“-Homecoming- в исполнении -Dupont Brass- сочетает в себе элементы Soul-музыки и фанка, где ярко выраженный R&B и Hip-Hop рисует непредсказуемый ритмический рисунок, что делает композицию более энергичной и запоминающейся.”

On “Homecoming” DuPont Brass takes us on a trip down memory lane. They set the mood over a bed of mellow, romantic R&B. The music is laced with a sentiment of love and desire - and while the singer is pursuing a long lost lover, he is ultimately looking to recapture so much more than that. The incomparable feeling of youth. The freedom of possibility. And the chance to have it all before we’re too old to enjoy it. Mixing horn ensembles is an art form in and of itself, and the work done here is akin to the Mona Lisa. But unlike Leonardo da Vinci’s work, there is no
doubt that this song will leave a smile on your face. The band brings the song home with a guitar solo that sings out - reminiscent of great R&B solos brought to us by the Isley Brothers. Take a listen and share with a friend - you will surely find that the love is contagious.

New CARDS & SITA collab, "Blue Automobile," is a chill, beachy indie-soul song with lush arrangements reminiscent of 70s era Philly Soul & Bossa Nova. Wah-wah guitar solos and orchestral sections weave in and out of the space between the vocals and the drums to create a dreamy atmosphere that leaves the listener feeling transported to whatever world they feel like going to in their mind.

Upper Reality – I Can (Video)

Categories: Jazz, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“Don’t miss “I Can” from Upper Reality. A light, pleasant song dedicated to the strong feeling of love. Taken out from a very fresh six-track EP in Alternative / Indie R&B style.”

-Nagamag.com

Upper Reality grew up in Frisco, TX. hER life has taken many twists and turns, from getting a Bachelor’s in Economics at UT Austin to spending a year in Cape Town, South Africa, to finally being based in Los Angeles for the past 2 years. Her sound reflects that journey—an sensual electro-soul museum of Dallas neo-soul keys and synths, Cape Town house-jazzy percussion, LA indie grooves and sample flips, and flourishes of inspiration from artists running the gamut from Sade, to the Doors, to Roy Ayers, to Phoelix and more.

She creates from the burnt-out-overachiever perspective, soothing the mind and soul and reminding listeners that others’ validation is not worth destroying yourself over, and you are enough just because you are.

“Stepping cinematic, introducing quickly to an abundant emotional vocal performance surrounded by angelic harmonic notes in a minimal way and hard beats, NOHA SARÉ manages to hypnotize us deeply to her impressive vocal capabilities, which could not be able to express in such a mesmerizing way without the brilliant elegant music layering. ”

The eye-catching video alongside the song, is directed by the 24 year old director, performer and visual artist (& best friend) Izak Berman. Noha Saré is a 24 year old singer who stands out for her powerful, yet sensitive voice. Drawing on various genres, her music can not be classified into one specific category; Noha’s music tends to swing like her moods. She loves to play with contradictions in her personality and likes to dive into them and explore them. Both in her music and in her photography and videography. Her promising debut single Talk To Me is a good example of this: a soulful, authentic sound lined with elements of alternative R&B and electro pop.

Born in Amsterdam and raised by parents who are both artists, Noha Saré grew up surrounded by art. From an early age, she and her brother Marius (who is a multi-instrumentalist and composer) started to perform and make music together. They collaborate on songwriting and Marius co-produces her music together with producer Tom Bachmann. Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Peter Nigido:
Alternative, Electronic, Trip Pop

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Peter Nigido:
I first learnt to play the drums when I was in my early teens. I took an interest in hybrid playing, introducing electronic pads, looping systems and live programming set ups to my drum kit. This also encouraged my decision to study studio production. I’m currently signed to indie label Cultivator Records releasing music I produce and now sing and front my own solo works.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Peter Nigido:
Yes, I used to play with mums wooden spoons on a chair accompanying my brother on the acoustic guitar playing songs from U2’s Achtung Baby. Dad popped his head in and asked if I wanted to take drum lessons.

Nagamag:
Have you produced anything this year?

Peter Nigido:
Yeah, I was part of the Facebook group Live Electronic Musicians of Melbourne’s “Covers/Remix” compilation album. We were partnered up with another artist where we had to either remix or cover was her others song. I was paired with Melbourne’s Arcane Trickster and took on the song Project Sign. Arcane Trickster Remixed my song Touch. Was an awesome little project to take on. I real my liked what Arcane Trickster produced with their remix of Touch.

Nagamag:
Anything new releasing over the remainder of the year?

Peter Nigido:
Yep, I have an EP releasing on 11.12.20. It’s an Ep that features a radio edit of the single Touch, 2 B-Sides and 2 feature artists remix of 2 other songs of mine.

Mathien – So (If I Can’t Have Your Love) (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“Mathien and Sam Hudgens with their new single -So (If I Can't Have Your Love)- under WURLITZER CROWLEY imprint invite us into a lush groove of funky beats and harmonies, with vocals performance been soulful and elegant, hitting in the right places both in music layering and heart. While it gives you a laid back listening experience, not misses parts that you will feel the energy inside you to move and groove. ”

-Nagamag.com

Sam had made this beat in 2017 and played it for me during a session in Evanston. He was staying with his mom for a week and didn't have anything but a guitar and his laptop when he made it, so the entire beat was dozens of layers of nylon strings over a drum machine loop. Even in its early sketches it was so good, I told him I wanted it but it seemed like he was writing to it. Fast forward to this September he stopped by my studio to record some ideas, and he ended up playing the beat for me again, it was exactly the same, "I've been stuck on this beat for years now" he said.

After he left I wrote "If I can't have your love" to it and sent him a demo of it that night, and he called me freaking out (happy). The next day he came back at 6:30 am to help finish it. we decided Sam would sing the first verse and I would do the second, but we're both on all 3 of the hooks. Then he played his Sax on it. I wrote a little instrumental bridge section to break up the loop a little, and added some additional synth and guitar/bass... I figured I'd send it over to Brooklyn so Devon Yesberger (Cory Wong, Lohaith, Caleb Hawley,Grace Kelly) could play piano on it. It came back and that piano part you hear that opens the track was actually at the end of what he sent but it was so striking I threw it on the front. Took 3 years but the track is finished.

“A heartwarming song by Kovic which trough beautiful keys and sweet grooves, daydream us with his voice. Kovic please us more through this memorable video thanks to the great performance of dancer Kaycee Rice.”

-Nagamag.com

Mark Kovic (Kovic) is an English singer-songwriter and producer, born and raised in Brentwood, Essex, to a Serbian father and English mother. Known for his baritone vocal and big chorus’, his first momentum-accelerating single titled “Drown” was released in 2017, produced by Jonny Coffer (Beyoncé, Emile Sandé) & Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag N Bone man), and co-written with goliath songwriter Jamie Scott (Jesse Ware, Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Justin Bieber).

The debut album for Kovic is due to be released later this year, and will feature a contrasting combination of songs ranging from soulfully haunting balad, to summer infused pop. Suchy Sha – Laylow (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“Get explode through a full funky mediterranean vibe, an endless groove which uplift you thanks to the strong voice character of Suchy Sha which sings with passion, music layering with clarity and while you think you have get enough, it comes on 01:54, to push you up and dance in full energy. We enjoyed every second here and especially that music here stands equally in same high quality with vocals performance.”

-Nagamag.com

Phenomenal up & coming talent Suchy released her brand new single ‘Laylow’. Filled with soulful emotion & a diverse mix of instruments, the track also contains important messaging around the often overlooked topic of coercive control – a subject matter gathering real momentum both in the news & entertainment via key storylines in a number of high profile UK soaps.

Suchy’s soul-filled and alternative R&B infused vocals glide across a soundscape drenched in Latino strings and Ska inspired horns. The track uncovers Suchy’s real life experience watching someone close to her become embroiled in a toxic relationship fuelled by mental abuse – ‘Laylow’ is a powerful warning to the man, calling him out for all he has done and warning him that he better lay low. It carries a powerful sentiment of loving & respecting yourself enough to leave and also for those who know a potential victim to step in & help them get out from dangerous situations. The messaging is perfectly summarised in the key lyric: ‘She’s gold tipped and you’re brass bassed’ – a confident and cutting sentiment that the people who inflict this pain will never be good enough for Suchy’s circle.

Enriched by the rich musical culture of Bristol and the city’s distinctive flair, ‘LayLow’ comes to a head with a drum and bass breakdown that perfectly encapsulates Suchy’s ability to draw from all aspects of her life.

“Sounds like an old American soul singer. Walked in like an English rock star” – Craig Charles, BBC Radio 6 Soul & Funk Show.

“Suchy is a refreshing new artist whose independent attitude and insightful lyrics sets her apart from the crowd. Her sound is one you won’t be forgetting anytime soon.” – Sadia Akhtar, Presenter/Producer BBC 1Xtra & BBC Asian Network. https://ditto.fm/laylow-suchy
