooted in your brain from the day of your birth
I think it’s time that we repair All of the bridges we’ve burned
And let love out of our hearts onto cheeks we turn
Spread love, show love, lets get rid of this curse,
Don’t wait for anyone to act man you go first
400 years wasted let’s get rid of this hurt cause that’s the only way we’ll ever see peace on earth

I can’t breathe
I can’t breathe
I, I
I can’t breathe

Change is what we need
Cut me open, cut you open Red’s the color every single human beings bleeds,
Let’s come together cops citizens and in between and rally for the rights of everybody in humanity
Black, blue, white, green,
Playing for the seam the team
I’m not MLK but boy that doesn’t mean I Can’t dream
Black lives matter shouldn’t anger you or make you scream all lives matter cause we aren’t treated equally
Remember when we were kids and didn’t see no color and when we played in kindergarten and I called you my brother
Then we grew up and they taught us we should hate on each other even though
We one in the same and we all came from our mothers
I hope y’all understand
Hate is not a trait it was learned man
Equality is the quality we need inside this earth man
Give and receive it’s the karma that you earn man

I can’t breathe
I can’t breathe
I, I
I can’t breathe

I can’t breathe
I can’t breathe
I, I
I can’t breathe

ryan flynn – Pride (Keep Working)
(Video)

Ryan Flynn delivers ambient, electronic soundscapes influenced by funk, pop, and dark wave. The music is mostly instrumental, with Cullinane’s soothing baritone voice usually having some sort of robotic, digital effect applied to it. Not your average purveyor of dance pop, Ryan Flynn concocts ethereal whirlpools of arpeggiated synth textures and ghostly echoes.

Starla Edney – Queen of Hearts (by Monoir)
(Video)

Travelling at the speed of sound is something Thrace Music is really good at. This and the passion for discovering cultural connections between countries separated by long distances have built upon the Romanian record label for quite a few years now. And its latest release comes to strengthen this feeling.

Starla Edney took her native island vibe to a wider audience with a handful of songs. Yet the collaboration started with Monoir, translated into Devil Eye, brought her the well deserved international fandom.

Queen Of Hearts connects the sensual tones from Starla Edney’s voice, born on the tiny island of Guam in the middle of the Pacific ocean, with Thrace’s unmistakable sound signature. The soft tropical beats and subtle Indian allusions emphasize on a broken love story that has never sounded so nostalgic. The hot summer days never seemed so close.

Starla Edney is an international singer and song-writer from the island of Guam. Signed with Thrace Music in Europe, she’s becoming the next European sensation. She has lived in many countries all over the world, and currently resides in Italy.

ImButcher – Drift Away
(Video)

Driving with an unstoppable air of integrity and artistry combined, Vancouver’s ImButcher is set to to kick off 2020 with a brand new album of beautifully immersive, profoundly engaging songs.

Bringing together a plethora of original tracks crafted throughout the past twelve months, the album ‘Rewind’ showcases ImButcher’s incomparable creativity alongside an unwavering professionalism. His finely tuned skill for sound design meets with a clear passion for music, fusing elements of electro pop with deep house in a seamless, hypnotic fashion. The 18-strong collection proves as entrancing as it is exotic, nostalgic, and brilliantly refreshing.

An innovator in his field by all accounts, ImButcher has put together a playlist fit for the late night festival stages as much so as the all-night private gatherings and even the long commute. From pristine audio craftsmanship, to thoughtful, deeply human subject matter, with captivating melodies and stunning build-ups, the album’s use of contrast allows each and every track to offer its own compelling drop into euphoric intensity.

Offering subtle hints of influence from a broad range of big names, ImButcher’s love for the likes of Depeche Mode, New Order contrasts powerfully with his connection to contemporary rock acts like Muse. Faultlessly uniting unusual chord patterns with satisfying melodic developments, introducing a number of sincere and memorable vocalists, each composition on the project works hard to deliver its own moment of utter escapism for the listener.

Ever unique in his process, ‘Rewind’ highlights an eclectic yet clearly heartfelt and emotive way with songwriting. From the production details to structural and lyrical choices, every moment adds soulful intention to the sound, effectively elevating ImButcher above the vast majority of his peers. There’s an intricate and considerate method of artistry to his work, and for all of these reasons, the new album seeks to boldly transcend that which came before.

Phil Good – Everything’s Good
(Video)

Elektra Records signee and Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Phil Good has returned with his latest single “Everything’s Good”.

“Even though I’m sarcastically saying that ‘everything’s good’ in the song, I think it’s important to be optimistic and remind yourself and those around you that things could always be much worse,” shared Phil. “You’re still here, reading this on your phone, maybe on the couch or the toilet.. who knows. But you’re alive and breathing and that alone is pretty ‘everything’s good’ right now.”

“Everything’s Good” follows Phil’s single and video “Living With No One”, which premiered on Variance Magazine in April. Earlier this year, Phil was featured on “Stuck On You”, the lead single off GRAMMY® Award-winning producer RAC’s new album Boy. Additionally, Phil released an official remix of his track “Do You Ever?” from the producer.

Last Fall Billboard announced Phil Good’s Elektra Records signing, and shared his major label debut single and music video “Wonder”. Phil’s follow-up “Do You Ever?” and its accompanying visual were premiered by Ones To Watch, who praised his “remarkable ear for tasteful synths.” Phil closed out 2019 with “Put It All On Me” which Lyrical Lemonade premiered, declaring, “Phil delivers an extremely catchy hook with his fun, charismatic energy; making it almost impossible to get out of your head.” Converting audiences to fans on the road, Phil recently supported Jaymes Young on his Happiest Year North America Tour, and joined labelmate Tones and I on select United States tour dates.

Resistance Is Holy by Steven Blane
(Video)

Steven Blane is a Pop-Americana Jazz infused Singer-Songwriter in the style of Leonard Cohen, Billy Joel, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Billy Bragg and Neil Diamond

He is inspired by Elvis, Roy Orbison and Chris Isaac and plays guitar, ukulele and piano. He self-produces his work and gigs constantly in NYC and South Florida.

During this Corona Virus Pandemic, he has been journaling his experience by writing and producing songs/videos of his take on the pandemic. One of his lyrics was featured in an article in Vanity Fare.

Among his most recent releases are a cover of Neil Young’s “After the Goldrush,” a song version of Robert Frost’s “Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening” and Alfred Noyes’ classic poem “The Highwayman,” a Passover EP, a chill electro-pop track entitled “Dumbo” and an inspirational pop ballad called “Fly Again.”

Blane just released a five-song acoustic EP entitled “Dancing With The Angles.” it is a full-on acoustic guitar-driven fiddle-filled Americana project.

He also produced a brand new album, entitled “Sweet Dreams” which features eleven tracks of chill electro jazz-infused pop.

In 2019 he released a Hanukkah EP as well as a brand new Christmas song, First Christmas! The six song EP, “Hanukah” includes five traditional Hanukkah songs with new English interpretations and a song entitled “A Little Light” which he wrote years ago, when he was a Hebrew School teacher.

In the style of so many Jewish songwriters who have written wonderful Christmas songs, “First Christmas” is about the very first time you bring your partner home to meet family and friends. Blane also produced a video for “First Christmas.” FIRST CHRISTMAS VIDEO.

That’s not Blane’s first foray into writing Christmas songs. His 2015 recording of “We’re Gonna Light the Lights Tonight” is another joyful musical celebration of the holiday season.

Clearly on a Keto charged roll, Blane has produced a brand new album, entitled “Sweet Dreams” which will be released in Jan., 2020. It features eleven tracks of chill electro jazz infused pop.

He also has a five song acoustic EP in the can. Entitled “Dancing With The Angles,” it is full-on acoustic guitar driven fiddle filled Americana.

Another recent album, “I Walk Alone,” is a collection of songs that Blane wrote and produced. He played all the instruments, recorded, mixed and mastered everything. It is an album comprised 60’s Rock & Roll, jazz tinged story songs.

The Huffington Post wrote, “Stylistically, Blane fits in the Americana category. But there’s more going on in his music than simply Americana. There’s a pop influence in there, along with a 1950’s rock vibe that gives his sound a unique signature. It’s much different from the usual run-of-the-mill stuff most bands turn out today.”

Of Blane’s previous recent album “So New York,” Seattle PI wrote, “So New York is grand! The album is full of vintage jazz/pop aromas giving off tantalizing wisps of elusive familiarity similar to the heady music of the ’40s and ’50s. Steven Blane’s voice is deliciously deluxe, full of lush tones.”

Prior to that Steven produced an album entitled “Motel Blue.” That album was recorded in Nashville and Produced by Blane. It features amazing Rachel Horter on many of the songs, fantabulous Fiddler Ross Holmes, Bass Player Kevin Hailey and Drummer Frank Levatino. “I’m so proud of that album. It’s just so real- organic- everything done in one take.”

Prior to that, Steven released four other albums. “I Confess” was produced by White Heart core member Billy Smiley and recorded in Nashville, and his Lake Worth, Florida recorded-in-a-shed album, “The Shed Sessions” received excellent reviews and airplay on Radio Stations across the country.

Steven is also a Cantor and a Rabbi. Here is a link to recordings of his High Holiday Services at The Bitter End in NYC.
